Services
Northarlington Animal Clinic is located at 5011 Dierker Rd. Columbus, OH 43220. We are located just north of Henderson Road, approximately 2 miles east of Riverside Drive and 3 miles west of State Route 315. We encourage pet owners to familiarize themselves with the route from their home to the nearest emergency clinic; in an emergency situation it is very difficult to handle a sick or injured animal and navigate unfamiliar streets!
Preventative medicine: At the Northarlington Animal Clinic, we believe that it is almost always easier (and more affordable!) to prevent disease rather than treat it! Physical examinations, vaccinations, heartworm testing and regular lab work are just a few of the ways that we try to identify and prevent illnesses.
The Northarlington Animal is pleased to offer boarding for our veterinary patients only. In addition to cats and dogs (under 40 pounds), we are happy to offer boarding services for birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, rats, mice and gerbils. Please note that we require dogs to receive the bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine every 6 months.
All pets must be current on their vaccinations. For dogs this includes Canine Influenza, DA2P, bordatella and rabies. Please note that we do require bordetella every 6 months for dogs. Cats must be current on their PRC and rabies vaccine If you cannot provide proof of vaccination we will contact your vet for confirmation.

Dr. Marya Teders has been our vet for the past 4 years and I can't say enough good things. Not only is Dr. Teders smart, kind, and compassionate but the whole staff at Northarlington is as well. I highly recommend you pick Northarlington if you are looking for a care team for your pet(s).

Overall I have had a very good experience with North Arlington Animal Clinic. I have been a customer for the last 7 months with my new puppy and they have been great! They are a very clean office, they have a lot of availability for appointments (including weekends), reasonable pricing, lots of knowledgeable vets and staff, and they are very kind and accommodating.

They recently performed my dogs spay procedure and were very informative about the surgery and necessary aftercare. They even have options for after hours emergency care at this office, which puts my mind at ease to know I am able to call my vet after hours for help. I would recommend them to any new pet owner or anyone looking to get their pet fixed.

I have been going to Dr. tenders since she took over in this building. She has a huge heart and will take great care of your pets. When my dog Suki was diagnosed with cancer she was very extremely empathetic and addressed all of her needs during a very tough few years. Since then I have had a cat and two more dogs that she has cared for with grace.

Her business has grown along with her clientele. I am happy that her clinic is thriving and she and her wonderful staff deserve it. I fully trust Dr. Teders and her staff with my fur babies!

I feel the need to write a review because someone left an absolutely horrible one lambasting Dr. Teders and her team who are quite possibly the most kind and caring group of people I have come across. I've brought my six pets (three dogs -one of whom is a mill dog- & three cats) into them as well as two previous pets (who received excellent end of life care).

One of my dogs loves Dr. Teders so much he literally jumps and smiles whenever I say her name. He's obsessed with her. They give EXCELLENT go home instructions, are available 24/7 for emergencies, keep detailed records for every patient that are available at any time if asked, and I'd recommend them to absolutely anyone looking for top notch animal care. Please don't listen to any crazy review on here. Your pets will love it :)

Friendly staff. Very knowledgeable. Took great care of my boys and were very up front about costs. Scheduled a minor surgery and a night of boarding.

The entire staff at this place is amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and kind with my very anxious dog as well as my five rats. It's very hard to find a vet clinic that not only will see my little critters but it's very knowledgeable about them and their needs. 3 of my girls have had surgery with them and they are amazingly attentive. 3 people in the OR at all times just to monitor a little rat.

They always call me with updates on how the surgery went, which is great. I've also brought them 2 strays to check for chips, they were more than happy to scan the animals, no appointment needed. I always recommend them to my friends looking for a vet.

The people I've encountered thus far have all been friendly and helpful. The vet has listened to any concerns I've had and has been knowledgeable in how to proceed. My pets prescriptions are all reasonably priced. So far every visit has cost me less than I nervously anticipated. No complaints.

I am a new puppy owner, and I have done tons of research on the best care for him. I confidently chose Northarlington Vet to have his 8 week appointment when we first got him, and was charged much more than what I was quoted for. There were hidden costs that were not disclosed to me. I couldn't fill prescriptions online, and when I called to express concern was dismissed. Shots and help from vet techs felt very rushed. I have changed vets and feel much more supported about my puppy's health.

