Paws and Claws Pet Resort was founded in 2003 with the realization that locals and tourists alike were lacking options for pet boarding in the Fredericksburg area. Owning and practicing veterinary medicine at Friendship Veterinary Center since 1993 made creating a trustworthy boarding and grooming facility a natural fit for owner Robert Lastovica, DVM, and his wife, Abban.
Abban has owned Paws and Claws Pet Resort alongside her husband, Robert, since its opening in 2003. In 2021, after working as a teacher and dyslexia specialist in Fredericksburg ISD for 20 years, Abban assumed the role of Manager at Paws and Claws, where you'll find her working hard to ensure you and your pet have a great experience.
Paws and Claws Pet Resort was founded in 2003 with one goal in mind - to offer trusted pet care to the residents and visitors of Fredericksburg, Texas, and surrounding Hill Country communities. For more than a decade, we have delivered on that promise while ensuring your pets have a comfortable and enjoyable stay at their home away from home.
Paws and Claws Pet Resort offers clean and spacious climate-controlled accommodations for dogs, cats, and other small animals. We are happy to accommodate other small animals at Paws and Claws Pet Resort on a case-by-case basis depending on animal type and space available. Incredible! Finally a place where I can drop off my fur children and not have to worry. Best place to board that I've come across in the area. They can update shots and are super accommodating. My boys weren't in a kennel the whole time, they both got to roam and get walked and when I picked them up, both my kids and their beds were cleaned. I'm deathly serious when it comes to my animals and these folks impressed me with their organization and transparency. I'll consider no other location to house my boys when I'm gone.
