The Animal Keeper

Great place for your doggy. I brought my dog Sherpa initially for doggy daycare to socialize pending temperament test for future boarding. The Staff were totally understanding of Sherpa's demeanor. Sherpa is a 5 y/o Schnauzer Mix Rescue. The Staff at the Animal Keeper we're wonderful, patient, informative, providing above and beyond customer service, and knowledge of Rescue dogs was exemplary. Kudos to the Staff at the Animal Keeper: Justin, Gracie, Raberta, Danica, Brian, Shannon. thank you. I highly recommend the Animal Keeper.

The Animal Keeper is the best! Been a customer for many years. The staff is awesome and the groomers do a great job. It's the only place we take our dog too. Highly recommend!

We have not traveled much with Covid so haven't needed to board the pups. Last summer we flew East to visit family and boarded our two Boston Terriers with The Animal Keeper in Poway. We were new to San Diego and I found The Animal Keeper online after reading so many positive reviews. We were thrilled with our experience. Our pups were well taken care of by the friendly and professional staff. We had them bathed and their nails trimmed the day we picked them up. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend The Animal Keeper.

I am a rescue owner for 2.7 years(covid adoption) of an energetic; smart and lovable mixed jack russell. Animal Keeper staff at Poway have assisted me every step of the way of adjustments for my rescue when I had to return to my classroom for work on site during pandemic. I am a special education teacher and my school/work hours are long. I could not in good conscience leave my fur baby in my apartment alone when I go to work.

The rising costs of everything have also led me to feel I may not be able to continue keeping my rescue. Daniel Byrum (manager) stepped up again yesterday with a plan to assist me and my furbaby in upcoming months. I was in tears to realize that I would not have to relinquish her. My Friday night last night turned completely around after work. My heart is on the mend today and thank you Daniel and all staff at Animal Keeper Poway for showing that there are still good souls/hearts who really care for our precious family additions.

I am so impressed by the level of service at this daycare. We have boarded our dog Tracer here a few times and every time our dog comes home 100% happy and tired from all the play. Recently our dog had an issue with some diarrhea, they immediately called me to ask about how Id like to modify her food so she will feel better. They gave her some sweet potato puree to calm her tummy and the staff members kept a close on her. The fact that they cared that much for even a smaller issue like that really blew me away. So glad I found this place!

My two Chihuahuas, Bruiser and Elle had a good time hanging with their friends at The Animal Keeper this weekend. They played in tiny tots and even had baths! This is their 4th time at The Animal Keeper. The staff is friendly and courteous! I know they cared well for my fur-babies and I would use them again in the future!

Dropped off my girl for a 4 day trip. It was the first time I've left her at a Kennel so we were a bit nervous about how she would handle the new environment. When I picked her up, she was happy, clean, and after arriving at home and getting the wiggles out, she slept hard. Obviously was very active and playing with the other doggies, well. Left a 20% tip and will definitely be back next time we have a trip out of town or need a day or two.

Our dog is our baby and we had some concerns because our husky is not around other dogs a lot. It was a very good experience, they stated he did great and was so tired the next few days it was wonderful. Call first to get a reservation. We will be back.

I took my 11 month old boxer here for the first time and she did really well. All the staff were really kind and gave me tips so she will want to come back. The play and boarding areas are clean. She took a nice nap after coming home from playing. We'll definitely be back

I am very happy for my dog grooming, I went there for the first time and Christina was the groomer. She did a really good job. Will be happy to see her next time.

Very satisfied with the care my small, senior dog received when staying at the Animal Keeper Poway! I was anxious about leaving him for five days but we picked him up happy, energetic, and I felt confident he was well cared for, and all of the staff were very nice and professional. I wish they offered updates or pics, daily or otherwise, but none of the other boarding places do either. Recommended!

We were recommended to this facility by a local pet store. Our dog was under socialized due to Covid and has been working with Justin, who has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND anything we could've expected from him. He has been in constant communication with our family on our dog's progress and is more than willing to invest his time and energy into working on our dog's confidence. We cannot recommend Justin and The Animal Keeper enough!

The staff was very accommodating for myself and my pup, I was visiting family so I needed a grooming. The receptionist Danica was able to help me out right away. She was super friendly and my pup came out gorgeous. I will definitely be coming back!

The Poway Animal Keeper is a wonderful boarding and day facility for pets! We love bringing our dogs here. The staff really gives great amount of care and devotion to them! Thank you Animal Keeper!

Took our Golden Retriver to Animal Keeper for a bath and groom. Staff was nice, but his grooming was not exactly what we were looking for, it was just a miscommunication with the groomer. I called to see what could be done, spoke with assnt. manager Stephanie who said bring him right in to redue to our satifaction. Showed groomer Marlynne a picture of what we wanted. Came to pick him up and it was PERFECT! Animal Keeper is our new go to! Great customer service, convienient and excellent grooming!

Exceptional experience from the moment we booked our pups stay to the moment we picked her up! Evee stayed for 3 nights and 4 days while we were out of town this past weekend. We also had her groomed while she was staying there and boy oh boy was she a pretty clean doggy when we picked her up. We already shared our amazing experience with friends and family but wanted to share it with the world. Customer service was amazing! Thank you again for taking such great care of our sweet girl.

We love the Animal Keeper in Poway. My friend has told me great things multiple times. Georgia had a blast today! I saw her chewing up one of my plants on my Furbo camera after I had already gotten to work (I try to allow her to relax at home for a few hours while I'm gone). As soon as I saw what she was doing, I searched for daycares near me.

I had no clue an Animal Keeper was so close by! I called and the front desk associate was excellent. She took down our information and told me they could have Georgia that same day. I left work to go pick up and drop off Georgia at the Animal Keeper. The front desk associate in person was excellent too (friendly, efficient, quick, knowledgeable). I was disappointed to hear the $40 day care cost as this is not competitive to competitors in the area. I've been able to daycare my pup for as low as $30 per day for a great experience.

Would encourage to adjust prices soon as the Pandemic shut down is getting further behind us. After picking up Georgia, she was clearly so exhausted from playing all day. I felt comfortable knowing my girl was well taken care of while I was at work all day and my plant was able to stay safe back at home!

I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to both Christine and Roberta. It's often said it is the people that make the difference. Earlier I wrote about the price increases and said I'd still take them to Animal Keeper, but was remiss in pointing out why. In short, these two associates are the difference and the main reason we remain loyal and won't go elsewhere. On behalf of the "boys".thank you for making Animal Keeper a wonderful welcoming place.

They were great. Our dog has been a little weird since we have been working from home and also we moved. They were able to give her a room to stay in and some human interaction. They have food if needed for your dogs stay. Although busy they didn't skimp on good customer service.

I'm saddened to hear about the huge increase in the price of grooming. I now have to find someone else to groom my boys. I will miss Kristina's grooming.too bad.

Everything was nice, they were friendly, and efficient! My dogs nails were out of control! lol

Obsessed with this place! My pup has only recently started going but gets so excited every time we pull up and is always pooped when I pick him up. And they even offered a Christmas photoshoot!

What a difference grooming makes! Huge THANKS to Kristina The Animal Keeper for taking such good care of our Twinkles during her grooming. The care and kindness of all of the Animal Keeper Poway staff is overwhelming. I was very nervous about leaving Twinkles given her IVDD and wobble-walking. But everyone watched over her to ensure her safety and comfort. Animal Keeper Poway has always been wonderful but you showed us again just how much you care for our pups. #prettygirl #wirehaireddoxie
