Emergency Animal Clinic Cat Connection LA is a non-profit cat rescue organization. Our mission is to save the lives of abandoned, abused and neglected cats and dogs by providing shelter, care and medical treatment. We provide these services to homeless animals through rescue, adoption, adoption events, and community outreach. We also promote spay/neuter and the importance of making a lifetime commitment to companion animals.

Our goal is to help Los Angeles become a no-kill city. Three partners opened the practice in 1996, with the dream of opening a 24 hour practice that would see emergencies and do critical ongoing care, as well as do puppy and kitten care, senior care, dentistry, medicine and surgery.
Services
When did we open our doors, and why? Three partners opened the practice in 1996, with the dream of opening a 24-hour practice that would see emergencies and do critical ongoing care, as well as do puppy and kitten care, senior care, dentistry, medicine, and surgery. Two of the three partners have since gone their separate ways, leaving the practice under the leadership and direction of Dr. Laurel Leach.
We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year from the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00pm. We are here for our clients and their pets all hours of the day and this is what drives our popularity and our success. We are a family doctor. We have arranged our practice environment to be soothing and welcoming to the pet owner; we try to help them understand the possible costs of care and the potential outcomes. And we provide the best medical care that we are able to provide given the pet's condition and owner's circumstances.
Laurie Leach, Dr. Leach graduated from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) in 1984. She practiced in rural Kentucky and in suburban Virginia before moving to Sherman Oaks with her husband in 1994. Dr. Leach loves all aspects of emergency care, surgery and well-patient care.
Here are some questions/ answers that we are frequently asked. 1. What are the Hospital Hours? Our hospital is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. We are Gerneral practice and Emergency and Critital care, we see routine appointments between the hours of 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Emergency hours begin from 7:00pm to 9:00am and we accept walk-ins at anytime.

The doctor was fairly good although I did have to wait in between each and every time they came into the room (at least 30 minutes). The older blonde lady in the front was exceptionally rude and rolled her eyes when I asked for the discount on the vaccines that they said they were gonna give me after she charged me the full amount. As she was walking to the back I heard her talking to a few of the people saying that I was complaining and she didn't see why I cared about getting a discount or not.

She an aggressively snatched the card from my hand didn't apologize didn't look at me and couldn't figure out how to correctly get a discounted percentage from the total amount. The prices were also quite overpriced and for the service I would just go to Petco at least they would have better customer service.

BEWARE OF THE FRONT DESK! When checking out today, they wanted to charge my care credit $411 and only extend it for 6 mths and being a time where I can not afford payments of such magnitude a month. When I checked out last visit they extended it for 18mths for only $250? How does that make any sense? This office goes through staff like crazy never the same person when I go in.

And it's not right to take advantage of ppl because you don't feel like paying more in fees. this is criminal and should be stopped. I'm in the healthcare field it's unacceptable to do to ppl.

Adopted my kitten Luna from Bev Oaks. Everyone there is very friendly and took great care of her. She is a bit of a handful so I appreciate their techs for being good with cats. If you have a cat, bring him/her here! Dr Leach is a cat expert!

I brought my puppy here for an emergency and I couldn't have been more thrilled with the care we received! Prices were beyond fair (and even a bit under what I was anticipating for an emergency at night on Easter Sunday). I would also like to note that Dr. Wood, the veterinarian who took care of my puppy, went above and beyond! He took the time to explain everything to me, even on unrelated matters such as what is the best dog toothpaste to eliminate plaque! Everyone here is incredible and I cannot be more grateful for them!

We brought my cat here after she had fallen. My cats dead now. It's been nearly 3 months, I'm devastated and my life is ruined. I think about her every day. The vet Dr Wood sedated her as he could no longer work on her so we brought her to another vet who the hospital recommended who was trying to undo the drugs this doctor had put on my cat. The drugs killed her.

I know not everyone can be saved but shame on this hospital. The person at the front told me my cat would survive and now she is dead not even from the injury we brought her in for. I'm 16 I've spent 4 years with her since she was a kitten I'm still not over her death it's the worst thing I've ever gone through. I don't trust this hospital.

Staff was professional and friendly. I am grateful they were able to accommodate me on a walk-in basis the day before my international flight when my dog developed a ear infection. I appreciate that they were over cautious in their proactive treatment.

I really appreciate finding this place especially during the pandemic. They have some of the shortest wait times for emergency care, and have been the most affordable that I've found. No matter what it's an emergency clinic so you will always wait a bit, but it's more reasonable than anywhere else around. I've brought both my dogs and cat here for a random assortment of things, anywhere from a hurt paw to weird vomit and also stitches, and they always come back to us better than they want in. Definitely recommend as your emergency vet if you live in the valley!

I recently brought in my young dog who was running a fever and shaking terribly in the middle of the night. Dr. Wood was great with her. Eleanor is a rescue, so we don't know her background, but she doesn't open up to many males easily. Dr. Wood was very patient and had a calm demeanor. I knew that El was in good hands with him. He also had a vet tech on duty, Tiffany. El absolutely loved her.

Both Dr. Wood and Tiffany were amazing with my dog. Since there was nothing wrong with Eleanor (she was eating/drinking normal, and using the restroom normal) I was given the options of fever treatments, pricing, and suggestions of what we should do that night to take care of El. She was back to her silly self within 24 hours of treatment. I'd like to also point out that the pricing for an emergency visit was very reasonable.

These doctors are doing incredible work and taking the best care of our animals (in my case, I refer to them as my children.) Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital has my business for my dogs. Thank you Dr. Wood!

Beverly Oaks is the only place I trust with my animal emergencies! Dr. Leach is a miracle worker! She literally brings kittens back to life when it looks like all hope is gone. All the vets there are great and very compassionate. The vet techs and the front of the house staff are amazing! Laura who does a little bit of everything is irreplaceable! Thank you again for the wonderful care you have given to my sick babies! Carolyn Cody

I have never written a review before and in light of my journey these past weeks I feel compelled. Dr. Laurie Leach is among the finest veterinarians in Los Angeles County and as far as I am concerned the best ever. I first came to Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital in 1996, shortly after they opened. My cat Morris was suffering from diabetes and his former doctor was unable to regulate his insulin.

Enter Dr. Leach - she not only figured it out in one visit - she intuitive amazing care and knowledge prolonged his life for years, passing away at 21 years old. Understanding my heartbreak Dr. Leach then gifted me their young hospital cat - which was promptly named Trouble. Trouble flourished and lived a long life under Dr. Leach's steady and brilliant care.

My next cat Lucky become stressed out to the max and his already diagnosed urinary issues affecting his kidneys in a life threatening way is what brings me to write this review. Dr. Leach stepped up immediately offering to find our precious Lucky a new home and to care for him until that person met her firm requirements. She and her fabulous staff nursed him back to health and a new home was secured.

She will to continue as his doctor and maintain his good health. Dr. Leach is dedicated to the well being of each and every animal that passes through her hospital's doors, bringing intelligence, understanding, competence and a gentle soothing manner to both animals and owners. I recommend Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital - they take the very best care of our animal family! Mrs. Mitchell, Los Angeles
