Started out great. However, the last couple visits/calls have been a nightmare. They diagnosed my kitty with kidney disease and, when she started declining fast, told me they could not get us in for a week and a half. I understand a day or 2 but having no emergency time available for that long for a pet that is suffering is very disappointing. Beyond that, there were numerous occasions that they ran extra blood work/tests without my consent until I got the bill and questioned it.
When I would ask questions about what certain metrics meant, they would explain them very complexly (I would ask "what does that mean" or say "I'm not quite following) - they were unable to simplify it to someone who has no form of biology/vet knowledge. Their policies were inconsistent and frustrating as well. I wish the service had stayed up to par with where it started.

We wanted to get out of the nationwide, big company vet network. We looked locally, and this clinic was right down the street from us. They were quick to get my cat in and communicated very clearly. They provided lots of information and advice on her kidney failure, but they didn't force us into anything. They always let us know that we were the owners and the ones making the decisions.
There was no guilt on their part to spend a lot of money, although they provided us with all the options available. They also called a couple days later to ask how her antibiotics were working. I enjoy supporting a small, local business. Glad we tried them!

I do NOT recommend this vet clinic. Especially not for oral surgery. Please do not let these 5 star "reviews" fool you like they did me. Being new to the state I trusted the reviews and brought my 15yr old 3.5lbs chihuahua here. Who before this has been completely healthy and normal, especially at his age aside from having bad teeth. - From May of this year (2021) till Dec 1, I have spent close to 5k here. -They preformed oral surgery on my dog, who is STILL having health COMPLICATIONS from it even after a full MONTH.
It has severely compromised his quality of life, and I can't help but blame myself for taking him here. -They also removed ALL his teeth even after I TOLD their vet tech (big heavy set Caucasian lady named Talisha) at drop off that I did NOT want all his teeth out. - did NOT do a good job at monitoring my dog while he was in their care, which resulted in him scratching his nose up raw and bloody out of being left alone for quite some time.
I offered to pick him up right after surgery, to which the vet said that they'd like to keep him for monitoring (&of course they charge you for monitoring). - Completely tore my 3lbs dogs nail right side up, resulting in his quick being turned completely upward. They did NOT have enough common decency to remove this while he was already under anesthesia, but instead left it in tact adding more unnecessary pain to my dog who was already suffering. - I went in two times after the surgery because my dogs health was declining.
He couldn't eat or drink and developed a hacking/gagging reflex post op, along with a nasal drip. All of things he has never had in his 15yrs of life, even after have a few other dentals done (back home with his original vet). -The heavy set Caucasian vet tech Talisha also spoke in a very rude and condescending tone with me, while I was trying to advocate for my dog.
The vet also seemed annoyed with all my questions and just kept saying the hacking was due to all the stitches in my dogs mouth. We are a month out and these injuries are still present. Please look into a specialist for any oral surgeries and do not go here. I have regretted taking my dog here, and allowing these things to happen. He is such a good dog and did not deserve this.
I will add in pictures of my dog right before going in, and then pictures of the horrible state he was in when I picked him up (after wiping the blood off his nose and mouth area).

Dr. Jason & his team are incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and kind. They do an excellent job explaining issues and routes for treatment. I have not felt pressured to go any specific direction with the care of my pets - which is something I really appreciate. These folks really take a person-centered approach and care about the experience they create for their customers (both pet and owners). We finally found our "forever-vet." Thanks, Rice Pet Clinic & Hospital!

My puppy doggy, Ezra, and I had a very positive trip to the vet today (surprising!). From making an appointment, which was given the very next day, and the skillful and friendly techs, to the knowledgeable doctor, we were consistently treated with kindness. I appreciate you all at Rice Pet Clinic! Thank you for doing your job with compassion. I highly recommend this veterinarian.

I've had nothing but great experiences at Rice Pet Clinic. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Every doctor we've seen takes time to thoroughly explain everything in a way that I understand and answer all my questions. They always are sure that my Pet and I are comfortable and feeling safe. They do a wonderful job at breaking down the costs of everything before all procedures and are never pushy or make you feel pressured.
They are also very accommodating and have squeezed me in last minute when my pets have had injuries. I really love Rice Pet Clinic and highly recommended them to all pet owners!

This is hands-down one of the best clinics I have ever been to. I made an appointment for a couple days out, but I ended up calling next day to see if they happened to have any openings. They fit us in same- day, and the receptionists were so kind. At the appointment, our vet tech, Paige, was so sweet and showered my poodle, Olive, with attention.
She was so professional and personable. Dr. Jason is absolutely phenomenal. He explains everything so well and made sure to explore every possible avenue for what was causing Olive's symptoms. The entire staff was just so incredible & the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be back!

