So I've gotten birds from here before. Never had an issue with their health, but their sociability yes. Do not get a bird from here unless they are still babies and/or still hand feeding. Most of the adults are not socialized by the staff and scared and it will be very hard and time consuming to socialize at home. This review is about the customer service.

There is a boy, bigger body type, kind of short, that I asked for help today to see some lovebirds I wanted to purchase. Now before I drop a couple hundred dollars on a bird I'd like to interact with them and see how they are and try to discern how hard it'll be to tame them. He was already annoyed when I asked to see the birds and asked me impatiently if I was going to buy one of them.

That already abrasive and rude attitude turned me off. Then I asked to see the other lovebirds on the opposite side and he gave me the biggest attitude and mumbled something under his breath. This is your JOB dude, if you don't like it LEAVE. Don't take it out on the customers because that is extremely unprofessional and childish and clearly this isn't the job for you because the store just lost my business.

Last time I come here. I've gone to other bird stores where you can tell they care about their birds. The birds I held at the other stores in CT and Long Island were a little timid of course but they weren't so flighty and nippy and that is a result of good socialization, unlike most of the older birds here. At Bird jungle, they will tell you whatever just to get your money.

Very sad. I do not recommend. These poor birds are displayed in little stalls with only ONE perch. Everything is plastic and oversized, even the macaws had trouble getting a grip. No toys. No enrichment. Nothing. The less exotic birds were PACKED into small cages like a meat market. I keep thinking of the little ring neck doves stepping on each other. Extremely depressing. Do not recommend.

I have been here numerous times. It has always been a nice place, but the last two times I went (POST COVID) it's not the same. The employees aren't as friendly as they used to be, I had my parrot's beak and nails filed down and the lady held my parrot too hard, she was pressing on his eyes, he was screaming like he never screamed before. I felt so horrible for him.

Maybe the woman had a bad day or wasn't feeling up to par at that moment, but When I questioned her she walked away. I will never let them touch my bird again! I'm so disappointed that the shop has gone down hill.

I'm so saddened to see the birds in this environment. If I can give zero stars I would most definitely. You can tell that all of the birds are not being taken care of rightfully. I wish I took pictures of everything that was just so wrong. They had huge birds in small tight spaces. More than 2 birds per cage. The parakeets were trapped in small (like hamster sized) cages with more than 10 each in a cage.

All the birds were extremely aggressive and unhappy. A boarding bird was plucking its feathers due to stress. Most of them were doing their "hungry dance" I honestly hope this place gets shut down.

We drove 2 1/2 hrs to go to that store to get a bird and they pay no attention. We had to follow them around to ask them for questions. I felt like I was not wanted in the store. We will ask and they would walk away. We try to have an conversation with them and they just walked away. So we left but rude to the extreme. I was so happy to go there and to be unwanted. Never again.

The staff is wonderful. Rosa helped me pick out a beautiful baby conure and he was very healthy. The birds here are all new borns for the most part and it's a wonderful experience walking in and seeing the hundreds of birds. I would recommend to anyone who wants to get a pet bird.

I have been searching high and low for a Nanday conure and I can't find them anywhere. Just one in Florida that wasn't hand tame and older that I would have had to fly in. On a whim I found them on google and emailed them and they said they had one baby Nanday left so I took a two hour drive with my two toddlers in tow and went and met him and fell in love. He/she has only been home a couple hours but already super sweet and adjusting well. The only negative was that I didn't really get a straight answer on the birds age that I was hoping for but other then that everything and everyone there was great!

I traveled from the Bronx just to pick up 2 Zebra finches for my son because his flew out the window when I was cleaning their cage. The birds are absolutely beautiful and very healthy. The guy answered all my questions (I had a lot) he was very patient when he wanted a particular one and it took a few tries to wrangle the one he wanted. You can tell they really love the birds and take great care of them. I would definitely recommend them & go again for all my birds needs

We were appalled by the conditions at this shop. We are experienced bird owners looking for another one. We could not believe the number of sickly birds on display, many will pulled feathers, some pacing back and forth, and some in dire need of attention. Some of the cages appeared filthy, and we saw some large birds fighting, with clearly too many birds in the space allowed.

