Cinnamon is in many baked goods and savory dishes like chicken and lamb, so it's very likely that your dog might want a bite. Dogs are truly man's best friend - including being such great travel and explore companions! Most pet owners who own a dog have probably gotten into the predicament of their furry friend eating something they shouldn't. A dog backpack carrier is the best accessory you can have when you have a restless soul and want to share the adventure with your furry friend.
Axolotls, also known as Mexican walking fish, are species of amphibious creatures closely related to the salamander and native to New Mexico. Betta fish are one the most popular freshwater fish and a popular first-time fish owner choice. Fish are a wonderful and popular pet choice, and since their tanks are stationary, you can also use them to decorate your home.

As a customer for over 4 years now, I can say that all my pet care providers have been phenomenal. While away I recieve detailed messages and photos that give me insight to the well being of my pets. I am so grateful to these providers for not only giving me piece of mind, but also quality attention to my fur babies. Many thanks for their professionalism and loving care.

We hired this agency years ago and they were fine. We have had two major incidents in the last few years that have led me to fire them and write this review. A few years ago, they claimed a computer glitch led them to not send anyone for 10 days. They paid for a vet visit and our cats were fine physically but very distressed by their near death experience.
Thinking that they would be extremely careful in the future and getting photos ever since, things passed without incident for another few years. I hired them for the holidays and while I got photos that showed my pets - the sitter never cleaned the cat box over 8 days. Our house was trashed by the cats tearing up the their scratching pads. We were refunded for the visits but they have again traumatized our cats. I would never recommend this service after these two ridiculous incidents. I hope in tIme our cats can not fear our departures but I am not optimistic.

I've used this service for several years for my two cats and my dog. They were great and I loved Erin. We had several regular walkers that we loved - most recently, Nancy did a super job and our dog loved her. Unfortunately, something has happened - maybe they were acquired? But the service has changed for the worse and I have to part ways. Yesterday, I let them know that I was home sick with a bad cold and fever so they wouldn't be surprised to find me here when they arrived.
I told them I'd be asleep in the back bedroom, door closed, and please to just make sure to walk the dog as usual - he would be in the living room. At the appointed time, someone from Pet Staff called me to say the walker refused to come because she was afraid she'd get sick by entering my home! I said, no way, I have a fever, I can't walk him myself, he needs a walk right now, please come and walk him!
They said no, she refuses, she's afraid she'll get sick. They refunded me but seriously, WTF?! It was great when Erin was in charge. Whatever has happened since then has been a real problem.

I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. I used The Pet Staff for four and a half years for my Jack Russell terrier, from the time we moved to L.A. to the time he passed away at age 14. Over that period of time, he had two primary walkers, who knew him very well, they felt like family to me. I trusted them 100%, even at the end when my dog was having trouble getting up and down the stairs and was a bit fragile.
Even though it's been two years since he passed, I still think of his walkers and how much they meant to me when I needed someone to care for my baby every day. You can't put a price on that kind of trust. I recommend this company very, very highly!

I have been using pet staff for a few years and recently had to part ways with this service. I would like to start off by saying that everyone in their office who took my phone calls and returned my emails were professional and courteous, but the pet sitters can be unreliable. The first bad experience happened last July when there was an apparent scheduling error and my two cats went without being fed for two days.heartbreaking to come home from a vacation to see no food or water in your house and the cats locked inside.
And having no clue! My plan was to leave them at that time, but after speaking to a manager I was assured that the one time mix-up would never happen again and the pet sitters would text me from there on out with photos and updates. Shame on me. Things went well after that for almost a year but I had to constantly leave emails and messages about the staffers sending updates.
I also left notes at my house for the staffers letting them know the routine and to text me. After finally speaking out about the issue I was told that the pet staff was not the right fit for me and that I needed an individual for my pet care needs. This exchange took place after they watched my cats for the last time. Upon returning home after this exchange, I noticed there was something immediately wrong with my girl cat.
She was lethargic, unresponsive and would not eat, but all her reports from the staff said she was fine.this went on for another day before I called the vet and emailed the pet staff. They did reach out to their sitters, but because they are different sitters the majority of the time no one noticed her behavior. We found a dead rat by her litter box outside that looked like it had been there for a few days and she ended up with toxoplasmosis which can be fatal if untreated.
To be fair, this is of course no one's fault. But if someone was checking her litter box and actually spending some time with them maybe I could have caught it earlier. She is on the mend now, but I am forever damaged. At this point I'm just happy my cats are alive and I no longer have to wonder about their well being while away. Unfortunate that this company cannot and will not keep you updated on your pet. They do leave pet reports, but you will not get to read those until you arrive home from your trip. Hire at your own risk.

