I've been getting our Dog groomed at this place for 4 years as Mary Kate is awesome. Today I drop off our Dog and as I was in the back the miserable owner essentially tells me to shut up because next to the grooming room is a dark room full of Dogs barking. She says the dogs are in nap time, can you not talk. I said these dogs were barking like crazy when I walked back there.

As I left the store she says, see u later, I don't answer her, she then says, have a nice day, I say nothing, she then says, thanks for coming, I don't say anything. U see what she was doing right? Antagonizing me and picking a fight. Then she calls me arguing saying I told her to F herself which of course I didn't, as I was creating a talk to text to someone when I was in my car. I've never been treated so rudly.

She then posts a reply to my Google Review saying I've never purchased a product from her in 4 years. Now that's a fact as pricing is high. She'll probally reply to this review wishing me a miserable life like she did in my Google review. Don't purchase anything from that place. She also added that I did not purchase a product while taking our dog there for 4 years. Doesn't the owner get a cut of be grooming cost? So in essence I've supported her for 4 years.

Dog Town is downright wonderful! Our two dogs eagerly go to Day Care three days a week and we board them there when we are away. We also regularly used Dog Town's grooming services. This is saying a lot because one of our dogs is a very difficult grooming client -- yet, Dog Town is masterful at working with him. We feel our dogs are not only safe in Dog Town's care but also we can tell by the boundless joy our dogs exhibit when we go to Dog Town that they truly love it there.

Dog Town has also come through for us in emergencies. For example, when a family member was in a critical unexpected health state we had to rush to his needs. But the dogs were in Day Care and it was close to pick up time. We called Dog Town, told them the situation, and Dog Town, without hesitation, welcomed our dogs as overnight boarders. They told us not to worry -- they knew what they ate and that they had or dog care covered for us.

Another time, one of our dogs on a weekend split her nail all the way up through the base of the nail. She was clearly in pain but we could not manage the nail ourselves and the vet could not take us. We called Dog Town who told us the groomer was there and to bring her by. The groomer was able to cut back her nail below the break so our dog was no longer in pain and this was able to control the situation until our vet could see her. These are only two of numerous experiences we have had with Dog Town exhibiting exceptional, professional, and reliable care. I cannot recommend Dog Town highly enough!

My dogs came back traumatized. I tried them out because our regular Groomer retired. I will never take them back. They did a terrible job. Clumps everywhere where they missed. Dogs came back with ear infections. And instead of combibg out matts, they just shave the dog. Don't waste your money, or punish your pet

I boarded my dog for 4 nights and on the second night she was there I decided to call and check in on her. The person who answered the phone said she escaped the crate and got a scrape on her nose from doing so. I picked up my dog on the last day and was handed back my dog like this. To me this is not from a crate. We took her to the vet to be told that all of her wounds were severely infected and she was very dehydrated that she needed an IV.

The owner Jen offered to pay for our vet bill and told us that our dog has anxiety issues and this is our problem. Please don't take your dog here if you love and care for them

We had taken our dog in for nail trimming 3x before, each time with an appt. made several days in advance. first time it took 30 minutes from the time he was taken into the back. Second time, it was done right away. same with the 3rd time. Today however, it was a horrible experience. As soon as my husband came in, the person was stressed and rude, saying the grooming table was being used and no one could do it and she didn't know why they booked our dog for this time slot.

She then offered to do the trimming in the main part of the store insisting that my hubby hold our dog while she clipped his nails. Well that turned out to be a disaster as our dog became agitated and scratched my hubby, s arms causing him to bleed. my hubby lost his patience at that point and left the store after they were able to only trim one nail.

He came home to explain his experience and said he lost his patience not just because of the nail appt. experience but he was upset after witnessing an employee taking one of the dogs out for a potty break in the parking lot in mid day 98 degree temp. walking the dog with bare feet on the hot asphalt! Needless to say he's never going back again.

So sad too. we wanted like them and support a local small business. : Additionally. an hour later, at my urging because I was concerned about the well-being and treatment of the dogs in their care, I had my hubby call the store to let them know about the employee walking the dog on hot asphalt. He was careful to speak kindly to the woman and was very shocked at the woman's response. her words "Well, that is the only place that has grass and that is how we do it!", she said angrily. "What do you want us to do?

Have the dogs pee in the store?". This is unbelievable! No concern whatsoever about the dogs having to walk on hot asphalt! We are not complainers and to be honest, this is the first time I've had to post any kind of complaint, but these folks don't care about their customers or the pets they are entrusted with. If you read on, we are not the first to report of such a bad experience with Dog Town/Hatfield.

I had another great experience here today, with daycare. My young dog started to be overwhelmed at daycare occasionally, but loves to play with the other dogs and I love knowing that she's getting exercise if we're away. One of the staff, Jacquie, took the extra time to suggest a less busy time, assessed my pup today, and talked to me about potential strategies to make her visits successful. I'm so glad to have Dog Town for my active dog.