We were especially shocked at the fear we sensed the boarder birds were in. One appeared to be breathing quite heavily, likely due to the cacophony of bird screeching, again due to the excessive number of birds in the store, their small spaces, and the fighting we witnessed. This shop should be visited by whatever agency monitors animal welfare in Scarsdale or Westchester.

To top it off, the sign at the door stated that masks were required of all visitors, which is good because birds catch diseases quite easily. Some customers had masks on, some not, but almost none of the store staff wore then. Again, a simply depressing day in a depressing store, seeing birds in distress.

I got a bird there. A green cheek conure. He's pretty cool even when he tries to vote my toes. Bird Jungle is a good specialty bird store. Seems reasonably priced as well. It can loud and cramped in there so if you sensory concerns bear that in mind. Otherwise the staff was pleasant and helpful.

This store has changed drastically in a matter of a few years. The current customer service deserves ZERO stars. They were rude and unhelpful. I emailed the owner, Ira Hertz, to complain. He called me from an anonymous number, but I was unavailable. He said he would call back, but never did. Do not patronize this business. The employees told me that he runs the business remotely from Florida. Who runs a pet store remotely? I have bought over $10,000 in birds and products from this store over the years. After this last encounter, I'll go elsewhere.

A great place they will help you with everything you need to know about birds. Even after you purchased one, they will continue to help you with all the questions you have. I highly recommend this place!

I have been consistently surprised and disappointed by the terrible customer service at Bird Jungle since our first visit a couple months ago. One of the staff members has the worst customer service skills I've ever seen and it literally feels like she goes out of her way to give customers a hard time. Most recently, we drove 45 minutes to the store to have our birds weighed (the store's weekly requirement for their ridiculous 30-day warranty!) and en route realized it was about to close.

We called on our way to let her know that we would be there at 5:55, 5 minutes before closing, and she said that they couldn't let us in (first claiming it was because they now closed at 5:30 and then, clearly forgetting she had said, that because they were about to close at 6). I get that everyone wants to close up and go home but after paying over $600 for two birds - and having this aggressive requirement on the warranty - I would have expected her to consider that taking 30 seconds from her pre-closing routine - when it wasn't even closing time yet - to weigh two birds to be no big deal.

On a previous visit, after calling in advance and not being told anything about it, we learned that one of the birds we had reserved now had a hurt eye and so we had to pick another bird! Plus on another visit when my 11-year old kids tried to feed the baby birds for the FIRST time - to practice and learn obviously - she was super impatient, critical and rude!

I would definitely not recommend shopping from this store. The birds are fine but it isn't worth having to deal with such a tough staff - who managed to turn what should have been such a fun and exciting experience for our family into something we dreaded dealing with. Not to mention they clearly don't have the best interest of the birds in mind. Terrible terrible. Some friends have had a great experience at Parrots and Company in Stamford - i really wish we went there and recommend everyone else do the same.

This is the place that sells the bird food and other stuff that makes my friend's annoying parrot very happy and yes getting bitten by a crazy parrot is not enjoyable. besides food, toys, cages, acessories, etc, they also sell birds and do nail clippings and other pampering services.this place has been here on central ave in scarsdale a long time and every time i have dropped in to pick up what my buddy needs for mr nixon(yep that's the birds name) the staff have been very helpful and they carry basically everything you need for the birds. parrots are smart and mr nixon is very nice to me and he should be as i filled his cage with plenty of yum yum.

If I could leave zero stars for the phone service I just got I would. I called to ask if they had parakeets for sale and the guy who answered the phone said I had to make an appointment. "To ask if or when they will have parakeets for sale?" Are they kidding? Never got an answer, just told to make an appointment. Note to Bird Jungle: Work on your over the phone customer service! Such a turn off. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

I discovered Bird Jungle in 2011 after I rescued my little cockatiel, Pasquale. I had no clue about birds when I first walked in with him, and the people at Bird Jungle were super welcoming and helpful in getting me situated with Pasquale's new cage, food, and how to care for him. I return every couple of months to get Pasquale's wings and nails trimmed, and replenish his food.

