I needed a new vet for my dogs and prior to being able to do so one of them got sick. I was able to call and they fit me in that day. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet and got us checked in quickly. The vet himself was wonderful and talked to me like a human being. I've been to so many places where the vets talk down to clients and I didn't get that feeling form any of the staff.
My dogs both have heart issues and are often on new meds which can mess with their daily routines and having a general vet who I can trust is very important to me. They didn't try and sell me on unneeded tests or medicines, and they didn't have an issue that I get their joint meds and probiotics off of Amazon as opposed to ordering through them. They were genuinely concerned about my dogs health and we talked about preventative care in the future.
I look forward with working with them to ensure my dogs can live the healthies and longest lives possible. Their rooms and waiting area was also very clean and we were able to safely space ourselves from other pet parents while we waited :

Dr. Germann Made an assumption about my cats dietary preferences without using scientific data involving my cat and had me purchase expensive medicated wet food that was not for my cats diagnosed kidney condition, while additionally having me purchase an ear cream that encouraged my cat to eat more of this expensive high protein food. This food did not help my cats condition, she continued puking, and it wasn't until I brought her to another vet that this incorrect diet was addressed, attributing to why my cats condition was not improving.
When I asked AVAH about this incorrect treatment, Dr. Germann claimed my cat did not like the kidney care medicated wet food, but my cat had not yet been on this diet and there was no evidence of my cat disliking it. Once placed on the appropriate diet that the new vet had noted, my cats condition improved. I was not compensated by AVAH in any way for their improper treatments. Seeking to change vets, I called AVAH to request my pets records and test results 3 times and got nothing.
I went to the building directly, asked them to print out the test results for me directly, but was declined and told it was available via email only. They confirmed they had my correct email. I emphasized that I needed the test results because in my experience, they've had a history of sending only correspondences and receipts to me. To no surprise, all I received to my email was a list of procedures, receipts, and correspondences, no test results.
The new vet called AVAH and managed to get the records and tests, as AVAH still has not provided them to me directly. Prior to the incident with my cat, AVAH was also caring for my dog. My dog has many allergies that result in horrible skin rashes and ear infections. Dr. Germann emphasized that the allergy correlated to my dogs diet, then when things were continuing to not improve, Dr. Germann implied that my dog was going to suffer from allergies for the remainder of her life without many approaches to managng her suffering, encouraging us to purchase an expensive allergy test and Heska allergy shots.
I had to bring my dog to the emergency animal hospital because the allergy shot caused her to get welting hives and vomit. Took her to the new vet after the incident, they said to not give her anymore shots and that given the test results they received from AVAH, a food allergen is not a prominent cause of my dogs suffering and a dietary adjustment is not necessary.
Her environmental allergies could be soothed/managed with a basic allergy pill during her prime allergy seasons, no shots needed. Could also buy hypoallergenic shampoo, giver her soothing oatmeal baths, etc. There were multiple approaches that could have helped soothe my dogs suffering over the last 5 years, none of which were noted as a possibility by Dr. Germann throughout my dogs treatment.
After spending thousands of dollars on allergy shots, tests, blood work, ear infection treatments, and nearly 5 years of my poor dog suffering, needless to say, I am appalled. If you love your pet, go somewhere else. I have had pets in my life for 30 years and never have I ever encountered a vet as poor of quality as Ashburn Villiage Animal Hospital.

I've been to a few different vets in the last few years and never really been happy with the care we received, until I came to Ashburn Village Animal Hospital. They have been so wonderful and clearly deeply care about your pet. Dr. Germann took a lot of time to discuss my pets with me and showed genuine interest in them. The vet techs and staff have all been fabulous and professional while juggling covid curbside care.

Amazing vet in the Ashburn area. They've been so attentive and sweet to my pups and I'm always impressed with how quickly they can help! I was so appreciative when I had to email them about an issue with my dog and they were beyond helpful and understanding via email. They have also been amazing with curb-side services, big thanks to everyone working here!
