Melissa was easy to talk to. She was available even outside of scheduled training sessions for questions/reassurance.

I have two Vizsla year old dogs who have had no professional training. I engaged Melissa from wonder dog to help me achieve walking both dogs on leashes by myself. Melissa was very capable and now I can walk both dogs by myself. As a bonus both dogs love Melissa!

I had conceded defeat with my 2 Goldens, but with some help from Melissa, i can see light at the end of the tunnel! Melissa has incredible patience with dogs and humans alike, i recommend her and Wonder Dog to all my friends!

Kim Todd from Wonder Dog training was fantastic to work with! She communicated clearly and in a way that was easy to understand. She gave us a ton of tools and advice to keep my dog Neo healthy, happy and safe. She helped me grow a stronger bond with my dog through training and now I feel like we can go out and have some fun, but while knowing he has the skills and understanding to respond to me when needed.

Katherine was our trainer and was incredible - you can tell she loves dogs and is awesome at what she does - our puppies responded to her really well. Would definitely recommend her to anybody looking for an above quality trainer at a reasonable price. Would give 11 out of 10 if I could.

Katherine did a great job training me on how to train my dog. In a few short weeks he went from not knowing commands to being on his way to being a pro at Sit, Stay, Leave it, Drop it, Watch and Come. His leash skills also improved. Katherine provided great hand outs on each command which helped me further digest the information. She was responsive to any requests and you can tell she clearly loves dogs!

Sharon Westervelt - Virtual Dog Trainer with Wonder Dogs My husband Jim and I have been working with Sharon Westervelt for about two months. Our puppy Cooper is going to be a big dog and we wanted him to be well behaved by the time he is full-grown. About. 15 years ago, we worked in person with Jennifer La Bar, founder and owner of Wonder Dogs. We had such a good experience that we naturally turned to Wonder Dogs again with our new puppy.

Because of our location, we were told that in-person training was not available but virtual training was an option. We decided to try it and enjoyed it so much that we are recommending it to anyone who asks. Sharon is such an amazing trainer - of both dogs and people! We loved working with her from the first session. Her upbeat personality and love for dogs is so evident.

In addition, she is so patient and demonstrates, explains, and encourages repetition as many times as needed. She is accessible and responsive to emails and text messages. After each session, she sends a summary of the skills covered. In between sessions, if we had any challenges, we could take a video and send it to her for a critique. We could go on and on, but suffice it to say that we loved working with Sharon and would give her ten stars if they were available!

Sharon Westervelt -Virtual Dog Trainer with Wonder Dogs We have been working with Sharon for the last two months. We can't say enough wonderful things about her and our experience with virtual training. Sharon is so knowledgeable! She listens to every question and concern and has such great suggestions for overcoming puppy behavioral challenges.

We love her positive, upbeat attitude! Of course, she's really training us to train our dog. She always demonstrates with her dog and patiently allows us to repeat the skills as many times as needed with our pup. At the end of each session, she sends an email summarizing the skills we covered that day. If we have any questions or problems between sessions, we can send her a video and she'll critique the problem. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that we love Sharon and would recommend her to anyone who needs help teaching their dog, young or old, new tricks!

Sharon is an incredible trainer, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and fun to work with. She has all sorts of helpful insights in addition to the training she gave, all of which were useful. She is an active listener, always anxious to answer any questions, and adjusted the pace and type of instruction to our needs. And, of course, she loves dogs! We have worked with trainers before, but she is by far the best we have seen. I recommend her without hesitation.

Melissa is absolutely fabulous as a trainer of humans and our pets. She understands the psyche of puppies/dogs and devotes all her energy and training to positive reinforcement. She seeks to understand the situation and then offers excellent advice on how to appropriately work through whatever issue you're trying to address. She's dependable and always on time for training sessions. Melissa is just an all around joy to work with. Thank you, Melissa, for helping us to gently and kindly work with through many challenges with our previously abandoned rescue dog!

I can't say enough nice things about Wonder Dig Training. They were quick to respond and find me a trainer for a 5 month old rescue pup. I worked with Cat and she was a wealth of knowledge. She gave me really great info and ideas and was even available between trainings to answer questions. It's worth the investment to get your pup set up for success.

We finished puppy socialization class with Cat today and it was such a great experience. My boy learned how to interact positively with other dogs and people, learned manners, he carries himself with such confidence, and I feel like a much more competent dog owner. We're going to miss going to class each weekend and Ozzy is going to miss Cat so much, he adores her. It was a fantastic class that I'll be recommending to any new puppy owners I come across.

Melissa was great to work with. She was always prompt and ready to go. We started with a rambunctious 6 month old puppy and today we have a much better behaved young lady who listens and wants to please us. Using Melissa's techniques we have all learned so much in how to focus and build confidence. It's been a great experience.

Our dog has learned so much from her training and it has made quite a difference in her behavior. Our trainer, Melissa is wonderful! Very knowledgeable and so nice to work with. Signed my puppy, Rosie, up for the 2-Week Puppy Preschool with Katherine. I am truly beyond amazed at how much progress she made with Rosie! I've had past trainers tell me to use aversive methods, that it would take months for a puppy to walk nicely on a leash, etc., but 2 weeks with Katherine and my baby is now so much more well-behaved. I saw drastic change in Rosie's loose-leash walking, and she's doing so well with "heel" as well. Katherine herself is very kind and gentle when teaching, but also firm enough to not let Rosie get away with bad behaviors.

