Me and my husband always love to come here to walk around to view all the reptiles and any supplies for the ones at home. The staff here is incredible and always make us feel extremely welcomed. The manager, Rene, is very knowledgeable and youthful. He is very passionate about his job and always helps with any concerns or questions you may have. It is always great to see him when we come in. Cesar is always straightforward and knows what he's talking about.

He has been there for a long time which makes him trustworthy when it comes to knowing about animals. Lyzette has always helped us out when we've made purchases regarding our reptiles and is very friendly. Overall, this store is amazing and everyone here is very friendly, helpful, and skilled.

Came into the Oceanside store yesterday (6/12) and found some Red Eyed Tree Frogs for sale. Asked the store if I could see them to examine the health. When they pulled down the tank, one frog appeared healthy while another was sleeping in the water dish (usually a bad sign for frogs in my experience). I noted the health concerns about the frog, the store staff assured me they were fine and asked me if I "wanted them or not." I took both, trusting the expert opinions of store staff. Added these guys straight into my quarantine tank.

Less than 18 hours later, the frog laying in the water bowl is dead. The other one doesn't look like it's going to make it either. Very lethargic. Never in my 6 years of keeping Red Eyes have I seen new frogs die so quickly. This store has a no return policy on amphibians; however, as a person who's cared for tree frogs for years, this store should refund money when a known "unhealthy" frog dies less than 24 hours after being sold. It's evident this store knows it's selling poor quality livestock, but just doesn't seem to care.

I was also told these were captive bred frogs by store staff, but I find that hard to believe. Pretty disappointed in this store overall. While they're dry good are great, I haven't been super impressed by the quality and health of their livestock. For amphibians, I'd recommend spending your money somewhere else. ------------------------------------------ UPDATE: Appreciate the super profesional response from the business owner. It's very clear they care about their livestock and customers with utmost regard.

I went in looking for a Leopard gecko for my daughter. Elizabeth, Derrick and Justin were all so very helpful and knowledgeable. All 3 of them were very easy to talk to and willing to answer all questions we had. We got exactly what we were looking for and my daughter is so happy with her new gecko. All the reptiles are well taken care of and maintained. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a reptile.

Went in today to purchase a new tank for our reptile baby. I was helped by Mr. Derrick, and miss. Elizabeth they were very attentive and helpful. I'm very indecisive so they were patient and caring to the decision I made. Got a great deal on the tank and a few decorative pieces as well as feeder rats which is awesome and rare for me. But now Jabba is stretching out in her new room and preparing for a delicious supper! Thank you so much, I will always return for supplies and spread the word about this amazing shop, thanks guys

We live in Tucson, AZ and honestly it is our favorite reptile store and we'll worth the drive! Their prices were amazing, and their staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for anything reptile related!

Spoke with Elizabeth on the phone after acquiring 2 small box turtles. She was extremely helpful in telling us what we needed. It was close to closing time so we decided to visit the store today and were greeted very nicely by Derrick at the door. Out the gate we explained our situation of being new to owning turtles. He helped us locate the supplies we needed and even gave recommendations on the better options.

We ended up cashing out with Justin. He was also attentive in making sure we got all that we needed on our list. They all helped very much and it was very affordable. I highly recommend them for their helpfulness and genuine care of us our new family members.

I used to love this place, I'm a huge reptile fan so I enjoyed looking through all the enclosures and taking pictures of the different lizards. I came in today and I was heartbroken to see a nearly dead Chameleon. He was starved and lying in the mulch. When I pointed out how skinny the poor thing was, the guy replied saying that they're supposed to look like that. That's not true. They're supposed to have ribbing, yes, but seeing the bones and sinews on the leg is NOT normal.

How do I know? I've rescued lizards for well over 10yrs. When I looked into the Urstromanyx babies enclosures, I noticed that there was absolutely no water in their cage and that the food provided for them was dry. When I say dry, I mean that the lettuce looks over a week old. They had also placed dried, uncooked lentils in the bowl for them.

