At the Pooch Palace your dog will find a climate controlled home-away-from home, complete with air conditioning in the summer, heated floors in the winter, their own private room with a window at just their height, an indoor lounge area with a fireplace and an outdoor play area with plenty of trees and the smells they love! At the Pooch Palace we will do our best to provide a routine for your dog that is consistent with the routine they follow at home. Our goal is to provide a calm and relaxing environment for your pet.

Please check the calendar below for room availability. Green indicates we currently have rooms available for those dates, red indicates that there are no rooms currently available for those dates. We do have a waiting list, so you could request to be placed on that list, and we would contact you ASAP if a room becomes available!
If you have a pup that is spayed or neutered, and is able to get along with other dogs, then the Palace is the right place for you! Reservations can be made up to a year in advance and should be made as far in advance as possible. The 18 rooms at the Pooch Palace fill up quickly! Please email us as soon as you know you will be needing accommodations for your dog. Schedule a complimentary pre-boarding visit so that you and your dog can come check things out and we can find out how best to meet your needs.

We love the Pooch Palace! It's the only place I will ever take my dogs. They come home happy, exhausted and honestly, I think they have such a fun time they're not even that happy to see me when I show up to get them. My three dogs have stayed there on multiple occasions, up to two weeks. The price is more than reasonable, the facility is nice, the outdoor play area is what dogs dream of.
I can't say enough nice things, I tell anyone who listens about it and how much we love having a place to take the dogs where we know they're getting attention, getting to play for hours, getting treats and love.

I'm so glad we found the Pooch Palace. Our dogs Kiva and Polli have been for short get always and long two week stays and I miss them but don't "worry about them". Rene and Ashley take great care of my fur kids. They have never gotten hurt or sick. Kiva will not get in a standard kennel so the nice rooms are perfect for him. It's a home away from home.

Best dog boarding I've ever found! I've tried other boarding in the Iowa City area and nothing compares. Our pup, Koda, is very introverted and an extremely picky eater, but Pooch Palace has always managed to bring Koda out of his shell and coax him into eating all of his meals! The staff is personable and friendly, and the facility is homey and clean.
I especially love that the dogs are able to get outside to socialize in a fenced-in wooded lot, and that each dog stays in their own room, not a caged kennel - which makes me feel better about leaving him there for several days while we're out of town. Psst. and the pricing is only $2 more per night than other boarding places in the Iowa City area! Whaaat?!
