Bruce is the CEO and head hauncho of Sandy's. He was one of the first people able to successfully keep Acropora in a reef tank back in the '90s. Bruce was the first person to start selling RODI water in the United States. He is also a US Air Force Veteran. Though you may not see him on the floor these days, Bruce is our fearless leader.
Sandy's Pet Shop loves birds! From parakeets to cockatiels to finches, Sandy's is a bird-lover's dream. Our resident bird is Einstein. He is a harlequin macaw that Sandy hatched from an egg over 20 years ago. Einstein loves attention and his favorite words are hello, what's up, good morning, and cracker. He loves almonds, oranges, and strawberries. Come in today for all your bird needs and to say hi to Einstein!

This was our first visit. The selection, staff expertise, and overall atmosphere were exceptional. A big box store will never be able to compete with the knowledgeable service and peace of mind that you are shopping with someone who truly cares about their animals. This is our new primary spot for all pet supplies that they offer. Definitely worth the trip across town.

This is the best fish store in the area in my opinion. Most knowledgeable staff in the louisville metro area who are always available to answer questions. Have a reasonable policy of returns. Reasonable selection of fish (although I do genuinely wish that their selection becomes even wider but this is not a problem with the store itself). Aquatic plant selection is always good quality (however in my opinion they have to stock more plants and more variety of plants more often, but again not the problem of the fish store itself).
In summary, in my opinion, best fish store in the area overall. I do genuinely wish they expand the number of tanks, species of fish carried and species of aquatic plants carried soon in the near future.

Had a amazing time in this pet shop with my grandson and husband. As a matter of fact after an hour being there, my grandson still did not want to leave. Tori was fantastic and very knowledgeable. My grandson loved her. He wanted to go back later that day to see his new friend "Tori". Had so much fun. Make sure you check out Einstein when you go. We will be back. Such very nice people work here.

Excellent pet store. I went from a 15 gallon aquarium to a 125 gallon cichlid tank. The advice and knowledge of the employees here have helped me successfully build a great aquarium that I really enjoy. From first cycling the tank to adding new fish, live plants, filtration, water testing, and more - these folks are top notch. The big box stores will never compare.
