Pet Haven Veterinary Clinic was established in 1994 by Dr. Dean Loesch, who envisioned a veterinary clinic that provided affordable vaccinations, quality preventative care, and valuable treatment for sick or injured pets in need. In 2003, the torch was passed to Dr. Jim Smith, who had been a key contributing veterinarian at the practice for several years.
Annual dental exams and cleanings are recommended to protect your pet from many health problems and help them maintain a healthy and clean mouth. Proper diet and nutrition can help your pet fight against disease, maintain a proper weight, and promote the overall well-being of your pet. We're equipped to perform routine radiography services to identify many types of illness or injury when pets are sick or suffer a trauma.
Patient admissions are as follows, by appointment only. Examinations - Appointments are available Monday through Friday. Follow-up appointment scheduling will be determined by the Doctor and the needs of your pet. Surgery - Surgery appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday and will require you to contact the office directly.

After 20 years of taking my pets there I woke up and something was terribly wrong with my cat. I immediately called. Its Friday morning and they just opened. Not only can't they see her til Monday they wouldn't give me the actual name of an emergency vet. I used to love this place. Never going back. I will never go back and I will actively tell folks they dont care about pets, just profit.

Poor customer service. Signage posted tells customers to wait outside, but As a black man, I was upset that I wasn't greeted the same way I saw a middle aged white customer greeted. Moments after my arrival. Instead I waited outside in the cold for 15 minutes before just walking in so my pet could receive shots. Front desk workers made zero to no effort to accommodate. Other than the poor initial contact, and mediocre customer service from front desk workers, service was quick and the doctor did great with my pet.

We just moved to Wichita and these were the first vets I contacted to get my dog's shots updated. This visit was pretty straight-forward and aside from the vet seeming nervous around my very docile elderly dog, we had no problems. For his second visit, we arrived on time, called the front desk, and waited for the vet assistant to come outside. The guy asked if I had a mask and I replied that I left it at home.
I asked if they had one I could use and he told me no, which meant I couldn't enter the building but they could do the visit outside. The temperature on this particular morning was probably no more than 40 degrees tops. I might be a bit spoiled by his previous vet (Little Apple Vets in Manhattan, KS) who we had for years, but one would expect that a business that requires masks could at least provide one for customers.
Pet Haven may be great at what they do; I wasn't with them long enough to experience their services. We were just a little turned off by our experience and I felt the need to share for other potential customers to consider.

I got a recommendation for a friend to go here and at first it was wonderful. Then I noticed my dog had tap worms and asked if the stuff they had give to him a week prior that it would take care of it and to come to find out by a different vet they he was never treated for them! They also gave us flea and tick medicine that he has already grown out of and we paid well over 100 bucks for the box! I will not be going back here and I hope you don't take your pet here either.

This place sucks. Front desk staff are very rude, they have been rude to both me and my husband. Said that the drop off time was 7:30 but when we got there they just looked through the window and ignored us. They double changed me for a neuter which they refunded but it took a week to get fixed and I had to go in to deal with their mistakes. (accidents happen but just another annoying thing to add to the list). Called to see if I could get my dog in because he was throwing up blood and they said they didn't have any time for at least a week and they were rude about it. Cheap and okay vet care I guess but I would rather pay more and not be treated rudely.

Pet Haven sent us a reminder for my cat to get vaccines. We called to make an appointment for this and they scheduled us for an exam and didn't give her vaccines. When I called about it, they said the only thing they could do is schedule vaccines and the $56 we paid went towards the 5 minute "more thorough" exam that she apparently received. They normally give her a physical along with the vaccines, so basically we are paying double the amount to get done what they initially were supposed to do.
I will not be back unless they fix this situation. They also gave us the wrong paperwork for our dog's rabies vaccines and we have to make a second trip to rectify that situation.

I was barely late for my appointment and so they cancelled it and would not see my pet. This is very frustrating as my pet is in very bad condition and I already had to wait 2 business days for this appointment. Nowhere in the appointment process does it warn you of this. I would not recommend this vet.

I agree with the other recent reviews that this clinic has gone steeply down hill over the past few years. I have been a customer for many years with numerous pets. The reception staff are rude, incompetent and uncaring. It's a shame that they allow these people to represent their care, because I do feel that the doctors are competent and caring. I've even given them multiple chances, thinking that it was likely a bad day. Now that I read their responses to reviews -- it seems that they aren't concerned.

Awful experience. My dog was very sick, lethargic, and had trouble walking and using the bathroom. They told us my dog most likely had arthritis because she herd popping when she pressed on his back and sides. we took him home only for him to decline even worse in symptoms. We took him to another vet where they quickly realized her had several broken ribs. I don't understand how Pet Haven mistook broken bones for arthritis? My dog could have died if he went untreated for the broken ribs. I do not recommend this vet.

Absolutely horrible we have been clients for over 20 years. This place has gone steadily downhill over the last five years. I do not care about animals all they care about is money. We had an emergency situation with our dog and was told maybe they could get us in June 1. Your condescending response is further evidence of how arrogant and clueless you and your staff have become. Good luck in the future.you will need it.

My pet was sick overnight and having trouble breathing. Called and they said I had to get my pet her yearly checkup and examination before I could bring her in. The wait was about a week. I explained the situation and the receptionist said "just make her comfortable". I said my pet might not make it a week. Receptionist said "you can always take her somewhere else." So I did!

We started taking our dog and cat here a few years ago as it's conveniently located and they are able to get us in quickly. The staff has always been friendly, professional and knowledgeable and insures all of our questions are answered before leaving the clinic. Our dog has had both ACLs replaced at Pet Haven and after both surgeries they've called multiple times to let us know how he's doing and called after he's home to check in. You can see that the staff genuinely cares about their patients and practice and wants to help everyone's pet to live a long and happy life.

I took my 6 yr lab in she was drinking a lot of water and not eating they gave her antibiotics and told my wife to bring her back in two days if things dont improve. well the next day she went down hill fast. They would not schedule a appointment that day. We took her to the emergency dog clinic her spleen was bleeding she was drowning in her own blood.
She died thanks Pet Haven I will never bring another pet to you ever again. Oh and they sent me a card after her death you can imagine how that made me feel. If they would have done a sonigram or xray we would have known and could have possibly saved her.

Pet Haven schedules asap & gave me the best prices! I called many places, I needed rabies vaccine for my pup before his groomers apt. Every other vet I called was either wanting to spade him (part of package) or charge me $$ for simply coming into the office. Pet Haven was really clean, the staff was friendly. Prices were affordable! We were in and out in less than thirty min.