This kind of benevolent leadership between dog x human is exactly what I value. She's also very knowledgeable and I felt comfortable asking her questions. Choosing Wonder Dog Training over other trainers was the best decision I've made and I'm excited to continue reinforcing the skills that Rosie was taught!

Melissa has been awesome! Toby is our first rescue and we knew we needed training ( us too!) to help with his anxiety and confidence. She was available and very responsive and flexible with our schedule. She encouraged us and provided great feedback and ideas! Will definitely recommend and call her again if any meeds arise!

Melissa did one on one training for my two cavapoos and it was fantastic. Melissa really helped to break down the psychology of my girls to me and their behaviors. I highly recommend!

Melissa from Wonder Dog Training was absolutely wonderful to work with. She is so calm, patient and very understanding. Our dog is about 10 years old and at first I questioned if training would help or not because of his age. It was completely worth it and wish we had found Melissa years ago! Our dog is reactive to everything- people, other dogs, bicycles and skateboards so walking him like most regular dog owners do was such a challenge and such a stressful event for him that at some point we stopped. Melissa gave us the tools we needed and confidence on how to navigate situations and work with Auggie with treat based/ reward training.

So now we are able to walk him in the neighborhood and park. The training was not just for Auggie but also for us. We can say that we and Auggie successfully graduated from Melissa's program. It really was life changing to work with Melissa.

My covid puppy is the best thing EVER and would I trust just anybody with her. NO WAY! When I got her I immediately started her in puppy daycare with Colleen and got her into one on one classes with Cat (yes, the dog trainers name is Cat). My shy but wild puppy has become pack leader at daycare and teaches the new pups the ropes, she's graduated puppy school (not really how) and has/is a great puppy due to the love and training both Cat and Colleen give and gave to her.

I would definitely go for the one on one training if you can do it but that's just me but I think it's well worth it for the owner and the pup. Highly recommended both! 2 thumbs up and 4 paws! Thanks again Colleen and Cat for loving Jenna!

Did the puppy class with Kat and it was great! So fun to watch the puppies play and grow each week, and the training tips are very helpful!

My wife and I loved working with Cat! She is very professional and knowledgeable in her field. Our puppy was very sweet, but extremely hyper and was not responding to our commands. We struggled alot with greeting as well. Cat had suggestions and tips to try that I had never seen in my research and our puppy responded to right away. She made such a difference with our puppy and she set us up for successfully training her on our own time as well. We have now been able to take our puppy out to restaurants and have her around younger kids, which we never could have done before training with Cat!

Our trainer Sharon Westervelt has been excellent at helping with our first-ever dog. We had no idea what we were doing when we brought home our sweet but excitable Golden Doodle puppy. We have been through virtual puppy class and are into our first virtual obedience class. The tips and tools are so effective in calming her down and keeping our family sane. Sharon has made herself available in between our trainings when we are struggling with our pup. Her advice works! We are so grateful to Wonder Dog and would highly recommend this training to any dog owner.

We researched trainers and were excited to have Sharon Westervelt come work with our new rescue dog. We have a Pyrenees/Lab mix. She is a large friendly dog, but wanted to make sure we could handle her and make sure she could become the best family dog she could be. Working with Sharon is amazing. She teaches us to communicate with Kai. Understanding the breed and knowing how best to train us and Kai.

The advancement has been incredible. Sharon centers on positive reinforcement and preparing Kai for all social situations. We couldn't have gotten a better rescue dog for our family. BACKGROUND: My 1 year old rescue Pom wasn't reactive when we first got him, but he became anxious when we would take him for walks at our neighborhood. He would bark at dogs far away and sometimes people. Although he knew commands, he would lose his mind when he saw other dogs. To avoid being a neighborhood nuisance and to prevent any confrontations with other dogs, I knew we had to do obedience training.

At first I tried to research and train him myself but became confused with the depth of different information. TRAINING: I decided to contact Wonder Dog Training because different techniques I had tried didn't seem to work. Melissa, our trainer, was like a knowledgeable friend. She is professional, confirms our sessions the day before, and is always prompt.

We always wore masks outside for safety. My Pom loved her and would pee in excitement every time he saw her. I liked her method of positive reinforcement, and she also encourages the human to also remain calm while training since the dog picks up on the human's tension. After our 6 week session, my Pom is more calm during walkies. He sometimes still barks if he hears other dogs barking, but he is able to be redirected much faster.

I am more calm myself when walking because I am more confident with the technique taught by Melissa. OVERALL: My Pom being more calm and easier to train is well worth the time and money spent. We are very happy with Melissa's training and highly recommend Wonder Dog Training for your doggo.

We selected Jen to personally train our 9 week old puppy. Our experience was excellent and yielded amazing results. As a busy family with two working parents and three kids.we wanted to set our new dog up for success. The two week in home puppy course was the perfect option for us. Our dog is now 8 months old and is 80 lbs of pure muscle-however obedient enough to walk with our kids by themselves. Jen uses a very kind and gentle approach, which we could all easily continue after his training program. Worth every penny!

I will start with, JENNA and WONDER DOG are AMAZING! Our Fur Child, Merlin, a 4 1/2 month old puppy, was just that, a puppy. He needed to be shown how to act around our young family. With Jenna's assistance, Merlin, has become an amazing listener. Her ability to teach us what works and what does not, with clear explanation, was unbelievable. We were blown away with how quick Meriln picked up the lessons. We are so happy with the outcome. Without a doubt, you have a client for life.