I've used The Pet Staff for a number of years for catsitting, and they're fantastic. It's so nice to come home to the little notes that the sitters leave and I can really tell that my kitty has been well looked after and as had plenty of visits and play times. I can rest at ease when I'm away on business or vacation knowing that my kitty is in her own home environment and has daily visits. Thanks Courtney, Erin and the entire Pet Staff!

We love the Pet Staff, especially Shannon and Monica! They've been taking care of our dog for six years now and are a wonderful company. Our dog gets sooo excited when one of the walkers shows up. They treat my dog as if she were their own. They all love animals very much and it shows. We have never had a single problem in over 6 years with them.
And they go above and beyond. Shannon brings our trash cans in on trash day and any mail or packages inside.what a bonus! I'd highly recommend this company if you are skeptical or nervous about having a stranger come into your home and take care of your fur babies!

I have to update my review. In February of this year, some of my mother's jewelry went missing, and it appeared to have been taken by someone working in the home. The evidence that it had been a worker from the Pet Staff was circumstantial, and since then we have discovered that we came to the wrong conclusion. Their workers were always professional, responsible and kind to the dogs. I would highly recommend them, they were absolutely trustworthy.

I had to check the URL to make sure there wasn't another business called "The Pet Staff, " because of some of the low ratings. Our experience has been the complete opposite; they have always been amazing for us. We have two cats and I HATE to leave them alone. Going away makes me extremely anxious. We used to board them but I hated taking them out of their familiar surroundings, so our vet recommended ThePetStaff a couple of years ago.
They are always friendly and professional; I have never had one complaint. They've all been fantastic, and especially Mikaela. We were in Florida over the holiday and on Thanksgiving Day I got a text from a number I didn't know, and it was Mikaela sending me a picture of our kitties looking happy and healthy. She described their behavior and their quirky personalities and was spot on.
I can't tell you the relief I felt when i saw their little faces! I was able to enjoy the holiday and family without worrying about them. When we got home, Mikaela (and one other sitter) had documented each visit, written notes of the interactions, the time they came and left, and based on the notes they had clearly been paying close attention and spent time petting, playing and giving our boys plenty of love.
I have a feeling JoJo and Simon are going to miss her. As a bonus, the day after we got back in town, Mikaela she sent me a text telling me that Centinella Feed had our brand of cat food on sale. We're headed over there this afternoon. Thank you Mikaela and ThePetStaff!

I never really got to use these people. About 2 weeks before I needed to find someone to sit with my cats, I called and was told that a supervisor needs to call me and set up an appointment to come over and evaluate what our needs are. Well here we are almost 2 weeks later, I'm leaving in 2 days and NO call from them, no message, no nothing. So I've obviously made other arrangements, and will NEVER attempt to use them again.

THE PET STAFF LEFT MY SERVICE DOG FOR DEAD. My service dog, Tashi, was everything to me. When I had to go into the hospital I reluctantly called the Pet Staff. They had taken care of my previous dog but always seemed slightly disorganized. I told the Pet Staff that I did not know when I would be released from the hospital. They said fine - they would take care of Tashi until I was released.
I called every few days from the hospital and Tashi was always fine. When I was about to be released I called the Pet Staff. They were confused: they had not visited Tashi for 8 days. They had no explanation whatsoever of why they had stopped caring for him. The manager I talked to matter of factly said Tashi was dead -that he could not have lived 8 days w/o water.
It took the Pet Staff 3-4 hours to get someone to check to see if Tashi was alive. Luckily, he was alive. The apt. mgr. had heard him barking and filled his water bowl several times but had not fed him. He was emaciated. The Pet Staff never even apologized. DON'T TRUST YOUR PET'S LIFE TO THIS DISORGANIZED BUNCH OF STUDENTS.