I went to the storefront and everything looked very nice. However it was a bit alarming to have 2 dogs barking non stop at me as soon as I entered. I'm not upset at the dogs because that's just what they do but having a large dog behind the counter lunging at me was not the best experience and not the best greeting. Maybe she shouldn't be kept behind the counter?

I tried to flag down the woman for assistance and she said hi but then immediately answered the phone. Instead of putting the person on the line on hold to assist the customer right in front of her, she had a 10 minute conversation before addressing me again even though it was clear that I was waiting. The store sells good merchandise but the customer service was lacking which is a shame because that's what distinguishes small stores like these from Petsmart and Target.

The staff (2 young woman) working in the back were very kind and considerate! I would maybe consider the dog care (although maybe not based on other reviews) but would NOT shop the store again in the future.

I have been a long time customer of Dog Town and up until a couple of months ago was a big fan. However, I feel that the upkeep of the building where the dogs are boarded and attend day care is deteriorating. The area where you enter is dirty and generally depressing. There is a constant odor from dogs urinating. The store, however, seems to be getting the most attention. It's clean, bright, and overall nicely kept.

While I appreciate the effort the owner has made in getting dogs adopted, I feel that her attention to the day care and boarding is waning. I would like to see the day care/boarding areas given the same attention as the stores. Also, several months ago, I boarded my dog for 9 days. Included in this boarding was supposed to be a bath prior to pickup.

I explicitly made sure that I requested a bath for the dog when I made the reservation. When I picked him up, no bath was given and the explanation was "I guess it was not written down ". This is not the first time this had occurred. It also happened the prior year. All I was offered was "we can give him a bath the next time he comes to day care". I'm disappointed and wasn't interested in having him bathed a week later.

Customer service needs to improve and updates/cleaning needs to be performed. All can say is that I believe the owner is no longer interested in the day care facility and is only concerned with the store and adoption activities. I am currently exploring other options for my dog.

They were great until check out. We boarded our dog for part of our vacation and had a neighbor pick up for the second half. When our neighbor picked up they initially handed her the wrong dog, jad.no idea she was even get picked up that day ( we prepaid and scheduled this ahead of time) they were informed that they sold not charge the correct amount as well as list the leash and dog food that was given. They were less then helpful and will not return.

PHOTOS with SANTA were taken on December 1. Now It is almost December 9, each of us had paid $10.00 to have our pets photographed, and still no photos. In this digital age why does it take over a week to have a photo emailed to us? NEVER AGAIN. It is a matter of trust, sadly.

Took my dogs (Labrador Retriever & Anatolian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever) to Dog Town last week for grooming. Amanda was amazing! I wasn't sure how my big guy, who is a rescue, would handle the dryers since he is terrified of thunder. Amanda hand dried him & he loved it. Both dogs came home looking & smelling fabulous! I will be booking my next gooming appointment with her soon!

I was looking to adopt a Pitbull. Had been convinced by my husband to check it out. I went to ACCT we found a dog but wanted to make sure the dog and the one we have would get along. Unfortunately it didn't take. I then went on FB and someone told me about Dog Town. I called and spoke with Stacey. She told me the dog I wanted was placed. Needless to say I was disappointed.

Several hours later she called me back. Get up here Pippin was returned. Their older dog couldn't get along with her. We ran up there with our lab Oliver. As soon as we walked in I saw this gorgeous dog lying on a cot I recognized her from her picture. Omg! My husband laughed said to our daughter guess who's coming home with us. Oliver and Pippin hit it off! Yay! Stacey is Pippin's fairy godmother. She sees our posts on FB and knows Pippin is well loved and cared for. Thank you Stacey so much for getting us Pippin.

After being approved to adopt a dog at the Dogtown New Britain location, my husband & I were treated very rudely by employees in the store & a girl taking the dog out back of the shopping center while texting on her phone. The following day Stacy left me a sarcastic, mocking voicemail. We had come there fully intending to adopt the dog.my husband, my self, & my dog.

We then contacted PAWS in Philadelphia. They couldn't have been more helpful or kind. They truly show such interest in finding the right home for the Pet. We did adopt from PAWS and their follow up is wonderful. We would never recommend Dogtown!

Wonderful first impression! I took my Westie to Dog Town for a groom with Mary Kate. While waiting a minute for her to emerge, I observed lots of happy pups at daycare, being supervised by attentive & engaging staff. Mary Kate clearly LOVES all the doggies and she greeted us with enthusiasm, spending quite a bit of time chatting with me prior to getting to work.

Per instruction, I picked Fiona up at the store/rescue center. The folks here couldn't have been friendlier - they were nice enough to keep her behind the front desk while she waited for pickup, rather than in a kennel. And pricing? To my surprise, I paid only $50 for a full groom, as opposed to the $65 which is apparently the going rate everywhere else. Highly recommended, based upon my experience. 4 paws up for Dog Town.

