Enjoying a successful career in business administration at the Buffalo Zoo, Sally Cataldo considered the idea of starting her own small business. St. Bernards, the seemingly ideal business opportunity of a boarding facility was presented to her. Intrigued by its potential and possibilities, Sally purchased what was then the 'old' Orchard Park Kennels in 1983.

Carolyn knew she would spend her life providing comfort to animals ever since she took care of Hedwig, her first of many Saint Bernards. In 1983, while attending high school at Orchard Park, Carolyn and her mother Sally started Eagle Ridge Boarding Kennel. After high school, she went on to Cornell and graduated from SUNY Delhi with a degree in veterinary technology.

I want to make sure everyone knows the truth. After 24 years of dedication Tammy the groomer quit last March. And, this March after 26 yrs Mary quit. If you look at the meet our staff part of the website the only two people that are still part of Eagle Ridge Kennels are the owner and her husband. Everyone else has quit prior to Tammy's departure. I have made several requests to have my picture removed from their website as is it considered "misappropriation of your likeness". This is not meant to intentionally hurt anyone but to let people know the "truth"! I do not like lies or deception!

My fur baby has boarded here multiple times. The last time I boarded him here is was told he is a behavior level 2 so it will be $75 a day. The woman claimed he growled at a handler. I actually laughed at her. I said he may have "grumbled" as he has a distinct personality and he will make funny noises with things he likes and dislikes. He has never hurt anyone.

She continued to tell me that it is the policy so they have 1 or 2 handlers that can take care of him. I again stated that I'm certain he did not growl at anyone unless the said individual did something to him to physically hurt him.

My dogs, over the last 28 years, have done well here. The comments and reports from the staff tell me that they are paying attention to his comfort and well-being.

We love Eagle Ridge! Our high energy dog loves going there and comes home all tuckered out. She plays with many other dogs and loves going there. The staff listens and follows any special requests we have. They are always happy to see her come through the door whenever we bring her.

Adequate boarding care. Full disclosure - If you want your dog to play with other dogs there is a $10(ish) upcharge per day and they require you to purchase a bath.

We dropped off our dog Monty for his first time boarding at Eagle Ridge. I was a bit worried how our large dog would do because he has separation anxiety, and he's never been to a dog boarding place. He has only had pet sitters. I called every day to see how he was doing and they explained what his activities were for the day and how he was eating/drinking and his mood.

It made us feel much better. They offer the option for your doggie to go in play groups based on temperament during boarding. I felt most assured when a staff member said they hung out with our dog and pet him a lot. They call him "Mr. personality". When we picked him up, I was scared he was going to be a nervous from our time away, he has acted very weird during previous times when we went away. However, at Eagle Ridge, he came back sooo happy and comfortable. He was super calm and acted like he never missed us! I definitely recommend Eagle Ridge Kennels.

I'm editing this review on the basis of the reply from the veterinarian on staff. I had attributed a case of roundworms to the facility but the explanation underscored that the life cycle of the roundworm would probably not make the kennel The smoking gun in this case.

We used the kennel for the first time this past weekend and we couldn't be more thankful for your caring staff for taking care of our Maggie. She is one tired out little lady today. Surprising how many people are complaining about pricing. These people are handling our family member. The pricing is comparable to other kennels. The only thing I wish we knew up front was we couldn't extend time.

We have used other kennels with our old dogs and when on vacation if we were running late or decided to stay an extra day it was never a big deal. With daylight savings it through us off a little and had to speed home after calling an asking for an extra hour to pick up even offering to pay extra. We got called 30 minutes before pick up and were told they can make a 1x exception but at that point we were 15 minutes out.

Just wish they told us that at 9 am when we called so my kids could of got out more to stretch their legs. Other than the strict pick up policy we loved the kennel and definitely will be using them again in the future.

I would give this company no stars! I have been taking my dog for some time for daycare. Every time I bring my beloved pet home it GULPS water which leads me to believe that my pet as well as others haven't been offered water. My pet never gulps water until coming home from the kennel. Plus my pet had an unexplained wound that no one seemed to know about leading me to believe that playtime is not being monitored. I called and no one seemed to know about the wound. I will never take my dog there again.

Eagle Ridge has taken care of our cat several times when we've been out of town. What a wonderful place! Our cat receives exceptional care and comes home happy and healthy. We never worry about his care while we're gone and know he's receiving personal attention with total commitment to his well-being.

We took our 2 dogs to Eagle Ridge for a weekend and could not have been more disappointed. First of all, 2 dogs for 2 nights was $456.76! The kennel bill was more expensive than my husband and I paid to go away for the weekend with 2 nights for a hotel, meals, entertainment and gas. Eagle Ridge will only let your dog play with other dogs if you agree to have them bathed before they go home, at $45 per dog.

My dogs have been to other kennels and they never had to get a bath, just another way to charge you more money. When we picked the girls up we were asked if anyone had told us they recently had a dog that was coughing a lot and they were sure the dog had kennel cough but the owner of the dog refused to take it to the vet. We should have been told about this other dog before we dropped them off, not when we picked them up! Now my younger dog has kennel cough and is suffering due to irresponsible staff at Eagle Ridge. Do not take your pets here, you will regret it

Smug young man answered phone and got militant offering daily rates. I've kenneled other dogs there for years, just not my current pooch, so I have no problem with the rates or care at ER. Did have a problem with this young man's snarky attitude. Don't assume everyone will give you a problem at drop off, "Just so YOU know" he began to say. Change your tone please. Paying human customers deserve respect too!

I have experienced a major improvement at another day care, from the care my dog received at Eagle Ridge. Clearly, when my dog comes home dog tired and well behaved from new kennel, it is a good choice to leave a prior kennel. I will not go back to eagle ridge. Eagle ridge Facility looks good from the outside, but care of the dog for active play and routine opportunity to go outside are questionable.

Staff at the front desk and on phone are rude at times, rules are different for various dogs at front desk welcome area. Times for pick up and drop off are not clear on website as of August 2017, without further fees. Owner needs to take a look at what is going on in this kennel.

We've never boarded our dog here, but we take him here for grooming. We have a long haired shepherd mix and he always comes back looking great! The prices are also very reasonable. Tammy, the groomer, is fantastic. She always does an amazing job and it's clear that she is very knowledgable and passionate about what she does. By far the best place we've gone.

I have now boarded my cat here three times and had him groomed on two of those stays as well as one time separately and I am very pleased. I never have trouble making an appointment. They are flexible about pick-up and he comes home happy and clearly spoiled. On my cat's first stay, he wouldn't eat because he was nervous about being in a new place.

They called me to ask for advice on settling him down. Since then he knows where he is and I can see that he is calm and happy when I come to pick him up. When I have taken my cat elsewhere for grooming it has not gone very well, but the groomer here has no problem grooming him. The grooming is expensive though. Overall I am quite pleased with Eagle Ridge. I will not take my cat anywhere else. I only wish the grooming were a little less expensive.

Their website lies. They do NOT offer daycare for boarders on weekends. They will just drug your dog up and stick him in a kennel without exercising him. Never taking my dog back here again and sad that I took him here to begin with! There may be SOME dogs that get daycare. But they seem to be afraid of big dogs (the ones who actually need the daycare the most), and won't even test them out with other dogs. I think the "regulars" who go here get daycare, but they have to be familiar with the dog already.
