We've been going here for years. As the pandemic dragged on it became more and more difficult to get an appointment. Most are 3 to 4 weeks out any time you call, even for more urgent issues. When I called recently because our dog has an ear infection (he's prone to them and they have given us meds in the past that I just needed refilled), they told me that he had to come in to be seen, but that the next appointment was more than 1 month out.
Then they tried to schedule it. I asked if they thought we should just wait for over a month with our dog in pain to go to their appointment. They said, "no", you shouldn't wait. So why would you even offer the appointment? I wish they would have slowed down the number of new patients they were accepting so that we could actually use them. We instead had to go to Oly to be see by a different vet.
They don't appear to be interested in receiving feedback either. I hope they can get things back on track and pause on new patients until they have a more manageable schedule. We used to love them!

What a wonderful experience. One needs wonderful when taking our pet in suddenly for an illness. They have the heart and compassion that we all should strive for in even our own daily lives. Prices were reasonable and the attention to each patient was even noticable while observing social distancing and "barking lot" triage and care.

When our elderly dog had a sudden change in condition, we needed help. Anyone that has attempted to get animal services during the pandemic knows that it's an incredibly difficult time to do so. Alicia at Steamboat, where our dog has gone for regular checkups and had major surgery a few years ago, was so kind and caring as she worked to try and get us a palliative care appointment.
One of them most caring veterinarian's I have ever met, Dr. Warbingon, agreed to see him the following morning. She was so caring to both our sweet dog and us as we all moved through the experience of losing him. We will forever be grateful for the work the staff does there every day. Every staff member we came in contact with was kind, quiet, and responsive to the situation.

We take all 3 of our dogs to Steamboat. They see Dr. Capsey, specifically, who is amazing. I appreciate how he and the techs treat our pups. Also, when my other pet sadly passed, Steamboat allowed me to take my time saying goodbye (they were closing at this time), and even let me see him one more time a couple days later when I really struggling w/ his passing. They set up a private room and let me take my time. I appreciated this so much. I have other family members who bring their pets to Steamboat. We have no complaints :)

We were lucky enough to get our pup into steamboat due to an emergency follow up appointment. They booked us out a month, but called within 1.5 weeks with a cancelation and got us in sooner. We have loved the care the vets and staff have shown our pets and their communication with us. They are very reasonably priced and don't pressure you into things, but explain the processes and help you reach a decision.
We had a very stressful situation with our pup and they helped ease the stress and make it a manageable situation. This experience has been consistent with both vets we have been paired with. I know with COVID it is a longer timeline to book, but definitely worth the wait for the love and service your fur baby will receive.

Thank you SO much to the staff and doctors at Steamboat Animal Hospital. Our little June Bug (kitty) is 8 mos old and got sick with an upper respiratory infection. Every single animal ER from Centralia to Tacoma to Yelm were at capacity so regrettably turned us away but Steamboat Island Hospital was able to squeeze her in. Thanks to ALL Vet staff out there. Thank you for working tirelessly to keep our furbabies safe and healthy!