I've been using The Pet Staff for several years. They were recommended to me by my shrink, who is just as nuts about her dog as I am. Is it weird to say my shrink is nuts? Mostly, I like them. I like the lock-box idea (I put all my keys in a lock box on my front door and they have the code to open the box and get the keys) and the fact that they leave detailed notes about what my little baby did and didn't do (she is a bit of a pain and doesn't really like walks).
They are very reliable and I trust them. I do feel they are doing what they're supposed to do and my little one needs twice daily medication and I believe that happens. Here's what's missing. When I lived in NYC I had a pet sitter that sent me pics and videos of what my kid was doing. I loved that. I also knew that the sitter was there and was interacting with my dog.
With Pet Staff I have to call them and ask for updates and then they have to find the sitter and get her/him to text me. There are a LOT of other services out there that just provide this for nervous puppy moms and I would think Pet Staff would step it up and do that. I also leave two pages of super detailed notes and sometimes those are ignored. The last sitter either didn't read the notes or didn't understand how to feed the pup (we feed her fresh food - I understand, I'm nuts).
I must add when I come home, my little critter is happy, healthy and well-fed and the benefits of having her at home where she's happiest and comfy instead of a kennel cannot be overstated. And when you do call them on the phone, they're great. I'm doing Pet Staff again next month because it's easy and they already have all our info, but if things don't improve a bit, I'll look for another sitting company. If you're not as picky as me or as nuts as me, they're very good. I just think for nervous pet parents, they could do a little bit more.

Haven't booked the pet staff in a while and wouldn't do so again today, but we used to hire their sitters for frequent cat sitting when we were out on weekend or business trips. I wasn't unhappy at first but also never 100% satisfied - unfortunately from the beginning. A different person came to do the job with every other visit or so.
That made them seem disorganized. For example, our cat eats a small amount of canned wet food every morning; the open can is stored in the fridge for the next day. When we came back after 4 days, we found 4 open cans in the fridge. Whaaat? A single portion was taken from each can and they were nicely covered with plastic foil. What were those four (!) people thinking - searching a new can in the storage and opening one every day?
It also happened that I left tip for a booking of several days (AM and PM visits), and from their protocol it seemed that the first person bagged all the money. It happened that a lot of cat litter was spread all around the litter box and kitchen floor where I would have expected them to do at least SOME sweeping. It was a mess. Once kitty had obviously thrown up in the middle of the dining room.
It was a huge throw up, very obvious, one could not avoid to see it when walking from our front entrance into the kitchen. That is how we found it when we returned home, all dried out, sticking to the floor and just left for good. What actually made me stop using them was when we first left the cat for about a week. I was worried to leave her for more than 3-4 days/nights; especially because we were traveling out of the country.
I contacted the pet staff beforehand and asked if they could send a text or email update after four days or so. They were super nice and assured me that was no problem at all. The trip came, the days passed, no one messaged me in any way, on any day. I was worried to death and sent a friend with another spare key to the house to check on the cat. She was doing fine, but my trust in the pet staff was now damaged.
I also want to point to their terms, which - looking back - seem strange and irresponsible to me. For example, if one is traveling overseas and the flight is delayed, or an accident happens. the pet staff will NOT make sure that the dog is walked/cat is fed until the owner is home again. They do the pre-booked job and are done with it. With the service I'm using today, I send a text as soon as I am home again. Otherwise, they'll continue to make sure the pet is taken care of. Pets safety comes first at all times, payment can be arranged later. That's the attitude I was looking for!

Received the check last night. So, I can update this by saying this company is honorable enough to do what they are ordered to do by law, but not do what they themselves say they are going to do in writing. So they are as good as a court order but their word is not as good as the email it's written in. Let me make sure everyone clearly understands what I mean by their written word: 3/2/15 email from Pet Staff: ".a check will go out to your (address) in the amount of $9,187.43 this week. I'm glad we were able to resolve this to your satisfaction." 3/9/15 (no check so I follow up) 3/11/15 email from Pet Staff: "I was under the impression a check could be issued last week but I was incorrect.the owner has just returned from a trip and needs time to make the arrangements.again I apologize for my error and was informed the soonest the check can be mailed is next week." 3/13/15 email from Pet Staff stating they are now going to pay me less ($8,000) and in installments over 4 months - backing out on their word.
Which is when I sued them. So much for honor these days I guess. And lets not forget the whole reason they offered to pay me over $9k in a refund. My alarm records showed that for the last three years of my elderly, kidney-diseased dog's life she was being walked (some true examples) at 7am and then not again till midnight. Many times 16 hours without a walk.
And majority of the time the walks were 10-15 minutes when I was paying for "full 30 minute" visits (in quotes per their own verbiage). Over the years I trusted this company, they made over $35,000 from me and they can't hold to their word to refund what they know is the right amount, $9,187.43. Lastly, the sitter BURNED my coffee table - the size of a coaster! Trust me, I wouldn't want you to entrust your dog to a company like this.

