This beautifully marked, inquisitive girl, loves people and will snuggle in your lap.

Hi! I have to give 1 star because you closed and didn't update your website. I desperately needed food for my sick dog and I took off work early to get there by 6 and the woman at the door told me (bitterly) that they closed early. This store need to pay more attention to the customer-facing aspects of the business!

I've tried to give this business a shot for a while and it always end up disappointing. Three months ago I reached out to this place looking for dog training, I was told that I will get a call back in January for availability and I never heard back. Then I went there to seek nutrition advice for my puppy and the clerk was utterly unhelpful. The last straw was yesterday, as I attempted to book a grooming session for my puppy.

I never got a call back confirming the appointment and when I showed up there, I was told that they were booked until March and that they would call me back for availability. This store definitely doesn't want my business so it will not get it. Thanks for nothing

I love this store because some of the staff are very knowledgeable about pet food and treats. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Love this place. It's clean, has high-quality products, and most importantly, amazing staff. Brian (as I'm sure other staff are too) is so knowledgeable and patient. He knows dogs better than anyone I've met. We will keep coming back.

Dropped in here today to look around for some items for my dog and niecepup. While I was thoroughly imoressed with the layout and variety of products. The customer service for me and my daughter were non existing. The cashier greeted patrons who entered after me and those who were retrieving their pet from them yet never did she acknowledge our presence.

I wanted to buy a few items however, that left a sour taste in my mouth and my pockets and I chose to keep my money so I can buy the items some place else. Customer service seems to be a lost art yet there are some of us who still value and hold it dear. I'll never visit this location again so thanks.

I love this place and they gave my pup a great cut. However, when they quoted me for a cut over the phone they told me it would be $50-60. My husband didn't know they quoted me this and just paid it not realizing it was wrong. A couple weeks later he told me they charged him $90. I should have called them to complain but it felt too late. Either way, I didn't think $90 (plus tip) was fair price at all.

My grooming appointment was canceled just hours before the time and I had made a lot of plans around that timing and they didn't offer any type of compensation. This appt. was in Maryland

The staff is always helpful, attentive, and friendly! They always let me know about deals on cat food and check my rewards balance. They make you feel like a member of a community, they always greet me by name I wont go anywhere else.

I LOVE going to Loyal Companion in Pikesville! They have the BEST treats for even the pickiest pups! The staff is so knowledgeable and are a great resource! Please STOP shopping at PetSmart and Petco! Loyal Companion is the way to go!

I just got my pup groomed by Andrea at this location. It was a great experience and she did a wonderful job. He is a 6 month old Scottish Terrier, so finding a groomer who knows how to properly cut scotties is tough, but she was great. She followed through with all of my odd requests, and he turned out exactly as I had hoped. Scotties are also not the easiest to groom, but she was very kind and said he was good, even though I bet he was not haha. Definitely recommend! The first picture was taken before and the last two after!

Love this spot. The staff are always great & super welcoming to my Sophie girl. Mike has helped Sophie mentally, physically and emotionally. My dog, compared to her siblings (who's pet parents don't realize the importance of pet health) look completely different than she does. She's more sharp, athletic, her fur is softer and in her 9.5 years of life she hasn't had many serious health problems (knock on wood). Mike is our pet nutritionist, and I always spread the word about him/this place!

I went back intending to buy a 15 pound bag of Fromm's (black/gold) adult dog food, a package of 12 bully sticks, and more. Just like my last visit they were out of stock for both items. They were also out of stock of 5lb bags of the dog food. The manager was nice enough, but it's hard to understand this. Other stores have these items! Loyal Companion would seem to have a tough time with knowing what inventory levels to keep. Why should I keep shopping here?

If I could give ten stars, I would. The staff at loyal companion newton is fantastic. Mike goes out of his way to assist you. I have a picky eater and Mike made helpful suggestions and spent thirty minutes with me (hopefully I wasn't too much of a pain). I highly recommend this place. Top notch service

Just tried to drop our dog (who has years of experience being groomed) at the groomer at Loyal Companion for his first time there. Less than 10 minutes after we left, we get a call that our dog is being too aggressive (he's not aggressive at all) and they can't get him in the tub and we need to come back and get him. While I would always want the safety of the employees to be priority, this is clearly a groomer who wasn't good at his job.

Just learned that a friend had the EXACT same experience with their 25 pound dog who was "too aggressive". Tried to give this local shop some business but they just lost me as a customer.

I was really disappointed in the do-it-yourself baths. There are only two sinks with not much space between them in a room that's closed, making it hot and steamy. Unlike other places I've been, there were no accessories to use- no brush, no wipes, no whammies for drying. There was barely room to put my jacket. Shampoo was dispensed really lightly and never got sudsy.

No one told me how to work anything- they just pointed to the room. I was a big fan of Especially for Pets and I expected more from Loyal Companion. I'll still buy dog food there because it's convenient but that's it.

Very helpful staff with good knowledge of stock items. Sad that I was enticed to the store because of a lovely but useless discount coupon postcard intended only for use at your new Beverly, MA store, which is a long way from Falls Church, VA!

I always love bringing my guys here. They are loved fondly by the whole staff. The staff knows my two corgis by name and always shower them in treats (after asking if it's okay and after confirming any allergies) every time I bring them by. The staff here is super helpful finding the perfect treats and food for my little ones. I was surprised one time that they remembered my cat prefers beef flavor. Would recommend them to my family and friends.

Terrible! Signed up for Puppy Kindergarten and the teacher showed up 45 minutes late for a 1 hour class. Throughout, a store worker was trying to call her with no response. Total waste of time. In addition, they charged me twice for Puppy K. When I mentioned it they said they've been experiencing an issue with it- so it seems really unethical to not check if they did charge someone twice. Good thing I checked my bill. Stay away!

Rude staff. Called to ask if I could reurn something and they told me no problem. Go to return and guess what, it's a problem. Made a 45 minute drive for nothing. UPDATE- they told me to contact district manager who never called or emailed me back and it's been over a week!

The man of the house had his schooling here. Yes, the man of the house is a Goldendoodle! EFP is a great example of supporting a local business, and they - in turn - support other causes when they do nail clips, the holiday photos and other things that you can find out about via their website and Facebook page. Locations all around the 'burbs, so you can get your BFF something to keep him/her healthy/happy and looking stylish "furever".

Only bad thing was the puppy class though: I know puppy class can be a little hard. It's a room full of puppies who are looking at each other and probably thinking "hey, it's you again!" and they just aren't thinking anything after that. Our instructor was Martha, and we had another family in this class that was doing private training in their home at the same time. Now, on the first night of class, Martha made it clear that the person(s) coming to class should be the one(s) most in charge of the puppy. i.e. if you had a small child, that obviously wasn't to mean that the child was coming. Well, the family that was doing the private training would show up with Mom, Dad, 3 SMALL kids (seriously, the youngest wasn't even 2) and the puppy.

Just the kids were distracting enough for all of the puppies! It was obvious that this was a conflict of interest, and I got so annoyed that I didn't even go to the last two nights of class. So, big points to EFP for their whole business, but the class experience really knocked down my rating. I wanted him to go to "graduate puppy" or try some agility after that, but wouldn't do it at Newton since I didn't want to deal with Martha again.
