CAPPS is a network of professional pet sitters and dog walkers who provide in-your-home pet care in the Capital Region area of Upstate New York. All members of Capital Area Professional Pet Sitters are insured and have been in business a minimum of 6 months. The majority of our members have many years of experience. To find a professional pet sitter in your area simply select your county from the "Find a Pet Sitter" menu. We have members covering Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady counties.

Capital Area Professional Pet Sitters (CAPPS) is a network of professional pet sitters who provide in-your-home pet sitting and dog walking in the Capital Region area of Upstate New York. Our mission is to ensure that your pets receive the highest quality care while you are away. In-home pet care is an alternative to boarding, or imposing on the neighbors, family or friends.
All businesses must be 'legitimate' to join. Businesses must carry the necessary liability insurance and abide by New York State, County and Federal laws. All members adhere to the Pet Sitters International Standards of Excellence in Pet Sitting. New members are required to be in business a minimum of six months before they are eligible to join.
The sitter has experience in caring for pets and is clearly mindful of their safety and well-being. The sitter visits the client's home before the first pet sitting assignment to meet the pets and get detailed information about their care. The sitter shows a positive attitude during the initial meeting and seems comfortable and competent dealing with animals. The sitter takes precautions to make sure a client's absence from home is not detected because of any careless actions or disclosures by the sitter.
The purpose of CAPPS is to provide business-related support and information to its members, to offer a support system of friends and colleagues and to build an awareness of professional pet sitting in our community and our State. All members adhere to the Pet Sitters International Standards of Excellent in Pet Sitting.

Really great people, Jessica and Ciera are two of my dog Ruby's best friends! Ruby can't wait to see them during the week and will even sit by the door expecting their arrival. They give her lots of love and attention, introduce her to new doggie friends, and really help enforce good walking behaviors. Also like that Ruby gets a mix of play time and walking time every week and daily updates. Complete trust in Empire Pet Care and so happy to have found them!

Empire Pet Care, Jessica, gave us peace of mind when we left our 150 pound bullmastiff, Hank, for an extended period for the first time. She met with us prior to our vacation and Hank fell in love with her immediately! She accommodated all of our requests in caring for Hank, and additionally took care of our home by turning on and off lights, getting mail, etc.
We highly recommend Jessica and Empire Pet Care! We definitely plan to use them in the future and so happy we can feel confident and comfortable with the care that they provide!

Jessica and Empire Pet Care are the only people I'd want to have taking care of my dogs and cats when I'm not home. She does an amazing job with them and goes the extra mile by sending us pictures and summaries of each of their visits. We've seen our dogs with Jessica a couple of times and it's obvious that they love her and are excited to see her when she comes for visits. We couldn't have found someone better to take care of our animals!

It's with full confidence that I recommend Empire Pet Care! Jessica was an absolute professional (though I'd refer to her as an angel ) in taking care of my cat while I toured in Europe for 3 weeks this Fall. She was attentive, doting, and responsible.providing me daily reports of each encounter she had with my Daisy, including pictures of her time with her, and a narrative of their activities, daily visits. Wonderful!
