I have been taking my dogs to Irvine Pet Complex now Irvine Pet Hospital over the last 20 plus years, and I've also boarded there. I will never go there again! I can remember being prescribed an oral medication for one of my dogs that cost me something like $25. I looked up the medication and found it to be an over the counter at CVS for $7. Recently, I took my dog in for a skin condition that was treated once before.
This time the doctor wanted to do all kinds of unnecessary tests. I declined. He gave me a product to use that worked well, it was $35. The problem cleared up but slowly came back so I went and purchased another bottle. I decided to Google the product and found it at PetSmart for under $20 and available all over the internet for purchase. I was so disappointed that I called and got a refund.
I wanted to take my dog in again because this skin condition continues to come back and asked over the phone if there was something systemic that could be prescribed. It just seems to me that the doctor doesn't know what he's looking at or what various skin conditions look like. Why can't they do their best? I honestly feel that the small animal veterinarian business is such a scam business!
I use a large animal vet for my horse and have never had any issues and totally trust him and will just have him treat my dog from now on. And by the way. The office staff sucks!

Recently this vet has turned predatory and aggressively tries to upsell you and charge for services not needed. They are very pushy with their yearly club membership which does not yield savings for the average pet owner. I understand preventative medicine, but they were recommending unnecessary treatment for my cat, confirmed by another vet. They're like a bad car mechanic, inventing problems that you can't say no to because that means you don't care about your pet's health. Take your business elsewhere.

DON'T GO for Emergencies -- Just went there this morning during their hours (after 7am) and NO VET WAS THERE and we had to go scramble to find another place. :( Their website claims they offer this service but we were told "no vet is here" and wasted our precious time while our dog was in respiratory distress! They claim that they "provides emergency veterinary care for pets during our regular clinic hours." NOT TRUE!

I have been bringing my pets here for 10 yrs. Ever since Dr Harner sold the business this place has gone down the tubes! My dog was due for her rabies vaccination. So i called to schedule a appointment. I was told that a technician can administer the vaccine for a lower cost. The cost for the Dr was $69 to administer the vaccine. The cost for the tech was $25.
My dog is very healthy so I elected for the tech and save money. I never in the pass had to worry what i was being charged. When i got home and looked at the invoice I notice was charged $69. I called to let then know I was charged incorrectly. I was told that only a Dr can administer the rabies vaccine. I would not accept this as i mention i was told at booking that a tech can administer. I am waiting for a call back from a manager! I hope they honor what their front staff told me at booking. I so miss Dr Harner!

I've been taking my cats here for many years. The Doctors are knowledgeable and very helpful. Dr. Maki listens and has helped my cat with her various sicknesses. The staff is always friendly and helpful. And I like that they have good hours and open weekends because I work and I need flexibility in my appointments.

We have been bringing our pets here since 2012. We have great Dr's & ok Dr's. We recently met with one, Dr. Sheri and she is AMAZING! She was honest, thorough, she provided a low cost and a higher cost option, professional, patient with our questions, responsive and great demeanor. What a difference this does in being able to trust a Vet with your pet's health. We have worked with other Vets that push what feels unrealistic in cost and they pull on emotional heartstrings. If you can get Dr Sheri, we would highly recommend her.

I made an appointment for my dog to be groomed two weeks ago through this office because I've heard the groomer handles anxious dogs very well and my dog is anxious when it comes to grooming. I sent the vaccine paperwork and all was ok and a day before her grooming date, I'm told she will need the canine influenza vaccine before grooming. I'm 100% fine with the vaccine, but not the day of her grooming as she is already anxious to get groomed.
On top of that, I'm not going to see if side effects she has are from the vaccine or grooming (vomiting, lethargic, not eating). To be told the day before that she will need a vaccine before the grooming- and this is a brand new policy as of two days ago-- is unprofessional. I canceled the grooming and now I am in a rush to find another one in the area as she needs to be groomed before next week. If this is a new policy, it should not apply to existing appointments (especially the week of). I am very disappointed.

The staff is always friendly and their COVID protocols are easy. The main reason we are there is for Dr Candeletta, she's great but impressed by the overall staff. Recently we had to call in about our pup and Dr K kindly returned our call and gave us some instructions for the next 72 hours. It was refreshing to be able to get ahold of a vet in a moment of need. Thankful for this facility.

I recently moved into the area from LA and my neighbor recommended this vet office. I was so pleased when I went in today. It was not too busy, it was very clean and orderly. Each staff member was sweet but professional and Dr K was friendly and thorough explaining things to me clearly and in detail. Thank you! We will be back

This is a 5 star back office and 2 star front office. Since the ownership change making an appointment or following up on status of our dogs has resulted in at least a 5 to 10 minute wait on hold. This did not occur with previous ownership. Can't stress how great the back office is but need to get past the wall of a front office.

1. The visit took over an hour. Dr. Maki said they were "backed up." 2. Dr. Maki said that if the sore had healed in a week, I didn't need to bring my dog, Lad back. 3. When the tech brought my dog out, she mentioned that he might have ringworm, which is contagious to humans. She said that Dr. Maki said that I SHOULD bring Lad back in a week. 4.
No discharge instructions. (sent them later by email, at my request) 5. They forgot to give me one of the meds, which I had paid for. You need to do a fungal test to diagnose ringworm. They didn't, they just scared me to death. They did make an adjustment to my bill. Dr. Maki called me later and apologized for the "miscommunication." I will never go back there.