When I pointed this out to the guy, he said that they're not supposed to have any water in the dish due to humidity. ok. They need FRESH veggies though to obtain the moisture they need to SURVIVE! There were also dead crickets in the enclosure with them, they were upside down, dried and starved as well, which means that there had not been any food available for a while.

It was very sad. The attitude of the staff was also very rude and condescending. I had been hoping to purchase a reptile from them in the future due to the great prices. but after reading other reviews and seeing the level of neglect here, I won't be coming back. I highly suggest others look somewhere else for their new scaley family member, these people just don't care.

We've been recurring visitors/customers of this particular location for the past 4 months, and while we love the store, pets and equipment Thomas stands out and makes us feel welcome every time we visit. In addition to being friendly and personable, he is incredibly knowledgeable and often has personal experiences as a reptile owner that are relatable and helpful.

His recommendations on pet care have been spot on, and he has helped us improve our care for our amphibians and reptiles. He's honest and sincere, and we honestly can't say enough good things about him and our experiences at this store while he's working.

Absolutely love LLL. All their stores are amazing and are the only reptile stores I go to. We recently went to get some mice for our snakes, as we do weekly. And came across the cutest baby three toed box turtle. Which I HAD to have. Lisette was so sweet and helped us pick everything out for him. She spent so much time helping us get all the right lights, equipment, and food.

She was more than knowledgeable about our little turtle. Thank you so much Lisette.! We'll definitely be taking the extra time to come to this location every week from now on. :

I've been going to their locations over the last couple years for my feeders and they've always had what I need. The crew has been very helpful and knowledgeable about the needs of my pets especially Rene and Cesar. I find the Oceanside location to be the most well equipped to get started in the hobby being the largest of the four locations there's a lot of variety in what they offer and the staff is great. Alex helped me get over my fear of insects and spiders and got me set up with an asian forest scorpion. So far all my animals are doing great and plan on continuing to go here for as long as I'm in the hobby

Great place. Staff & managers are very knowledgeable & their prices are not sky high! All their reptiles look bright eyed & their enclosures are very well kept & a proper habitat for all their reptiles! I'd recommend this shop to everyone!

I first visited LLL when I decided to purchase my first reptile back in Nov. I now have 4 reptiles and LLL has always been my go to. All the staff does an amazing job with any questions you have, especially Rene. I couldn't get my tortoise to eat her pellets for a couple weeks and I came to LLL to find a solution, Rene gave me a few different options on what I could do and just after a couple a days my tortoise was eating her pellets.

Overall such good customer service, knowledge and all of my reptiles have been purchased from here! They are as reliable as it can get. I have never had an issue and all of my reptiles purchased from here have been healthy!

Rene is super helpful! I buy all of my reptile supplies from here. He knows so much and was able to direct me to additional reptile forums for all of my questions. He is patient, friendly, and very knowledgeable! I look forward to going to LLL because of him and the rest of the staff! He is clearly committed to the wellbeing of his store and his customers. He makes a point to remember me and help me with everything I need.

Best place to go for first time or experienced reptile owners! Extremely helpful staff as well. Rene is very knowledgeable on reptiles as well and is always happy to help you out on your reptile questions.

This review is just for their chameleons. We have a panther ambilobe (not from here) so we stop by for worms when it's an emergency and can't wait for shipping. As a veteran cham owner, we just need to warn everyone that the chams sold here are in terrible condition. We often see mold at the bottom substrate, "napping" chams during the day, adults in super small enclosures, and overall horrendous husbandry. Whoever owns this store, please take better care of these chams.

If you're looking for a chameleon, the humane society often have veiled for adoptions, look for responsible breeders, and check out Chameleon Academy to educate yourself on the proper husbandry (do not take the staff advice).