Traumatized our puppy. When my wife left, our puppy was shivering in fear from the rushed shots she was given. Vets are supposed to be comforting to animals, not just stick them with needles when they're obvious not calm/ready. We've been to other vets that are in another league compared to this place. Don't bring your pets here. Absolute garbage.

My cat was in need of surgery. Had never been there before. They were great. Even though they had to keep her for a few days to ensure her healing process they never forgot me. I would get daily updates on how she was healing as well as her meds eating etc. The first couple of days I got numerous calls. Very thankful for that. Your animal is like one of your kids and they realize that. Everyone I spoke to was very nice. And the Dr called himself afterwards to fill me in on her surgery. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my girl.

I am so happy we found Northarlington Animal Clinic. We started out taking our puppy to another practice in town that was many times over more expensive. I assumed that paying more would equate to better customer service but when my puppy needed an appointment the most, they didnt have time to get us in. We left and have never looked back. The people at NAC are so thoughtful and really spend time getting to know you and your pet. I have never had an issue getting an appointment and know my puppy is getting great care.

This business is absolutely awful. The veterinarian team, a married couple is concerned only with financial gain. They do not give discharge instructions, they upsell, and the worst factor is that they attempt to increase patient load while retaining clientele as they purposefully did not test my pug for diabetes after I requested them to on multiple occasions resulting in fatal complications.

The only thing Dr. Teders was concerned about was the cost of treating secondary complications due to untreated diabetes. Please opt for any other business. I have known many animals who have been misdiagnosed or neglected in order to pay more for additional testing In fact, my pug had a seizure and Dr. Teders said that he had a brain tumor and needed to be euthanized.

She said this with no imaging, testing, bloodwork, nothing. I was also infuriated with her when I called the "emergency line" one night when my pug was experiencing a diabetic crisis. Dr. Teders didn't respond for over three hours and finally texted me back saying "If this continues make an appointment to bring him in this week." After this I rushed my pug to the Ohio state veterinary medical center and they told me that he was in diabetic crisis and would have died if I had followed Dr. Teder's advice.

I filed official complaints with the AVMA as well as the veterinary licensing board for the state of Ohio and Dr. teeters had her license suspended and was called to a hearing for relicensure. This can be assessed via public search for licensure coordination Obviously I had sought out a new vet after this experience who called for my pets Medical Records at Northarlington Animal Clinic.

Whom ever the assistant spoke to at Northarlington claim that they had "absolutely no records of me or my pets ever being clients or patients." Knowing that this violated laws set forth by the board of pharmacy I notified them in this clinic was inspected. In fact, this place was reprimanded by the Ohio state board of pharmacy for destroying patient records.

Please never take your pets here, they will smile and pretend to be your friend but that is all just a front so they can make money. When I noticed that the Teders' brand new extravagant SUV the care quality quickly dissipated and it became obvious and apparent that they were just an operation for money at this point. I am speaking for the pets here. Please have nothing to do with this business. I guarantee that your pet will die an early death if taken to this business for veterinary care.

I wish I were able give Northarlington Animal Clinic 100 stars! What an absolute AMAZING practice! We were visiting Columbus from out of town and my Malti-Tzu, Bubbie, developed an infected hot spot on his tail overnight and he had to be seen right away. Not being familiar with any vets in the area, I was not sure who would be available to treat my little guy the same day without an appointment and without already being an established patient.

From the minute Elyse at the front desk answered my call, I knew I was in the right hands. She told us to come in right away and ensured that we would be seen. How refreshing to find a veterinarian that truly has the care, comfort and wellbeing of pets as their number one priority. When we arrived, Bub and I were promptly assigned a room and technician Josh was there in no time to take all of our information and ask questions. Then, Dr. Marya Teders came in to see us.

She carefully listened to my concerns and provided ample time addressing my dog's individual needs. She offered different types of treatment options, such as orals vs. injection, while explaining the pros and cons of each as well as the price difference. This was important as we all know that quality vet care can be costly and we want to be empowered to make the best choices for our babies. Bub was already feeling much better by the time we left and his tail healed beautifully. Excellent practice, superb staff and an amazing veterinarian. Thank you North Arlington Animal Clinic!

