Alphonse Grooming

My Harley has anxiety issues and Alfonso was great with him! This is really the first time he has been groomed. The first Grooming business said he was too high strung and they could not groom him! The picture on the left is before and right is after groomed! Alfonso did a GREAT JOB!

Been taking my senior dog here since she was 4 and have never had a problem with them until yesterday. They cut one of my dogs nails way too short and failed to tell us? Lost a lot of blood and led to him having a seizure, no one is our house has slept. The haircuts weren't good either. Left one side of my dogs face uncut. Will hopefully be looking for a caring groomer for the future.

I took my puppies (Khloe & Kylie) their first time here, and the lady was very professional, and she made sure to ask me what I wanted. The lady did a great job with my girls, and they walked out looking ready for a photoshoot. Also, the lady told me the puppies were jumpy as she tried to clip their nail, and she asked me if I wanted to hold them, and I did, and she got the job done.

Keep in mind I asked Petco many times to do that they refused because of Corporate BS policy. This place is one of the cheapest dog grooming places around ST. PETE and the staffs are pleasant and friendly

The cuts are quality, the staff is friendly, and the dogs always come out happy. Love this joint

I took my Golden here a few months ago when our usual groomer was closed for a few days. I only wanted a bath & to trim the fur between the paws. When I picked him up they shaved my dogs chest & pretty hair by his butt. My poor boy was so embarrassed. The man working in the front room was nice but he clearly didn't listen. I had even texted my needs when setting up the appointment. So not sure scary happened. Disappointing!

I've taken my Aussie here a few times and she always comes home looking and smelling great! I love Eva, she's very professional and makes sure you're getting what you want and that your dog is comfortable. Thanks Eva!

I have been going Here for 20+yrs. I think they are One of the cheapest dog grooming places around. But staff is always nice and friendly and I've never had too many complaints.

Our Maltese has been going to Alphonse for 3 1/2 years. We appreciate that our dog doesn't refuse when we drop him off, so he's being treated well. The grooming cuts are iffy. Sometimes ok and sometimes not ok. Last time they shaved his belly but not fully. They left patches on his stomach. They don't do very well around his eyes probably because they're afraid of poking his eye. We keep going back because they price is so reasonable and the people are friendly. We tried others and the result is the same for $15-$20 more money.

I am not the one to write bad reviews but this place pissed me off the the last time. Took my soft coated wheaton terrier there and was just upset about the whole thing. First, when I came in to pick up my pup, the big guy (not sure his name) picked him up and just dropped him down unevenly. Don't care if dogs can land on their feet naturally but it was not professional. Second, he went on to kinda blame me for not brushing my pup properly.

I do brush him and probably not how I'm supposed to which I take full blame but his manner on telling me was piss poor and rude. Third, he charged me $60 when last time they charged me was $40. I asked him why and he said it took longer to brush his hair which doesn't make any sense cause they cut it all off anyways. He also said he was a lot bigger than last time which is not true.

Probably 5-8lbs bigger which you can't tell. Lastly, they shaved his belly but not fully. They left patches on his stomach. I feel like they do wherever they feel like that day and people just believe it and go with it. The second time I took my pup there I wanted them to cut a tiny bit off but they ended up cutting so much more and told me that's what I thought I wanted.

The lady was real nice but the big guy who does the cutting is unprofessional and has no communicating skills at all. Every dog is different and will need different things so your experience might be different but I will definitely not ever take my pup there again.

I took my 11 pound Pekinsu to be groomed. I have been here before and had a problem before. He was shaved so raw underneath he was super red with bumps. They also must have shaved him between his eyes and he was red there also. His haircut was very uneven. So unhappy. I called them and left message and they never called me back. I called again and spoke to a man who answered the phone. He didn't seem to care about anything I said to him. I told him I will not be coming back. Terrible customer service.

If you care about your dog, don't take them here. I took my dog Hopper there about a week and a half ago. We usually go somewhere else (One Lucky Dog) but I've been kinda overwhelmed and needed to have him trimmed on short notice so Alphonse Grooming was the only place in the city with immediate availability (first red flag). When I brought him I found out the price, only $30, another really big red flag.

When I dropped Hop off though I told the lady that I would gladly pay a little extra or leave a nice tip if they took extra special care of him. The lady said they had one price but would appreciate the tip and said they would be very good to him. When I picked Hop up, I thought he looked alright. Not as nice as where we usually go, but for $30 it was alright.

I added a nice (more than 50%) tip, thanked the lady and went home. When I got home I realized they had badly cut his stomach. He had a large scab. No one mentioned this to me. Over the next week, there were several instances where Hopper would just start yelping seemingly out of nowhere. My husband and I couldn't figure it out. We couldn't find any other marks on his body or face, we checked his teeth, his paws, etc.

Just a couple days ago, my husband very thoroughly checked him again and realized one of his nails was broken very badly, exposing the nerve. It is very sensitive and it's clear that it was what was causing him so much pain. He hasn't been able to jump off our bed or anything since. He'll be alright of course. He's a tough boy!

But I'm really upset that they didn't mention anything to me and am worried about how they treated him there, and why he was injured twice. He has always been a good dog and not a problem to groom (according to every other place we've ever taken him), and he's never been injured by any other groomer. We learned our lesson and won't ever take him anywhere so cheap again. But we wanted to warn everyone to stay away from Alphonse Grooming.

If you love your pet DO NOT go to this groomer. Picked up my puppy & immediately knew something was wrong. Took her to the vet & was told she had a scratch in her cornea. She will be ok with meds. Accidents happen but they made no attempt to tell me anything. Plus the cut was atrocious. My 5 year old niece could have done a better job.

Overall very satisfied with the services provided. I'm able to get my pups in for their grooming with just 1 days notice. One time my female Yorkie had a small, superficial cut near her private parts after her grooming but I suspect this happens from time to time. Otherwise the pups look wonderful, clean, and well cared for after returning home.

My Family and I have been going to Alphonse Grooming since we moved to Florida in the eighties. We have always receive good service and enjoyed the staff. Our dogs come out after a day of grooming looking like a million bucks. Can't say anything bad about the place because we always have great experiences. This is why we continue to come back. Great prices, staff and cut!

I have been taking our dog, here for almost 2 years. They have great prices but I have noticed more and more inconsistency. I have not been very happy how they been grooming my dog lately. First i always ask for a puppy cut, short on the ears and tail round face. They have been leaving it long and square on the face. 2nd It only happened once but i noticed bruising or scrapped skin. Most of all i have not been happy with the way they groom my dogs hair. Updated my review.

They traumatized my mother dog! We'll never take her to that chop shop! Do yourself s favor and go elsewhere! IMAG0447.jpg
