We have the experience, facility, and fields needed to train any breed of dog for hunting or general obedience. An important part of our training program is training the owner to give them the tools and knowledge needed to reinforce the dog's training once it is at home. Formalized training of this nature instills pride in your dog and enables it to gain confidence and develop into a dependable hunting companion or family dog. A well trained dog is such a joy to live with. Invest in training for your dog and receive the benefits for many years.
Services
Each dog has a unique personality and temperament. When you bring your dog to Wings and Whistles, we structure our training program around your dog's nature. We are dedicated to training through positive reinforcement and repetition. In this way, your dog will eagerly develop to its fullest potential.
Our general obedience course is for the non-hunting, family dog. Your dog will be taught the regular commands: sit, stay, come, and heel along with other household manners. Part of this involves working on and off leash, e-collar conditioning, and situations with distractions. Our goal is to return to you a well behaved family dog who is a joy to live with.

Bird and Gun Intro is a ten day beginner course designed to give your dog a positive exposure to live birds and proper gun exposure. This a crucial step to starting a confident gun dog. We will be developing this through a progression of steps to create a positive bird and gun association. There is no formal obedience done during this program, this is all positive association. The ideal age to start Bird and Gun Intro is 6 months, but it can be done any time after this assuming there hasn't been any gun exposure.

"Miracle Mike" and "Awesome Andrew" as we refer to them as from Wings & Whistles Dog Training & Boarding Facility has been coming into our home for 1 hour a day Monday-Friday for the last 2 weeks to work with our 5 1/2 month old Goldendoodle Norman. I have never used a training facility like this before but not only were they caring with Norman (which he LOVED them) He worked with us as they worked with Norman and we call him Miracle Mike because not only does he have some super power dog whisperer talent, he had Norman doing things with-in the first day and really worked with us to help make Norman successful! Norman graduated today and on a scale of 1-10 I would rank them a 20!

They do use a shock collar, which I was not sure about but they never went over a 2 and 95% of the time he used a 1. The corrections were few and the response was amazing! We loved the at-home training because there was no transition from the facility to our home. If your dog needs training (no matter what age) I would 100% recommend this place with-out hesitation. THEY ARE AMAZING! Worth every penny!

Brought our Brittany for obedience and hunting training. She had a phenomenal time and learned a number of new skills/etiquette. She's still her happy self, but now we have the tools to communicate acceptable behavior with her. The staff were kind and knowledgeable and I was very impressed with their clear communication and process too. Would recommend to anyone.

We love Wings and Whistles! Been taking our Great Dane and Rottweiler mix there for boarding for four years, whenever we are out of town. This staff KNOWS dogs. They are pleasant and very accomodationg. With our Rott, at nine years old, they are attentive to her needs. Our GD did obedience training here when she was a pup and we saw noticeable changes. We love that they get to go out several times a day to run and play on the large property. Highly recommend!

In Home Obedience Training resulted in a well-trained dog who is happy being allowed to play leash free. We have a 6-month-old border collie with a teenager and a 7-year-old son. It is important that our dog be well mannered, safe, and happy. We were hesitant when we learned about ecollar training but our prior "treat training" experience was not working.

I was pleasantly surprised by how effective the training is and how happy it made her. Even after I correct her behavior, my dog wags her tail and bounces over to me proud of herself. Our main goals were to have her come when called, sit, lay down, avoid jumping, and calm down (she is a border collie) when play time is over. The in-home training at Wings & Whistles accomplished all of our goals.

Because it was in her home, Andrew and Mike were able to work on issues specific to us. What I did not expect is how happy it would make her and the rest of the family. She gets MORE walks and play time now that our kids feel she will listen to them. If you are on the fence, call now and they will happily walk you through how it works. You will not regret the small time and effort it takes to ensure a happier family.

We got obedience training for our two Golden Retrievers (brothers) with Rachel and our experience and results were AWESOME! Both dogs came home with new skills, very responsive to our direction. Especially a solid reliable recall. Total game-changer for us! And they seem seem happier and more confident, knowing what is expected of them and who is in charge. Highest recommendation!

Mike and Corey -and all the staff and trainers- were a pleasure to work with. Our dog is now well trained but still has his same fun spirit. Great place and great people who love what they do!

They KNOW dogs. By far the best place to board and train your dog. Especially a big one! They trained 2 of our labs previously. We have a puppy that's a Great Dane and English Mastiff mix (120 pounds at 10 months). We can't take him to many other facilities because the workers look him in the eye, approach him straight on, and squeal at him (causing him to growl and get defensive and scared). Wings and Whistles ignores him, let's him sniff and get comfy, and then pet him and talk to him in a normal voice. We're going to be getting him collar trained there in May

Rachel did a great job with our British lab, Blue, and we couldn't be more happy! He has been a great dog around the house since getting home from W&W and she gave us great tools to continue the training for when he was home. It felt good leaving him with someone we could trust. We have since recommended a few friends to send their pups in for training. Thanks again

We recently enrolled two dogs in training at Wings & Whistles, and the results literally changed our lives. We now have well-behaved, active members of our family who always have a job to do and know their limits. The training Rachel did with them and us is amazing, and the entire staff is friendly and super responsive. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend Wings & Whistles to our friends and family! Elsie & A.R. Weiler (and Loki and Pepper)

Mike did an amazing job over the last two years with my golden retriever, Rollo. He is well trained and is developing into a great waterfowl and upland dog as he gains experience. The entire wings and whistles staff are dedicated and friendly, and did a tremendous Job with my pup, training was very customized to his personality and my goals.