I could not be happier with this practice. I have had dogs and cats my whole life and after moving to this part of town we were so happy to find Northarlington Animal Clinic. My rescue dog is terrified of the vet and of having his nails trimmed, which he needs fairly often. Marya is endlessly patient with him and we love seeing Griffin, the comfort dog for dogs, he truly knows when another animal is anxious.

I have been to several vets over the years and after being spoiled by the late Dr Burton so many years ago, I am so happy to have found a veterinarian that treats my dog so well. I also love that they have seperate cat and dog entrances.

I have been to lots of vet practices in the various cities that I've lived in, and Marya is - by far - the very best. Over the years, I have had dogs with very complex needs/issues (e.g., epilepsy, anal sac removal, allergies, etc.) and Marya has taken amazing care of them -- and, with great kindness and patience. The staff is exceptional and the grooming/boarding is great, too. My dogs will always go to Northarlington.

$213 to groom a cat?! Took my 14 yr old cat in for grooming. 1) Their website is out of date, which caused problems getting medical records transferred from previous vet. 2) Pricing on the website is out of date, and the cost of grooming and REQUIRED sedation was much higher than we anticipated. 3) The groomer didn't even know that cats have whiskers on their legs to detect motion of their prey.

She laughed when I told her this. I give two stars only because Dr. Marya kept close enough watch on my sedated geriatric cat to recognize that she was crashing from the sedative and needed atropine. (something they required, but I've never had to have her sedated in the past) $213 later she still has mats and they didn't even do a hygienic shave of the hind quarters. I'm slowly clipping mats each day to finalize her grooming.

She has long, fine hair that tangles like crazy. Dr. Marya Teders didn't tell me about the heart rate crash until I mentioned that she still had mats. Then the conversation turned to her heart rate and respiration. She also didn't have vitals info, e.g. weight, temperature, etc. She didn't offer to finish the job another day. Overall, service was disjointed, disorganized, incomplete and not something I'll be bringing my other pets to.

My elderly parents had their cats vetted here for years. When they passed away I needed to find homes for them. I needed records. They said that they had them and would be happy to provide them. Then said since cats hadn't been seen in 2 years they didn't have. After much run around gave me 2 records. Then later said they did have them. Drove 25 miles again to get records (not all) they only had name, breed age.

No test results. Rescue groups wanted these to prove cats health. Several rescue groups refused to take without. They couldn't understand that the vet said they had that the tests were done, but no results. Many rescue groups can't afford to run these tests again, they want vet records. I feel that this vet took advantage of my 90+ year old parents with little to no concern for their animals.

I even offered to pay whatever they would charge for the printing of said records. Got several different answers and several different excuses. Also they charged my parents more than my vet charges for same services. Would never recommend to pet parents who care. It was hard to accept during our time of grief at losing parents and then getting no help from them.

Dr Teders has saved my 2 and a half year old lab rescue mut dog not once, but twice throughout her life span. The staff is awesome and it's nice to know a vet can care as much as for your dog as you do! She makes you feel completely comfortable and is very insightful on everything. She had answers for all of my crazy dog mom questions while my dog was in the emergency vet at all hours. I would recommend Northarlington Animal Clinic to EVERYONE. They have found a life long client!

We couldn't be happier with the end of life care we received for our precious pet. Dr. Teders did an excellent job explaining our options in an unbiased way. Ultimately, it was our decision to make. We decided to have blood work done, and that helped to make the choice easier. When it came time to put our friend to sleep, Dr. T explained the process thoroughly, and Charlie went peacefully and gently.

We felt, in no way, rushed and had all the time we needed to say goodbye. What could have been a traumatic experience actually brought a great sense of relief thanks to the great care. From Dr. T to Ivy to Stacy and the rest of the crew, I'd like to thank you for the kind and gentle way you handled our pet over the past few years but especially today.

This kind, incredible practice took me same day when my current vet -- who had been treating my cat extensively for years -- was "too busy" to even look at him when he took a sudden turn for the worst. My cat did not make it through the day, but was at least able to be made comfortable in a kind, loving environment in his final hours. I am so grateful to everyone at this practice -- every single person we encountered was helpful and empathetic. I can't recommend this group enough!

