The Pet Hospital has been serving the Los Angeles/West Hollywood area for over 70 years. The building was first constructed in 1926. From 1926 to 1933 the building's history is unknown, but in 1933 Dr. Diller ran a veterinary care center here. He partnered with Dr. Eisenhour in 1937-38 and the building was under Dr. Eishenhour's guidance until 1946.
Once doctors have graduated veterinary school they have a choice to either start practicing medicine as a general practitioner or pursue further training through an internship. An internship is a one year position that doctors apply to after veterinary school. This is usually a program where veterinarians (interns) are exposed to multiple different specialists/ specialties. This allows further training prior to practicing medicine on your own or further pursuing additional training to become specialized.

Horrible. Every. Single. Time. I've called over the past 2 years they're always "too busy" to see my pet when she's having an emergency issue. Trying to book an appointment is impossible, and even if you do get an appointment they still make you wait and the treatment is basically, "I don't know what's causing that, here's a bill". It just seems like they guess about healthcare. Front desk staff is awful. COVID is not an excuse anymore to be this unorganized.

I'm visiting from out of town and needed an appointment for my dog on a Sunday morning. The vet here agreed to take a look at her between appointments even though they were fully booked. Everyone was very friendly at the hospital, and the vet called once he'd had a chance to look at her to go over any questions I might have. Super appreciative that they made room to see me, and I'd have no problem recommending!

This has been one of the worst weeks of my life, but the folks at this hospital made it that much more bearable. Their care for my cat in her last few days is something I'll remember forever. Nearly everyone I interacted with was empathetic and compassionate. They spoke to me with patience and answered all of my questions. They did everything to ensure mine and my cat's comfort, and while I hate the fact that I had to say goodbye, I am glad that I did so under their care. I only wish I had known about them earlier so they could have been my cat's full time vets from the start.

They have real problems with communications. Had to be told 5 different times what the primary number was. They never changed it. The worst when we had our dog home from his appt, only to be called by Laurel to be told that Sparky was ready for pickup. Will no longer use them. Nor, would I recommend them. Their Drs. never got back to us via email, phone, or text after we had tried contacting them for days regarding their initial prescription based on the dr's initial opinion of xrays. Only to be told the xray techs had a different opinion on what was going on. Stay away.

Been taking my two dogs there for the past 3 years for simple routine check and vaccination. Price was high but so far it was ok for me and work done. One of my dogs starting having some health issues and this is where I feel like LPH is not a good place for you and your pup. They have been doing the same test twice, giving the same treatments both times and now wanted to do exactly the same thing again. Feels like it's all about paying.
Not only is the place extremely overpriced, but the service and quality is just not there. My latest (and last) experience with them included a vet talking to me across the waiting room, not even capable of coming around the desk to talk to me. The conversation ended as I was talking and he left in the middle of the conversation, which is simply appalling. Strongly not recommend going there, very pricey ($25 tech inspection to administer some vaccines, which is literally 2 minutes) and vet who do not seem to care.