I really liked this company at first until one week when I went away and came home to find my front door unlocked. I have a very elderly cat. She falls easily due to her arthritis. Because of my fear of her falling and hurting herself I hired a Pet Staff sitter to sleep over and do a midday visit as well for several days. When I returned home from this one visit I found my front door unlocked, which was quite unsettling.
I also found notes from my sitter in the daily logs. She noted that it had gotten quite cold out and that my heater wasn't working. She texted me daily when I was away and neglected to mention this. After finding the door unlocked and realizing my sitter could have texted me at any time to let me know that the heater wasn't working, I was quite upset after the $900 I paid for this service.
I could have called a technician while I was away to fix the heater had I known. I wouldn't have wanted her or my elderly cat to be cold. I spoke to two people at the company about this and although they apologized it didn't seem like they really got it. If it were my business I would be cringing to hear that sort of news and I would have made every effort to instill confidence in my customer that that is not how they do business and that this would never happen again. Instead, they sounded more like they just wanted it to gloss over it and move forward offering me a few free midday visits.
They listened, but did not really acknowledge all the reasons that this would really upset me. For that kind of money the last thing I want is attitude as if I am getting upset over nothing. I love my cat. I worry about her when I'm away. To come home to find things this way made me feel very unsafe. They handled this very poorly. There is a way to apologize and there is a way not to.
I expect at the very least that they leave my home secure and notify me if things aren't working that can effect the welfare of my cat. I think for $900 I can find someone who knows how to take responsibility for their actions, do their job, and know how to deal with situations when their service fails to meet even average expectations.

I've had my fair share of pet sitters & this is first time I have ever had to complain like this. It's nice to know that my fellow yelpers agree that this company happens to be the worst pet sitting service I have EVER done business with. First off, the people who answer the phones at the PS are rude & unprofessional. Everytime I call, they sound annoyed that I am calling.
I work in customer service & know that the customer COMES FIRST, it doesn't mean their always right, but they do come first. Second their fees are a bit ridiculous. If you call after hours & leave a message to have someone come the next day, they consider that a "Same Day Booking" even though it is the "Next Day". So they charge a "same day' booking fee.
Also if you need them to visit your pet on a holiday they charge an additional "Holiday Fee". Then to top it all off they charge the whole amount to your credit card BEFORE they even come to visit your pet (WTF?) And if all of that wasn't bad enough, their pet sitters can't even do the basics of petsitting (Food, Water, Potty Break & Clean Up). Is it really that hard? Where do they find these people?

And if all of that wasn't bad enough, their pet sitters can't even do the basics of petsitting (Food, Water, Potty Break & Clean Up). Is it really that hard? Where do they find these people?

Like many people, my pet is very important to me. When I moved to LA, and didn't know anyone yet-I chose the pet staff based on reviews. They give you a lock-box and you can use them any time in the future. The first time was great.but here's the story of the 2nd time: I called in a date early. This past weekend, I arrived home on a Monday to find no one had come over the weekend as I had scheduled, and my kitty was not in good shape. Terrible!
I called, and actually wasn't upset, but wanted to let them know what happened, laughed it off and said, I also just want to make sure that you're obviously going to refund the fee. I was told I'd get a call back right away. It took a day, but essentially, the woman who runs it, Courtney, called back and said I had given them that incorrect date--and not only that--that she'd left two messages with confirmation.
I checked messages again (I have an iPhone and can access deleted messages) and the only message was a single message regarding processing my credit card. I called back to say-Hey, listen, i only got this one message and i really don't think I would have given you a date for when I was already back in town. She argued with me, and strangely never apologized for not coming to care for the animal.
I asked if she was going to refund the money, and that it would be strange to ruin a relationship over this, and again, argument. I just ended the call as it was too strange! She then called me back (add to strangeness) and said that she'd refund the money if i was to take the key out of the lock-box that is on my gas meter so they could take back the lock-box. Essentially, confirming that she was losing me as a client.
More strange! Because of the way she dealt with this, I'll obviously never use them again and nor will I ever recommend them-which is a total shame. It's strange, because all she had to do was be nice and we could have chalked it up to a misunderstanding. Instead, she seemed intent on insisting she was not to blame--when blame wasn't the point! It should be all about making sure the animals are ok. Thumbs down!
