Kettering Animal Hospital is a veterinary office in Kettering, Ohio serving cats and dogs. We make every visit pleasant from the moment you walk in the door until you take your pet home. Dr. Lewis B. Randall established the Kettering Animal Hospital on East Dorothy Lane, in 1959. Built right in the middle of a cornfield on a small two-lane highway, the practice originally catered to the needs of both small and large animal clients. In 1960, Dr. Charles D. Ackley joined the practice and eventually purchased it nine years later.
Proper diet and nutrition can help your pet fight against disease, maintain a proper weight, and promote the overall well-being of your pet. Annual wellness exams evaluate your pets overall health, detect problems before they become serious, and keep them on track to live a long, healthy life. An ultrasound is a highly useful tool when evaluating heart conditions, internal organs, cysts and tumors, and diagnosing pregnancy.
We are always accepting resumes from committed and compassionate veterinary professionals. If you are looking for a collaborative environment that nurtures and encourages growth, apply below! We are an equal opportunity employer that strives to create a welcoming environment for employees and patients alike.
Kettering Animal Hospital provides a Patient Portal for our clients to view upcoming appointments, subscribe to text messaging, upload pet pictures, and manage your pet's health schedules. We look forward to taking care of all your pets' needs.

Horrible staff that don't know what they are talking about, vets don't listen to concerns. I got my puppies vaccines here and once my puppy was displaying bloody diarrhea and throwing up, they told me it was coccidia and to treat for that. Ten days went by and the treatment worked but they didn't tell me when I needed to retest his stool.

After treatment my puppy started to vomit daily, I called them trice and they continued to put me on hold and never call me back or care about my concerns and told me that they don't test for parvo unless there are symptoms. Went to another vet and they confirmed in 10 minutes my dog had parvo.

I would steer clear until they change their operations back to normal. Their walk in hours are 0730-1200. I was told one day there was a 3 hour wait and to come back first thing another morning. So that's what I did. I was in the parking lot at 0730,c alled, and immediately placed on hold for 15-20 minutes, it finally rang through and I was placed back on hold, then sent to a voicemail box and hung up on.

Meanwhile multiple cars had come in the parking lot behind me. Fearful I would lose my place in line, I tried to pop my head in the office and explain what happened. They rudely motioned that I had to call back, and wouldn't even talk to me to find out what had happened.

Not only am I not allowed in the building at all I am not allowed to stand outside by the door. After waiting 30 minutes PAST the scheduled time (I'd actually been waiting longer as they request you get there early), I was told I cannot go inside with my dogs. When I asked how long it would take, I was told 30 min per dog just to get their vaccines and that it would depend how the dog acts.

I had to watch them literally drag my anxiety-riddled dog away with some shoddy leash made from cheap rope. I would add zero stars if I could and I just made an appointment with another vet clinic for my other dog's vaccine.

Very caring and had my westie's best intress at heart. We lost the our beloved westie and everyone was so caring and humble. In my opinion the did everything possible. Will always be our vet clinic.

We could not have had a better experience than we did at Kettering Animal Hospital working with Dr. Beck and her amazing tech! This was our 8 month old rescue puppy's first visit with this specific vet and we were just so pleased with the thoroughness and thoughtfulness that went into his care. They took necessary COVID-19 precautions but still operated efficiently and took the time to answer all of the questions we had as nervous first-time dog parents! So glad that we established care at this veterinarian!

Dr. Steins has been treating our animals for years now and she has been nothing but caring and thorough with all of our animals. I highly recommend her.

Still don't know why they are able to stay open!

I called this morning to get a price information about a ligament surgery. First I was on hold for 10 minutes, then someone picks up the line saying: "Would you mind if I place you on hold?" I responded that I was already on hold for 10 minutes. "Well- WE are busy" is the answer I get. Bam! Here I am again on hold for another 5 minutes. When I finally got to talk to someone and asked for a price of a surgery I was told that no price can given over the phone.

I would have to come in and have the dog examined. I told the staff member that my dog was diagnosed and I have X-rays. She said again that no prices are given over the phone and that I would have to come in for an evaluation. I know for sure that every vet has a price list for their services. I didn't ask for an exact amount just a ballpark figure since I am price shopping.

I called different veterinarian offices and found a vet who was much friendlier with decent prices. Based on the first experience I had, and the rudeness of their staff, I would not spend a penny there.

I've been to this vet clinic a couple times in the last year. It's great that they have walk in appointments! When I brought my dog in, we saw Dr. Beck, and she was great. He had a lot of health issues and had been to several vets from different states over the past few years. She called all the vets to get his past reports to better understand what was going on, and genuinely seemed to make his case a priority even though there were other walk in appointments waiting. Unfortunately, as hopeful as she was at first, his condition declined fast, and I had to put him down later that week.

When I brought him in, the tech/receptionist seemed very sympathetic and got me in to a room within minutes. Dr. Beck had a caring, natural bedside manner that made it much easier than I was expecting. She was even able to get a laugh or two out of me as we talked about some memories and what life could be at the rainbow bridge. I would definitely recommend this clinic as the staff is very compassionate, even in the worst moments.

First time visit to the office and they were great with my dog. It was easy to set up an appointment and they had all of her records sent over when we arrived. We went in for routine checkup and vaccinations and we didn't have to wait long to be seen. The facility was clean and the staff was friendly. The vet was great with my pup and the dog really liked her up until the point she was given her shots.

The dog wanted to dock them one star because of the shots but it's not the vet's fault she doesn't like needles. The dog also wanted me to dock them one star because they only sell healthy dog food and they don't sell peanut butter filled cow hooves but since the vet gave her a bunch of treats she decided they really do deserve 5 stars!

I highly recommend this animal hospital! Here's my experience with Kettering: I'm in town for the holidays, and needed an urgent chest X-ray for my dog to rule out pneumonia. He was diagnosed earlier this year with myasthenia gravis and megaeasophagus, and is prone to aspiration. He's had pneumonia twice this year already, so this is a big deal to me.

We started off at another vet clinic, whose customer service and practices were appalling, so we ended up here at Kettering Animal Hospital. What a difference it made to give this clinic a try! They have walk-in appointments in the morning, so my dog was able to receive last-minute care, the day before Thanksgiving no less! The vet tech and vet (Thomas and Dr. Spinks) both understood that my dog needs slow introductions with strangers, and they had him performing his tricks for treats and giving kisses in no time.

My dog received the urgent care he needed, and more importantly, they treated him like their own pet and made him feel welcome, relaxed, and loved. I cannot thank Kettering enough for their wonderful service today!

Few months ago our ferret got the flu so we brought her to this pet hospital. The receptionists were all nice and extremely welcoming, the vet was professional and nice as well. The vet checked her fever, examined and weighted her. Nothing out of the ordinary but it costed me $90! Which seemed a bit too much. That aside, I have to admit that I liked the vets decision do not rush and give my ferret antibiotics but wait and see how she feels. Also, the vet recommended a kids coughing syrop for my ferret's throat.

Within a week, our ferret got back to herself all happy and joyful. Yesterday, I stopped by to get some advantage for our ferret and new kitten. I dealt directly with Heather, who is the nicest, most brightest and sharpest receptionist I ever talked to! Why I am so happy with Heather: - She went to double check which kind of Advantage I should use on my ferret. - She informed me that it should be applied not less than 24 hours before or after their bath.

Previously I used to apply it right after I wash the pets. Thank you Heather for letting me know! - Also, she recommended to apply the advantage as high as possible on cats neck as oppose to other animals and squeeze it as close to the skin as possible. Thank you again for being so awesome!