Just started bringing our two dogs here a little over a month ago. Everyone was informed, helpful, and engaging. Dr Teders was great. She was personable and you could tell there was a real care for our two dogs which made my wife and I feel even more comfortable. The option for after hours emergency care is a big plus too. NAAC is a our new home!

Dr. Teders is the best. I drive out of my way to see her because she's so great. I always feel like she really takes the time to listen and understand, I never feel like I'm pressured into buying expensive things, and she's great with my animals! I have to knock down two stars though because she really needs to get some more comfortable seating in her waiting room. These wood planks just don't cut it when I'm stuck waiting at least an hour to be seen every time I come in.

I can't say enough great things about this establishment and Dr. Teders. I had to take my mom's dog in for emergency ACL replacement surgery while visiting from out of town and have never felt more comfortable or at peace at a vet hospital. Dr. Teders took the time to answer all of our questions and make sure we were aware of all of our options (AND was so great with our nervous dog!

She really took the time to calm her down and make her comfortable). The surgery was complicated (several hours long) which, of course, was very nerve racking for us. I received a call from Dr. Teders herself immediately after surgery letting me know how everything went and a follow up call a few days later checking in on us. Really terrific experience and highly recommend for any animal lover out there!

Lindsey is a newer groomer here. I took both my dogs to be groomed. When I arrived, the young lady at the front desk went to get Lindsey, she came out and asked how I preferred they be groomed. This was the first time I had ever been consulted face to face. Lindsey did a great job, they have always done a great job grooming my dog, however, both were groomed as short as I wanted. When I went to pick them up, Lindsey actually brought them out! It will be nice to get to know the person that grooms my dog! Well done N Arlington!

Great people, great service and (for us) great location. I rescued a Maltese-Shihtzu mix from a sketchy person on Craigslist. She was in poor health when we picked her up and our first stop was Northarlington to get her checked over. Dr. Teders put our very skittish (previously unloved) dog at ease. Our little gal ended up getting spayed, updating her vaccinations, having two teeth removed by Dr. Teders as well as getting groomed at the clinic later that week. We've had our dog for nearly a year and she is now happy and healthy with her new family. We're glad to have great health care for her close to home.

I am a customer for life! Thank you to the doctors and staff for the kindness, support and help you are giving to our kitten, Ninja and our family. Our kitten is pretty ill and we still don't know if he'll make it but the care and compassion that Dr. Teders shows is helping us through this unexpected ordeal. They have let us come and visit Ninja daily and call me twice a day to give us updates. Thank you again for your kindness! P.s. Northarlington Animal Clinic offers emergency care after hours now!

I was told to come to this location when my regular vet was injured and unable to see my sick cat. I figured if it was recommended, I should try it as I needed to get my cat to the vet ASAP. This place is amazing. They were able to get me in no problems, I'm pretty sure the day I called they were able to fit me in. I took my cat there and she was really sick and they were unable to do the tests needed right then, so they kept her overnight - no charge. Dr. Teders was also incredibly patient and understanding when I told her that I had consulted my sister, who is also a Vet but does not live in the area, about the best course of action to take for my cat that would be the least expensive but still work.

I know most vets would probably find that insulting but she took it in stride, even offering to call and talk to my sister to keep her appraised of the situation. They were able to diagnose and treat my cat, all while explaining everything along the way. Everyone is incredibly nice there and patient and they really do care about the well being of the pet and the pet owners. I've taken my other cat there as well, and again, due to time constraints and my work schedule I was able to drop her off on my way to work, and they kept her overnight with no charge since it was most convenient with my schedule.

I take my cats there when they need larger procedures done on them (teeth cleanings, sudden illnesses, etc.) and have absolutely no complaints about my experiences at this office. This is seriously one of the best Vet Clinics in the area.

Pros - nice, courteous staff - reliable, professional yet caring vets - very short waiting time - quiet and serene place (big pro if you have a cat) - separate entries for cats and dogs - vets take a lot of their time to answer all of your questions and offer suggestions - while at OSU vet clinic, after the student failed to correctly calculate my cat's heart rate (not to mention that the certified vet didn't bother to double check) then both dragooning me into putting my cat through unnecessary procedures using very awkward hints, the vet at NA carefully calculated twice for my sake and it was perfectly normal. Cons - absolutely nothing to complain about