I love how loving Bird Jungle is with the birds, and how their food is fortified with vitamins and a clean variety of ingredients. I always recommend this place as a go to for any bird owner.

I purchase my Panamanian Amazon parrot from this location about 4 years ago; at times I take him here to get his wing and nails clipped and they do a superb job.

This is the best place to get a pet bird. Back when I had my cockatiel I would take her here to get her Wings clipped and her nails filed. Michelle (an employee there) would always help me out and taught me how to take care of my cockatiel. They take really good care of the birds there and you can even leave your birds there if you're going away in a vacation.

They take care of them for you. The birds are always so cute and well kept. If you're in the mood for a pet bird definitely go here and ask for Michelle she will take care of you.

They are the nicest people in the bird business I've come across in almost 6 different states. and I'm local! They accommodate my bird's needs as well as any other questions or concerns I've had in regards to birds. I love even just hanging out in the store watching the baby birds. I've gotten my birds from there and hand raised them myself with the supervision of the wonderful staff!

I picked out two Lady Gouldian Finches. They were beautiful and looked very healthy. The place is clean and birds look well cared for and prices seem reasonable. I told the sales person that I had another 6 hours of travel time so she set me up with a travel cage with food and water.

My father used to bring me here growing up. When my first bird passed away, my father took me here to find another one. Named her peanut Living in an apartment with dogs and cats, I cankers a bird right now. So I come her every couple of months just to see them. My last couple of visit I just feel different. Some of the birds behind the glass were screaming.

They were on sale too, I'm guessing because of it. My boyfriend didn't feel Comfortable this time going in either. Maybe too many bird are being keep in small boxed glass caged and not enough to fly.

A bird lover's paradise! I love walking through this place and giving treats to the birds that are out. They have a nice variety of birds for sale and all appear to be well taken care of. The staff is knowledgeable and always seen cleaning and caring for the birds. The place is kept very clean! Convenient location with parking. Services available for birds like nail trimming, tag removal, bird sitting etc. Nice selection of toys and food too. Definitely the place to go for all your bird's needs!

I have been frequenting this store for 3 decades. Overall, it is perhaps the single best bird store in the area. The staff is very knowledgeable and experienced. I purchased a cockatoo in the early 90's that was very healthy and a fine specimen. I would recommend this store to anyone interested in buying a bird, or even someone who is just interested in learning about birds. The staff is very accommodating.

Went here for the first time and loved it! I've never seen so many birds in one place, and ALL friendly. There was even this huge blue macaw with the biggest beak I've ever seen that was a huuuuge cuddle bug. So sweet. It is also LOUD in there because of all the parrots so be prepared. I love that they let people interact with and hold the birds. It's such a good way for them to get accustomed to people.

They have MANY babies, and handfed. The only suggestion I would make to them is to make people use hand sanitizer before touching the birds, just so the birds don't get sick. I wish I lived close, I would go often. The prices are a little more than I've seen from.say private breeders but it makes sense because they do have rent to pay to keep the store, and food to buy for the birds, as well as hire staff to feed them, etc.

I do wish the staff were more talkative, and informative because when I asked questions they didn't say much. Either way, great bird store. They also do DNA testing for $50.

Wow, this place is nuts! There's talking birds, birds trying to grab at you as you walk by, and huge birds in all colors flapping their wings outside their cages, I took one of my kids here to peruse the little fellas and she was speechless, total shock and awe. We didn't wind up getting one, but would definitely put them on the top of the list if we do get one. Safe to say, this is probably THE go to stop for your bird needs in the area.

Couple of things I have to admit before you read this review. 1. I don't own a bird. 2. I don't want to own a bird. That being said, I LOVE THIS PLACE! It's clean and the staff is friendly. They seem to acknowledge the fact that some people like to come and walk around, checking out the birds and playing with them. I enjoyed coming here and next time I'm in the area, I will visit again.
