The DKC mission is to promote purebred dogs through responsible breeding practices; to provide educational opportunities for members and the community, encouraging responsible pet ownership; and to support and cooperate with organizations in the care and relief of stray dogs. To meet these goals, Dayton Kennel Club holds two all-breed shows a year, as well as a puppy match.
DKC provides breeder referrals to help connect prospective purebred puppy owners with responsible breeders. The club provides information on rescue organizations; spay/neuter issues, and other concerns about pet ownership.

This facility is a treasure to the greater Miami Valley. Staff are experienced, professional and so very helpful. I am thrilled with my 2 dogs getting basic obedience training because there are many options beyond that. Corkie gave me time and patience to help make choices. Puppy, junior, basic classes.scent training, agility, utility classes, and more. I want to join their 200+ member club and see how far we can go. They made me feel very welcome! Tickled pink this is near me.

I wasted a trip because the lady I spoke to on the phone ( I was told misinformed me) I was told to come to the drop in class after I had explained that my dog needed beginner classes for the show ring. When I arrived the lady said she did not have time to teach me that the class was for people who knew what they were doing, she waved her hand and said I could watch.
Despite her tone and rude way of speaking to me, I continued to wait around for someone who could help me with the right class, no one was to be found. Got on the website where I saw that forms could be found by the office. I took a form sat down with my dog and continued to watch the class hoping to be able to talk to the lady at the end. Toward the very end my dog barked at another dog and she told me she did not need "that" in there.
My dog isn't perfect. which is why I was hoping to get her in a class. Needless to say Dayton Dog Training Club completely wasted my time, misinformed me with what little information they did provide, and at least the lady I dealt with was completely rude and unprofessional. They seem very overwhelmed.
