We're building a better animal shelter in a more natural setting, to achieve even more for pets and people. Faithful Friends Animal Society was born out of a moral imperative to expose the mass killing of cats and dogs entering Delaware's publicly funded shelters. For two decades, our advocacy has vastly improved outcomes for shelter animals, saving thousands of easily adoptable, trainable, and treatable pets from certain death. With an unflagging commitment to our mission, we continue to advocate for reform, save lives, and reduce pet relinquishment through our local programs and services.

In 2000 a group of local animal lovers began to reveal the problem of pet homelessness in Delaware and expose the animal shelters' reliance on mass euthanasia to free up space for more incoming pets. At that time, 80-90% of the animals entering Delaware shelters did not make it out alive! It would take nearly two decades to change this.
Faithful Friends was started in the year 2000 by a group of citizens who knew animals needed a voice. At that time 90% of the animals entering Delaware's publicly funded shelters each year were euthanized. Faithful Friends has led the way to reform animal welfare in Delaware to create better protection for a companion in local shelters and in the home.
Our Pet Food & Supply Bank was created to assist people who are financially struggling to take care of their pets or cat colonies. Our objective is to reduce pet relinquishment due to the cost of care and to support those who feed community cats. We welcome donations of any amount to support this free service.
24 hours before your appointment: Send current medical & vaccination records to vetcare@faithfulfriends.us or text (302) 792-7387. Making veterinary care more accessible helps families keep their pets and helps community animal rescuers care for homeless animals. Our clinic offers quality, low-cost veterinary services, including spay/neuter, vaccinations, and routine exams.

I recently went for a vet appointment. The nurse was very friendly and knowledgeable. The doctor, I believe it was Dr. Sweeney, is the sweetest veterinarian. She answered all my questions and was so informative. I've never felt so comfortable talking to a doctor! I was also so surprised when they came out of the appointment to let me know how good Luna (my cat) did.
I thought she was going to be a terror! The one downside was the experience with the front desk. The older woman was on the phone while the two younger girls were just sitting on their phones laughing. I don't know if maybe the front is run by volunteers? But it was weirdly unprofessionally and I felt awkward in the lobby.

Rescued my dog there. My dog is amazing, I don't know what I would do without her! But the information they told me about her was not correct, like her age she is obviously younger then they said. They said shes not good with other dogs, the problem with pits is they are VERY protective of they're owners and kids, , and get very jealous, that's why pits will attack other dogs.
They get vicious real quick if they fear for they're owners or if another dog gets too much attention from their owner. Remember that if you decide to get a pit mix. But they're the best, most loyal and loving dogs you can have. She is wonderful! Also use vet services. Had my dog sedated and had nails done. They were great with her and my anxiety.
I purchased non toxic nail polish an asked if they would paint her nails while she's out, , they wouldn't do it. That was disappointing. I love her so much though! A very sweet and lovable pit mix. She's got quite a following on social media too! See her videos and reels on Instagram. Ethical not getting paid, just for fun, but there cute! Her name when I got her was mommas because her nipples were sagging so bad from having litter after litter. I fattened her up, spoiled her rotten, changed her name to Baby, because that's exactly what she is.

This place is wonderful. My cat was sick with a really serious infection, the surgery she needed would have cost four thousand dollars elsewhere. I didn't have that kind of money, and had it not been for Faithful Friends I would have had to put her down. They did the surgery for less than a quarter of the cost, took great care of her, and were there for me the next day when I had questions about her recovery. I'll definitely be back. I can't say enough good things about them, I'm so appreciative of everything they did.