Today I had great service from Vet Tech Kenny! and Dr Kirollos Abdelmalek. Our two dogs came down with a form of Kennel Cough. We were able to get an appointment for today. I did have to wait in the hot sun parking lot for a while as they had to make arraignments for a clean room due to Kennel Cough (hopefully their air condition lobby will be open soon, if not they should erect temporary parking covers over stalls to block out the hot sun if you have to wait) For the exam and meds, I felt was a fair to good price, I did not feel over charged as some here on this yelp page have stated. Again, for Kenny's Bosses he did a Great Job today.

Wow- all I have to say is that this is the best veterinarian there is. The people who work here are truly the kindest people I have ever met. I get tears in my eyes just thinking about their compassion and kindness. We had to put our dog down Button (almost 19 years old) and the staff and vet were so incredibly kind and made it the best situation possible.
I was balling so much and couldn't stop crying and they gave us a lovely room with beautiful classical music and candles. They were such good and kind people and truly cared about us and Button so much. The vet did a full exam to see what his status was in front of us and sadly it was Button's time (his heart and lungs were failing). They let us stay with Button the entire time and gave us as much time as we needed.
Although it was horribly hard and such a sad day they were so incredible and went above and beyond. Even on such a dark day we were able to find peace because of how incredible the vet and staff were. We were so touched by their kindness. We just received a beautiful condolences card from them too. They are so incredible and I hope everyone will take their animals here for care because they actually care.

I used to take my dogs here for grooming and for any veterinary concerns and the staff here have always been 100% especially during this pandemic. about 2 months ago I had to let one of my babies go due to old age/blindness and i brought her here to get put down and the doctors and the staff were all so kind and made the process a little more bearing.
I appreciate the card they sent us in the mail with individual hand written notes about Nala. It was a really sweet gesture from everyone at Irvine Pet Complex. i still take my other dog here for grooming and he always comes out lookin so handsome

We have been going to IPC for 4 years. Most of our experiences have not been that great but we liked the fact that it was just a mile away from our home. But the straw that broke the camel's back was when they refused to work with our dog because they wanted him medicated before being seen. Dr. Omar Elamir was the rudest vet I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with.
He told us that our dog would not be receiving his vaccines and that was that. I told him that this had not happened before and that it was time I found another vet for my pup. I asked him to provide me with his flea medication and he said "okay, well, you can get that at the new vet's off then." He was incredibly rude and if it wasn't for the kindness of the office staff I would not even give them one star! If you want a caring vet for your animal, this is NOT the place.

Let's just say I've been coming here for 9 years with my not so mini dachshund. And now I have a 4 month old yorkie I get to bring. I used to live in Irvine but now I live in Yorba Linda. I love and trust this place so much, I'm willing to make the drive. Dr. K is hands down amazing. He explains everything thoroughly and takes his time with you. He's doesn't go over board and he's definitely not a minimalist when's it comes to treatment and care for your animal.he's practical!

This review is for Mack. He went above and beyond on 9/1/20 to fulfill a Just Food for Dogs order. I had a last minute cancellation from my previous fresh dog food company and needed to scramble to feed my 8 year old poodle/ chihuahua. He explained transitioning guides and the best option for my dog. I chose the FedEx delivery option since I would not be able to get there before they closed.
At the last minute, FedEx cancelled their delivery and Mack fixed the situation and my Pickles got to eat his Just Food for Dogs today, and loved every bite. Thank you Mack, for your knowledge, courtesy, and commitment to deliver great customer service.

I looked everywhere for a decent price for my dog getting his teeth pulled n cleaned as most places wanted 1500! I was greeted outside warmly and my dog was taken in and assessed. They gave me a really really decent estimate and gave me what the low/high would be which was great! We got his teeth done the following week. He was taken care of beautifully.
I was given the meds to help w pain/infection and called on to make sure he was doing well. I'm happy to move all three of my pets to this facility with total confidence.

I had all my four dogs ear cropping here! Kukua, Misa, Mana, Tu n Trinity. The employees were knowledgeable n friendly. All my dogs ear cropping went well. They all turned out Beautifully. They do not do the pitbull short butcher looking ear cropping. It's an elegant cut. The ear cropping all matched their heads! I had a lot of complements on their ears.
The doctors are professional and they did an Excellent job! They do a lot of show dogs ear cropping here. On my future dogs. I will return for their ear cropping Irvine Pet Complex!.

Dr Maki, is kind compassionate and a wonderful caring doctor. I was a wreck leaving Sophie for her dental and he called me a couple of times to go over everything and put me at ease. Sophie came home in great shape and her recovery was really fast. I cannot say enough good things about this doctor. The only thing is he is only there one day a week.
I would also like to mention Ryan at the front desk who is one of the nicest receptionist ever. Someone who actually takes his work seriously and gives it his all. Just wonderful.

Amazing people and providers! This group of people from the DVM's to the staff are fantastic. They are kind, caring and understanding of you and your pet's needs. They have helped with a death of a pet, a new puppy and ongoing health needs for my other dog. They were referred to me and I have not been disappointed once!

I'm not really sure where to start as anything to do with my pet is so emotional. I could write a book, but instead I'll just write a few brief sentences about the Irvine Pet Complex. I have never received better care for Jacquie Onassis than I did from Sidney, the Owner to all of the front office staff. They are all truly great people. As for Jacquies Doctor, Dr. Haznat, she is a gem.
She is a Surgeon and unfortunately Jacquie needed a few procedures which are not easy at her advanced age. I want to commend Dr. Haznat for her professionalism and also her excellent work on Jacquie. Sure, they are things I can nitpick and throw in, but they are little and in the grand scheme of things I like the Doctor, I like the Staff and I like the results.
It *IS* expensive, approaching VCA Tustin territory, but let me tell you, you DO get what you pay for. In closing, thank you to the Irvine Pet Complex. You have a client for life in us. Jacquie Onassis & her Dad.
