These dogs are out of some of the oldest and best known German working lines. Pups are suitable as pets, personal protection, Schutzhund, police K-9, AKC obedience, SAR, and narcotics detection dogs. Many have been placed with police departments in both the US and Canada. Blacks, black and red and sable are usually available. Germelhaus pups are known for their high drives and athletic ability. Pedigrees include combinations of West, Belgium and East German lines and are registered with AKC and USA/SV.

Mellodee is one of, if not the best German Shepherd breeder and trainer in Texas. This was our second puppy from her. Mellodee keeps the buyer informed and upon obtaining the puppy she spends hours with each client to ensure they are knowledgable and comfortable with the puppy and the puppy is comfortable with the new owners.

Updating my review. It is now 2021, 5 years since I first brought my pup Dexter home from Germelhaus. I had to come update because this dog is literally a miracle dog and has saved my life numerous times since before he was even a year old and now my disabilities are worsening and changing, he's adapting automatically to my needs without me having to teach him and further saving my life even more from my falls and losing balance and difficulty walking from narcolepsy cataplexy events.
He's always been amazing but I kept thinking he's at the highest level now just to have him turn around and do things that I never imagined a dog would be able to figure out doing on his own and amaze me to no end. I know I would've died so many times if I didn't have him with me. Furthermore, he was my first puppy to call my very own to raise and train and learn with.
Well now 5 years later, I have become a professional dog trainer from learning from my journey with him and I've gotten 2 more puppies from Mellodee to raise and train as service dogs and they were both just as smart and intelligent as my dog. I also trained another pup, sibling to one of the pups I raised, for 2 weeks and she went home and told her owner why the owner has been having mysterious slight headaches for months.
She was just around 6 months old when she was with us. I also got to train another pet dog from this breeder. All her dogs are amazing and Mellodee truly cares about her dogs. She patiently answered and still answers any of my silly questions throughout these years and encouraged me and gave me super helpful advice and information. To sum it up, I pretty much owe Mellodee my life and career.
I feel so blessed and fortunate that I found her 6 years ago when I was researching reputable breeders. I have found nothing but positive reviews throughout the year before I bought my pup and watched her group, how she raises her pups, and what other customers post. The Germelhaus group is like a very nice very loving big extended family that I have never met before and I love sharing about my dog and the other pups when I was raising them there all the time. The best thing is, no one ever gets tired of my posts no matter how often I post them. I will not be getting a GSD anywhere else as long as Mellodee is still breeding.

I'd have a hard time finding someone who cares more about her dogs than MelloDee. She is a world of knowledge and is always super helpful. We have 2 of her dogs and the length that she goes to make sure her dogs are well cared for is unheard of. I couldnt recommened her enough especially if you are new to the breed.

Mellodee is a professional. This is a premier breeder of working class GSD's that are placed as police K9, Service Animal, and SAR. Her experience with training and working with dogs extends 38 years. She is multi-titled in International and American Schutzhund. Excellent breeder, she really cares about her dogs. BE AWARE these are WORKING temperament dogs with high drive, they kick ass but you need to make sure that you can handle a working drive dog. If not, stop here.
