We can create a regular daily or weekly dog walking or running schedule, or customize a schedule to accommodate your needs. Pet sitter travels to your home to care for your pet. Dog walks, pet playtime, fresh water and feeding, litter box scooping, medication administration and mail retrieval all included. Your Pet Sitter stays overnight in the comfort of your own home, for a minimum 12 hour period.

Claws and Paws Pet Sitting Service of North County San Diego is owned and operated by Gina McGrath of Encinitas. We invite you to read our pet sitter biographies, we are proud of our years of combined experience in pet care. I grew up with a menagerie of pets, including birds, fish, a cat, and dogs.
Each year, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized (670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats). The number of dogs and cats euthanized in U.S. shelters annually has declined from approximately 2.6 million in 2011. This decline can be partially explained by an increase in the percentage of animals adopted and an increase in the number of stray animals successfully returned to their owners. If you'd like to add a new pet to your family, please consider saving a life instead of buying a pet. Also, please stop the cycle of unwanted pets.

When we lived in the same vicinity in our prior home, Gina had taken care of our pups, kitties and ferrets, and she STILL IS the ONLY person my husband and I ever felt comfortable with leaving our key with for a prolonged period of time! We had terrible experiences with other sitters that I prefer not to recount. Suffice to say, that Gina is OUTSTANDING in EVERY ASPECT! (The BEST we've EVER Encountered after Experiencing several mediocre and poor situations with people who lacked skills in one area or another)! Gina scores 100% = a triple-A RATING in EVERY AREA and our pets ALL loved her, and our puppy literally jumped inside her car window whenever she pulled into our driveway, which, in actuality made her truly extraordinary!

Gina and Jen were remarkable. We had total peace of mind being so far away in another country. Our dogs have never been happier upon our return. We had communication when needed, the dogs were able to stay on "their own" schedule even though it meant early breakfast and getting up. Very professional!

Gina and Claws & Paws have been dog sitting for our pups for the past 13 years now. Gina is amazing. She has helped us with dogsittig and walking while we have been on vacation, has picked up and met me at the vet for a re-check for 1 of the pups so I wouldn't have to take so much time away from work. She went to the house, picked up 'Peanut', met me at the vet, then took 'Peanut' back home while I went back to work.
Now if that isn't first rate customer service, I don't know what is! Gina is kind and loving, reliable and really cares for 4 legged family. I don't trust anyone else to help take care of our pups. Sincerely, Patty Bevington Encinitas

Gina watched our 4 family pets - a Bernese Mountain Dog, a Mini Australian Shepherd, a Handsome Rescue Pup, and a Grey Feline - for a week while we were on vacation. Gina had taken care of them once before, so we knew they were in good hands. But we had no idea that our Handsome Rescue Pup would run into medical issues that would make us doubly. glad they were in Gina's care. Gina went above and beyond - taking him to the vet, sending constant updates, spending extra time with him, asking friends in the vet community for advice, etc. Gina had a long list of instructions for "the guys." Our BMD gets special medications, the Mini Aussie needs "dessert, " the Feline eats in a separate room. Gina handled everything perfectly.
We were also gone over the July 4th holiday and worried about them dealing with the fireworks. Gina promised to be home with them before the festivities began and stayed with them all night. We came home to 4 happy animals! Gina is both an animal lover and a professional. We highly recommend Gina!

I have my own animal training and pet services business and when I can't take a job I always recommend Gina at Claws and Paws Pet Sitting Service. I recommend her because I know she is a true professional with over 20 years experience caring for animals and she uses positive reinforcement when she is handling dogs. I never recommend anyone who does not handle dogs in a loving way.