I adopted Evie from dog town and I am so happy I did. It's great they rescue dogs and try to find good homes for them. There store also carries high quality products. That's where my praise ends. I did use the daycare in the past and was under the impression that even though my dog is small she was well supervised. My daughter had a baby 3&1/2 months ago and my other daughter and myself put our small dogs in the kennel.

We realized very quickly after picking up the dogs that Evie had a couple of significant size bruises on her abdomen and what appears to be a puncture mark. My vet was away and we decided to keep a watch on it to make sure it did not get infected but she did see the pictures. I sent the pictures to dog Town and when I got no response called them. The couple of explanations was that she was rubbing on her cage or she got hotspots.

I don't think so! I know the pictures were seen because they were looking at them as we spoke. I requested the owner call me. I sent a second email stating that I was extremely surprised that the owner never called me. To this day the owner has never contacted me. I will never send my dog to dog town daycare or kennel. I will never send Evie to daycare again and only a kennel with runs and who only has your dog interact with other dogs if you desire them to.

From now on me and my family will supervise Evie if any other dogs are around. Basically it was a horrible experience and the way they handled it was more than disappointing!

My family and I frequent the Colmar location since we live right by there. We've been visiting often over the past 1 to 2 years as we were looking for our second dog. We adopted our little "Charlie", (AKA "Storm"), from Dog Town Rescue in August of last year. He has been an amazing addition to our family and we have been consistently pleased with the service that Dog Town Rescue continues to provide to us.

I try to support them however I can by shopping there and donating when I can because I know how passionate the owner, Jen, and her staff of volunteers are about helping these dogs find loving homes. There is a detailed application process when trying to adopt a dog and I completely understand and support this process as I am aware that there are some very bad pet owners out there and the Rescue does everything it can to prevent dogs from going into unhealthy/abusive homes or situations.

They also want to make sure that the dogs will be a good fit for each family, especially when there are other pets or children in the home. They love these dogs and I appreciate how thorough and responsible this Rescue is. Many of these dogs come to Dog Town Rescue abused and/or sick. It takes A LOT of time and money to rehabilitate and foster them until they are ready to go home with their new families.

Being that this is a non-profit rescue and I've seen first-hand the love and care that goes into taking care of these dogs, I will continue to support them in any way I can. They work their butts off! I encourage everyone who's looking to adopt a dog to check out Dog Town Rescue and, if you're able to, donate and/or shop there to help support this passionate Rescue. I will be forever grateful to this Rescue for introducing me one of my little "ankle biters". LOL

May I suggest Home at Last dog rescue. I was able to adopt a great dog from a loving foster home. Unlike Dog Town, they are caring and I didn't get the third degree and feel like I was on trial to adopt a dog. I raised two amazing & talented daughters. I can raise a dog in a loving family. Home at Last recognized that. We welcomed Kyra into our home & we love her. Happy Holidays! Kim

I've been bringing my German Shorthaired Pointer to Dog Town since she was 6 months old. She's now almost 5 years old and still there 5 days a week while I'm at work. They have the most friendly, accommodating, dog-loving staff around from top to bottom. As the owner of a high-energy GSP, I couldn't think of a better place for her to go to exert her energy.

I know that every single day she's there, she gets the love and attention that she craves. I can't praise the staff and facilities high enough! I highly recommend Dog Town to every owner that is looking to have a happy and fulfilled pup when they come home from a long day of work.

I'm very upset leaving dog town. I left my 7 month old, healthy puppy for 4 days to board at the facility. I got worried mid-vacation, so I called to check on her and was told she's doing great. But, when I picked her up she was covered in crusty red bumps. We have a vet appointment tonight at 9 because I'm worried about why my dog who had never had skin problems now has a huge rash on her head and paws.

I asked while I was there and was told "it's probably just the heat." The people at the front desk told me its scrapes from playing. It's CLEARLY a bumpy red rash. She also has hives on her back. She also drank an entire bowl of water when I got her home and is very lethargic. She may just be tired, but she isn't acting herself. All I know is I'll try another facility next time I go away.

One that's cleaner, won't crate my dog, and won't leave her with yucky itchy red bumps on her head, neck and paws. UPDATE: The vet told me Riley was having a severe allergic reaction to something topical. My friend told me (which I was unaware of before) that if the dogs get too rowdy, the staff sprays them with a mixture of water and dog deodorant?

First of all, my puppy is 7 months old. She's going to be rowdy. That's why she's there. If I had known they'd spray her, I never would have brought her. Second of all, they need to tell people what they are spraying their dogs with. It all makes sense now why she was soaking wet when I picked her up. I will never bring her back, and I'd caution you to do the same. I'm looking at Holiday House or Pabby's instead.
