EDIT: Their response is 100% lies. I have all the paperwork showing what they prescribed, and I have the prescription bottle with the remaining pills. Verifiable proof that they prescribed double the dose. Believe what you will, but proceed at your own risk. ------ TL;DR: Vet intentionally delayed my attempts to get my dog's prescription filled at a different pharmacy, overcharged me for my prescription and wrote the prescription for DOUBLE the acceptable dose for my dog.
I will be filing complaints with the Veterinary Board in CT and with the American Veterinary Medical Association. ------ Full Review Below -------- This vet is dangerous and will rip you off. Be very careful taking your animals here, and if you do, make sure to get a second opinion regarding any prescriptions they write before giving them to your dog.
My 40 lb Border Collie tested positive for Lyme disease last Monday at East Brook AH. Due to mine and my gf's working arrangements and car situation, I was unable to return to the clinic until today (Saturday) to retrieve the prescription. I requested their assistance getting the prescription filled by Chewy so that I could get the medicine asap and begin treatment.
They at first pretended to be confused by the question, as if they had never even heard of anything so preposterous as to choose which pharmacy fills your prescription. Then they intentionally delayed. First telling me they'd email me the written prescription details, only to call me back at the end of the day and tell me they were wrong and they are not able to email me a prescription, claiming it was illegal to do so.
I do not know if this is true, but I can't find any evidence to support that claim. They then proceeded to intentionally delay throughout Wednesday and most of Thursday, not providing confirmation to Chewy regarding the validity of my prescription order. That left me back in a situation where the fastest way for me to get the medication would be to pick it up from the vet directly on Saturday morning when I would have a car available again.
I arrive on Saturday morning, and they tell me that my Doxycycline prescription will cost $105. I ask them how urgent it is that I begin treatment ASAP or if I can safely get the written prescription so I can purchase it at a lower cost elsewhere. They insist that it needs to be started as soon as possible - this after them having intentionally delayed my ability to obtain the prescription sooner for the entire week.
Then I get home and see the prescription they wrote. My dog weighs 40 lbs. The Doxycycline prescription they wrote calls for 400mg a day to be given to him. 40 lbs is equal to 18 Kilograms. For a dog, the acceptable dose for the treatment of Lyme and anaplasmosis is up to 10mg per Kilogram per day (split between two doses). For a dog of 18 KG, that comes out to 180mg a day, so 200mg a day would be close enough to be a safe dosage.
They prescribed over double the recommended dosage for a dog of his size, which if I did not know better could have been extremely dangerous for his health. I can't even explain how livid I am. They arrogantly and smugly still insist that the prescription is correct. I will be filing complaints with the Connecticut State Board of Veterinary Medicine as well as the American Veterinary Medical Association.
This place should not have the opportunity to put the health and well being of people's pets at rsk, providing prescriptions that are dangerous to people that don't know any better than to trust the vet implicitly. East Brook is violating and abusing that trust, and risking the health of your pet so that they can profit off of you in the short term. Avoid this place at all costs.

I brought my 3 yo Dog Suma there to recieve trauma care, as he had been just hit by a car on 195. They did a fine job stabilizing him, as He was in severe shock. They put a splint on his broken leg, and medicated him so I was able to transport him to Bolton Veterinary as they are our regular vets. The Doctor did all this between her regular appts. They most probably saved his life. They were very kind and did an excellent job.

This was our first visit to East Brook Animal Hospital. Staff were very friendly and accommodating with Barrow because he is not good with other dogs. Doctor Denapoli was great with us explaining everything in detail while being patient with my hearing loss. She is so knowledgeable regarding dog behavior and will be helping us with Barrow's issues. There aftercare is excellent, receiving good communication is very important to us. We are very happy with our choice of East Brook Animal Hospital.

Took my 75lb dog here for a first time appointment. He has high anxiety and is reactive to his environment, but the professionals here made us feel welcomed and accepted. They treated my baby like he was any other loving creature. He could tell and it certainly helped him to relax. Thank you for your care!

The people who work at this hospital are the friendliest and most professional. They take care of our pet for more than 8 years and they've never once wasted our time. Everything is done right and thoroughly. The treatment and prescription are on the conservative side and we like that. We're glad that this hospital is so close to us. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

They take great care of my two girls, especially my purebred Himalayan who has some unique health issues. They're so nice and friendly to me and my kitties and are willing to work with difficult schedules. If you need an appointed soon, they'll work with you to get your pet checked out. I love the vets here and they take great care of my girls.

I love, love, love this place! I really can't rave enough. I have 3 cats and a dog and they all go here. I used to live in farmington and go to a different vet and I ha e to say everything there was 10x more expensive! I was shocked when I went to pay at East Brook. Not only were they kind, attentive and knowledgeable, but they don't try to take an arm and a leg for service. I highly recommend this vet!
