I received a gift card to this store, however I live out of state. I called the store to ask how to place an order online since there wasn't an option to pay with a gift card. The person who took my call said "I don't know anything about gift cards". So I asked if there was someone else I could speak with. She put me on hold, when she came back she told me to call another location.
I called the other location. I had to go through 3 people to get an answer, which ended up being - no. Customer service is not a priority at this company. Having to call 2 locations and speak with 4 people is insane to answer a basic question on payment.

Can't say anything negative about this place. We are fostering kittens, first time having fur babies, so I went in with a ton of questions. The employees were wonderful. If one didn't know the answer they sought out another employee who they thought could help. All genuinely cared! The store is clean and very well kept.

I was looking for a specific dog food brand, and my local pet store didn't carry it. Find out Pet Goods does, and I went there and found what I needed. I had several questions and was helped by an employee who gave some great recommendations. Pet Goods will be my go-to pet food store from now on, and they have so many options to choose from.

I have been going to this store since. It has opened. Normally the employees are friendly and helpful. However whoever the young woman who works in the fish department in the back of the store at around 12:00pm March 5, 2022 was not helpful at all and rude. On 4 different occasions she blatantly just ignored me and if I didn't as ask she would never ask if I needed help.
On the last occasion she was talking to a friend who did not work in the store and when I asked for help she just said I know and continued chatting with her friend, so I left. It's a shame, I like that store. I will not shop in that store again as long as she is still employed there. Luckily there is a Petco right across the highway.

This is the best pet store in Paramus, hands down. Their shelves are always well-stocked with pet food, treats and toys. Much better selection here as compared to the other two pet mega-stores in the area. The workers are friendly and helpful. It's a large store but usually not crowded. Their location works against them as they are somewhat hidden from the highway on Rt. 17 S (next to HomeGoods and Burlington), but well worth seeking out.

The store was great until they stopped following their policies. It's not worth going to the store if they don't follow their own store policies. Price-match does not exist, even though they clearly and loudly advertise it. So over all, it's more expensive than all the other pet stores and they don't have the "lowest price guaranteed" and the staff treat you like you're a burden.
The customer is always wrong is the mentality. I can't even share here some of the stuff I saw in that store. Just utter disrespect to my daughter and myself on multiple occasions. Avoid at all costs.

It was my dogs birthday so we took her up to pet goods which was worth the ride. My dog literally pooped when she first walked in I felt terrible. The staff was so nice and deff made us feel less embarrassed. Also their selection of toys for dogs and small pets was impressive. I picked up quite a few things for our rabbits too while their, they even have a small pond area too. I will deff be back!

I went to Petgoods to purchase 2 cases of dog food. 24 cans. The cashier, Tara in all seriousness rang up $170 for 24 cans. And, I had a coupon for 1 free case. So she lowered it to $76 dollars. Again she was wrong but steadfast in her erroneous commitment that this was indeed the price This is a Poorly managed store.

A very hit or miss place; the only problem I had with this is my furry small animal needed a bigger cage, but the price was too much! I got her a bigger C&C cage (for $40), but the original one was much smaller and was $90. :( Sadly, this store doesn't have a meet and greet policy for guinea pigs, so do watch out for this.

Today was the first time being disappointed in this store. I've been going here for years because the staff is friendly, the store is clean and I usually find what I need. Today I went in early in the day to get something and had a coupon which clearly stated the expiration date of 4/16/18, Today is 3/23/18 I was told that it was expired and couldn't use it.
When the manager came out, she had the worst attitude and was very surly. I worked many years in retail and would have accepted an explanation if it made sense. I was told the flyer the coupon was printed on had a specific frame of time listed on it, which had already passed. This was all told with a very snotty tone. Ultimately the manager adjusted the price and walked off.
In this day and age of brick and mortar stores closing constantly, you need good employees to keep customers coming back. The cashier was extremely sweet and it's because of her that I will go back agian. If it were not for her, that awful store manager would have been enough for me to never return. She was awful, not management material at all.
I advise corporate to look up who was the manager today at 10am and do something about it. You will lose many customers if she doesn't start acting like customers matter. I was in no way confrontational or mean. I am appalled I was treated the way I was today. To the cashier, thank you. You should be in charge there, your attitude was extremely pleasant and saved my shopping experience!

Bad customer service. Returned an unused dog bed (xmas gift) and was given a hard time by cashier. Wanted to issue store credit and I refused to accept that. I was begrudgingly given a refund and made to feel as if I was a criminal for returning something. Store manager could care less when I told her about the incident. Perhaps corporate will read this and do something to improve customer relationships.

I used to shop at this store every Saturday until I was insulted by the store manager whose name I was told is Harriet. She basically berated me for using a coupon that my friend had. I still can't believe how rude she was to me for no reason. She has no customer service skills and should be fired. I will take my business to pet smart.

Lana is one of the managers and amazing at her job, the staff is a reflection of leadership. It's so easy to complain and insult a business. But I honestly only have good to say about pet goods. Always consistent with there service always willing to help. They also honor there price checks. Which I will never go to petco ever again. But this is not a negative review save that for another time. Thank u pet goods.

I only give this place 3 stars due to their HORRIBLE RETURN POLICY. You only have one week, yes you heard it right folks --ONE WEEK, that's only 7 days to return an item once you have purchased it if you want to get your money back, otherwise you only get a store credit. Only one week to return something is ridicules. On the positive side, they carry a number of items the chain pet stores don't carry at all, such as freeze dried RAW dog & cat food. The store is clean & cashiers are friendly. If they will change their return policy to be MORE REALISTIC. I would be glad to increase my star rating that I gave.

This is the only store I will shop at for my guinea pigs. Their prices are good, the store is VERY clean, and the staff is very helpful. You can find all sorts of fun things for your pets and for yourself, such as a giant strawberry bed for your cat and Dogopoly! The Board Game. I cannot say that I've ever had a bad experience in this store. Even their animals are fun to look at, unlike most pet stores.
