Anchorage Animal Hospital is proud to serve the Louisville KY area for everything pet related. Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is run by Dr. Keith Gaines, who is a licensed, experienced Louisville veterinarian. Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise.
A native of Louisville, Dr. Gaines fostered his love for animals as a child, raising and showing beef cattle through the local 4-H. He attended the University of Kentucky's pre-veterinary program and graduated in 1972. Dr. Gaines then went on to attend Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 1976.

After a brief stay a boarding kennel, my dog developed kennel cough. My regular vet could not see him till the next day so I called Anchorage Animal Hospital. Not only was he given excellent care, the veterinarian allowed the staff to overbook her already busy schedule. A great caring professional staff. 5 stars for everyone at Anchorage Animal Hospital. Highly recommend them.

This practice is exceptional to say the least. We have been taking our animals there for well over a decade and the staff has always been professional and thorough. They do well in communicating every step of the way in your animal's treatment. Dr. Gaines and all of the staff members have always been concerned about our fur babies and have always taken really good care of them to ensure their best health. Everyone is very professional. Anytime there have been concerns for any of our fur babies Dr. Gaines has been able to put our minds at ease. We have had a relationship with Dr. Gaines and his staff for over 25 years. We have never even considered using another veterinary care services.

Anchorage Hospital has become my most trust place to take my dog or cat. They have cared for my animals since 2008. Their current staff is the best ever. Of course, I think Jean has been there all along and she is just great for answering questions. All the staff are caring and knowledgeable. I'm confident in their advice and treatment.

These people are great. We love Dr. Gries. She took plenty of time with us and explained everything. We've met and talked to two different receptionists and liked both. One asked if it was OK before giving the dog a treat which I really appreciated. The other was incredibly helpful in a way that I did not ever expect. We previously used a vet office a little closer to our home--these people are worth the drive.
