Awesome people, very knowledgeable! Critters are healthy and well taken care of. This is the only place I know of to get live food for reptiles anywhere near Newton/Derby/Andover/Cheney areas

Too expensive. Some employees are rude at times. They always want you to buy more than what's for the pet. So going to buy a bearded dragon there is 130 bucks excluding the accessories. I rather go to exotic pets they only charge 50 and their animals are well taken care of

Always love coming into this store. The owners are more often than not, on hand to answer any questions and help with anything they can! Very down to earth guys and they try to have knowledgeable staff on. I really enjoy these kids who are dedicated to learning all they can while working with Tails, they always make me smile!

We bought a Red Iguana two weeks ago. He already looks good. Cant wait till he gets bigger. Good people there. Helped us even though they were in the middle of getting a delivery of goods. Thanks.

THIS IS A CUSTOMER SERVICE REVIEW FOR KENDRICK! i am planning to get a ball python after i move so i called and talked to Kendrick. i am so pleased with Tails & Scales after calling and talking to him. he is very knowledgeable about exotics and incredibly kind and understanding about my concerns. often times, exotics are overlooked and not cared for properly and many non specialty pet shops do not treat exotics with the specialized care that they need, so i was concerned about finding a good place locally for my future pet. after talking with Kendrick i know exactly where i'm getting my ball and its first setup (here, of course)! thanks so much to Kendrick for answering all of my questions so close to closing time. Tails & Scales definitely knows what they're doing when it comes to snakes and i am so excited to become a customer. thanks so much, see you soon!

Appreciate this store because it is the only pet store in our area, otherwise we'd have to travel to Wichita or Oklahoma. That being said, they are often out of product, stuff is very overpriced, and selection of animals is minimal. Staffing is hit or miss as some workers are very kind, others are very rude. Store is decent as far as cleanliness, but large pet snakes are kept in enclosures way too small for them, and there have been multiple instances where feeder rats are out and about wandering the store.

Store was pretty clean and was approached by nice staff quickly asking if I needed assistance. Encountered a few sights I wasn't thrilled with but that's pretty typically of all pet shops. Weekend staff didn't know when the last time my purchase was fed but it ate right after getting home so it all worked out. Overall was a decent experience and my kiddos enjoyed looking at all the creatures :

One of the best pet shops I have ever been too staff was friendly and very knowledgeable there selection of tarantula and scorpions was amazing we baught 7 scorpions and happy to say i would drive three hours again they even threw in free crickets and fruit flies it's the little things that mattered and we will be back again that I promise

Zack was so helpful he answered all my questions about iguanas I ended up buying my second one there! They have a beautiful albino iguana in the shop who is just so sweet. At one point I thought he was going to try to up sale me on a heat light but instead he told me the cheaper one was the better of the two

Being a pet rat owner. After seeing the pictures of the feeder rat posted by Karla k. I called Tails And Scales to ask if this is the way they treat their feeder rats. I talked to a person who I guess is the owner, to find out what those pictures where about. He explained that the picture was from a couple of years ago and that rat should have been put down.

He added, the rat came from a breeder who didn't take very good care of his animals. He told me that he doesn't do business with that breeder anymore for that reason. I would hope that anyone who see's animals in less than ideal health to do the same as Karla k. did and let people know. I haven't been to the Tails And Scales pet store yet, but I believe they care for the animals they have, as any owner would. That is the rest of the story. Best of luck to Tails And Scales. No way to give them minus stars. any place that would allow an animal to suffer (see photos), even if it's just a "feeder" rat is no place that deserves anyone's business. cruel, sadistic, bastards.