My first trip to the Rice Pet Clinic. We came to put down our aging, decrepit, beloved dog Dawson. I brought him here because Dr. Nordaune had been out vet at our former clinic. Dr. Nordaune's bedside manner with Dawson and soothing demeanor helped make this horrible day manageable. Dr. Nordaune reassured me that the time was right to make this difficult decision. It is so nice to be reminded you are doing the right thing for your pet. I will bring my future pets to this clinic because of Dr. Nordaune.

Staff was good but I was not content with the veterinarians. I brought my pup in for routine shots. They determined she needed a tooth pulled and had to put her under. They ended up just polishing her tooth. When I went back in a few months later for different shots, they said they recommended that I have her tooth pulled. Another round of anesthesia and another inflated invoice. Done with this place.

I have been going to Rice Pet Clinic since April 1978. That is the month and year I moved to Roseville. They have always been very good to work with and they try their best to educate what they are doing or advising what has to be done. I have had at least 16 hunting dogs and 3 house dogs treated by Rice Pet Clinic. I would not think of going and place other than U of M if directed by Rice Pet Clinic.

Had my dogs groomed yesterday. They were really in need for spring. I'm always happy with the way they turn out and don't have to worry about the nicks that have happened at other places. Vet services are the best too. Have been taking my dogs there for around 25 years and have always been happy with their care.

I was referred to this clinic about 8-9 years ago from a colleague at the U of M Veterinary School. I've nearly always worked with Dr. Tim and him and his staff are just amazing with both my cats. Our big male tabby had some seriously urinary crystal issues (blockage, near death) and they took care of him so well and the costs were reasonable.
I could tell they generally cared about him and it was low pressure, too. Dr. Tim is great (as I'm sure the others are) and I never feel pressured when I take the kitties to the vet. It's a positive experience every time, I know they are looking our for the kitties and us. I hate leaving St. Paul for services yet I continue to bring these guys down to Roseville as it's worth it.

You can't find more thoughtful caregivers for dogs than what you will find at Rice Pet Clinic. Dr. Julie and Dr. Tim are so thorough, kind, and professional with both the pet and the owner. The prices are reasonable and the reception staff and associate caregivers are really great! I was disappointed when they closed the Roseville office down nearly two or three years ago - but with the care my girls (Yokrshire and poodle mix) get at Rice Pet Clinic I would travel across country to have them provide the service to my little buddies. Cheers! B. Davis

I took my cat to Rice Pet Clinic mainly because it was the vet closest to my apartment, but I decided to go back and even recommend them to my friends because of the exceptional service I received. The staff were so attentive to my little kitten and helped calm him down. I love that they take the cats back as they do shots and such so you aren't forced to watch that, personally I don't want my cat looking at my as they do that, I feel terrible.
They explain everything very nicely and treat your animal like a king or queen. They truly make you feel at ease when you get there, both my best friend and sister have since then taken their cats there and felt the same. My sister has had nothing but praise to say as she's been dealing with her cat's urinary problems which they uncovered were stones on his bladder. They took the time and took the routes to get to the bottom problem before exploring the more expensive options.

Prior to today, I had been here for Teddi's annual exam and shots and I really felt comfortable with the Vet and the techs. I was referred here initially by my neighbors who had a pair of Yorke's who had spoken highly of this clinic. Yesterday, I had sprayed some bug spray, which was not dog friendly, and sometime during the night, Teddi must have licked the windows which had the highly poisonous spray because we awoke during the night with him throwing up with Diarrhea. Naturally, I panicked but thankfully this Clinic opens at 7:30 AM so I waited in the parking lot until they opened.
They welcomed us with open arms and immediately I felt so much better! Similar to when you take your kid to the ER and just being there, makes you feel relieved. They immediately called the Doctor at home, discussed what had happened, and we waited for his arrival. In the meantime, all the vet techs were so sweet and took such good care of Teddi, washing his paws, his mouth, and reassuring me that he would be fine.
I had been up most the night, had little sleep so I was pretty much a wreck. Doctor Krienke gave Teddi an exam with tender care and determined the best course of treatment. Luckily Teddi didn't ingest too much poison so the treatment was pretty minimal. The service is top notch here and the prices reasonable. I am happy to say our little Teddi is back to his normal, mischievous, self tonight and I am looking forward to a restful sleep knowing he is OK.