Rene at LLL was great. He was extremely knowledgeable and kind. We were getting a pet snake for my daughter and he was great at making suggestions for her. He also interacted very well with my kids. Thanks rene

I am so glad this place was recommended to me. I was beyond happy to walk into the store. Huge assortment of all things reptile. Very helpful and friendly employee. Helped me with our newly acquired chameleon and his new enclosure. Will be back soon.

Great small business reptile shop that cares about their customers and the critters the sell. From the repeat quality customer service to products here it keeps us coming back! There terrariums, accessories, live feeders, and preserved feeders / foods selection is great here. Ask about the feeders loyalty "punch card" to save some after so many visits.

This is such a great store! They have all the supplies you need and they are super knowledgeable on pets. We purchased a turtle with all the enclosure needs and will continue to purchase all of our reptile needs from here. Shout out to Mark for helping us with our visit and sharing such amazing knowledge!

Honestly I wish I could leave 0 stars but this place is really sad and treats their animals very poorly. I own two reptiles so I know how they should be cared for. At this place their animals are infested with mites, their tanks have no source of humidity, old and dry poop which can be a huge cause for infections and disease in reptile. It's clear this place and it's employees don't care for animals. I wish I had the means to save all the poor animals forced to live here :

I went to the Oceanside location multiple times. They have a ton of animals and they seem well taken care of. The people at the store are cool and the best part is that they had a T5 light I couldn't find anywhere else for an awesome price!

I absolutely love this place. I've been coming here for close to a decade now and every time I do, the staff members go above and beyond to make me feel right at home. Anything I need, they are happy to help. One day I ran in there to grab a bag of crickets and the person in line in front of me would have grabbed the last one but my man at LLL did me an absolute solid and told the guy in front of me to go kick rocks and gave the last bag to me!

If you're looking to open up a business, ask these guys! They are the best to do it. Maybe one day I'll pull the trigger and buy my first reptile. If I ever do, it will be from LLL. Where you're treated like family. If I had to guess I would think LLL stands for Live Laugh Love because when I'm there I am living, I am laughing, and I'll be damned if I am not loving it!

The guys are pretty nice. They get a good amount of customers so it seems pretty busy. It's clean. The reptiles always have water when i go check em out. I bought a black mexican King Snake from them and he's doing fantastic. Eats great. Sticking to the schedule they had him on. They are very informative regarding all the creatures they got there. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They love what they do. They have inspired us into taking on more exotic pets. This is a healthy place where reptiles and other exotic pets are well cared for. Thank you LLL Reptile for expanding our knowledge.

This is my second time getting a bearded dragon from LLL Reptile. I lost my last one in September and was heartbroken. I was really happy with the cleanliness and the staff at this location. I had today off from work so I decided to drive back to just look. Brianna greeted me and answered all my questions. She was really sweet and knowledgeable. She showed me all my options and I ended up taking a baby Leathback Bearded Dragon home today. Thank you again Brianna. You made me a very happy girl today. Baby Tash Sultana is loving its new home.

*Sigh* I'm going to leave the 3-star review the same, though I kind of feel like it should be less, but hopefully they read, learn, and change. Sponges do not belong in tarantula enclosures. Ever. A tarantula's sucking stomach can't get the water out of a sponge, so it only harbors bacteria and mold. I understand the temporary enclosures that are not ideal because, well, hopefully they are temporary, but the spiders ought to at least have some place to hide and, again, they should not have sponges. I'm sure a lot of this is done by the breeder and they just send them over like this, but it LLL cares about the health of their tarantulas, they desperately need to make changes.

Our family has exclusively gone to LLL for our pet needs since January 2020. They were exceptionally knowledgeable about caring for a ball python. Now, one year later, we make weekly visits to this shop for feed, tank accessories, and a good laugh, courtesy of resident jokester Rene! LLL is organized, the employees are always helpful and patient, and they frequently update stock. Definitely check them out for all things reptile!
