Owner Martina concentrates on the individual needs of small dogs and bigger Seniors at THE KINDRED SPIRIT COTTAGE located on 1 fenced acre and shown in picture above. Our service starts at 8am with a daily adventurous 2 mile trail hike for active dogs Seniors go on a leashed neighborhood hike afterwards. Dogs are asked to come for a meet-n-greet and temperament assessment before they are accepted. OUR FOCUS IS ON THE INDIVIDUAL DOG we temperament test her/ him by introducing them to our own dogs in our inital interview.
Services
The Kindred Spirit Cottage is located on a fenced acre in SE Bend. It is an ideal environment for little dogs, Seniors and all medium dogs, who like to receive lots of TLC and go on walks every day! We are bonded&insured and have 15 years of experience. We offer overnights 24/7 plus daycare on Monday, Thursday and Friday.
8 am:OUR ADVENTURE HIKE! 5-6 of us pile into the cars and go to our secret trailhead, where we can jump over sagebrush. 10 am : We are back - and we are tired! Snooze time - while the poor humans clean house, pay bills and do all this other boring human stuff. 4 pm- 6pm : The day care dogs go home -we flirt with their parents and tell them about all the fun.
An overnight is 24 hours - if you bring your dog in the morning and pick him up the next morning, you receive the price quoted below. If you pick him up in the aftenoon or evening, there will be an add-on daycare fee of $30. All dogs are boarded inside my prIvate home in a comfortable living room that is cleaned daily.
As a small business we give preference to our many local and established customers. Unfortunately we cannot accomadate out-of - town visitors unless they plan to stay at least 4 overnights with us. Weekday stays are easier to book, while summer weekends and holidays often fill up weeks& months in advance. We keep a waitlist for these busy times.

My husband and I spent the month of October in Bend, and we feel so lucky to have found Kindred Spirit for our 10 month old pup, Bijou (Mini Bernedoodle, 25 lbs.). Bijou attended daycare 2-3 times a week, either a half or full day. Neal and Martina provide excellent care and stimulation with lots of walking in packs and off leash play. There is no doubt in my mind that the time Bijou spent at Kindred Spirit taught him socialization skills, such that he is much more accustomed to playing and running with other dogs. We are very happy to recommend Kindred Spirit to anyone looking for a doggie daycare.

I couldn't be happier with Kindred Spirit! I'm new to Bend and the first thing I did was to search for the perfect petsitter for my dogs. My dogs are my babies and they need a special type of caregiver: responsible, dog savvy, loving, reliable, safe, professional and active. I found it ALL (and then some) with Martina. I never worry about them while I'm gone. a bonus to her very special care is that she also takes them on hikes daily! My boys are in heaven when they go to Martina! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her!

Incredible place to take your dog for day care or boarding. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with. We have been taking our two dogs to Kindred Spirit Dog Care for almost 1 1/2 years. They have spent nights there while traveling and we feel at ease knowing our dogs are being cared for by a loving and caring staff. Desiree does an amazing job with our high energy German Shepherd mix. The dogs spend once a week there and they come home very happy and very tired. We are so lucky to have found Kindred Spirit Dog Care!

I have been bringing both of my dogs to Kindred Spirit for day care and for overnight boarding since they were puppies. My dogs LOVE it - they get so excited when we get there, and they are exhausted when they come home after a great day of hikes and play. And I love it because I know that they always have fun, and that the team knows them and cares about them.
I am so grateful to have a place where I can take my dogs for a day of play or to stay for a few days or a couple of weeks when we go out of town, and know that they will be well taken care of with people they know and in an environment where they are comfortable. Thank you, Kindred Spirit, for always taking such great care of our dogs!

We discovered Kindred Spirit Pet Care about 2 years ago when we first moved to Bend, OR. We have a young, energetic Australian Cattle Dog that loves to run, explore and socialize. Kindred Spirit provided for all of that. During our first visit, Desiree gave us a wonderful introduction and tour of the property. Located in a rural area, the dogs can run free and enjoy playtime.
The entire area is fenced and quite safe. Occasionally, they will take the dogs on walking tours. The staff is outstanding and quite dedicated to their work. They understand dog behavior and always make sound decisions pertaining to dog interactions, safety and temperament. We have utilized the day care services as well as long-term boarding. Our dog, Dolly, does well in either case.
We are especially pleased with how the staff takes the time to get to know each dog and treats them as their own. We have great peace of mind each time we board our dog at KSPC.

My 2 dogs, Roxy & Oscar, love going to Kindred Spirits. Quite frankly, it's the only place that I feel comfortable leaving them at. The dogs have several acres of fenced in yard to play in. They are even taken on hikes (which they are used to on a daily basis). When they spend the night they sleep on a pillow - not on the floor. There are no kennels or cages.
More than that, the employees are truly "dog people". You can tell by the way they interact with the dogs. They are not just there for the job. It's a unique and very well run facility. I am so happy to have them in our area.
