Tomay brings a highly successful training methodology that has produced several independently successful groomers within the past many years and has a well-established track record for managing successful and positive grooming shops with a very strong emphasis on customer service. Kate wears many hats!
After moving south we tried numerous groomers and without fail they all left us very dissatisfied. We now gladly make the drive up to Groomingdales because their service, attention to detail and care is top notch! I was so happy to see that Allie the groomer followed my instructions to a T, loved on my pup and took great care of him while he was there.
Most pets don't have a problem staying most of the day, as we offer a virtually cage free environment in a more relaxed atmosphere. However, we will be happy to help you with scheduling for an early pickup. Just let us know when you call in for your appointment that you will need a specific pick up time.
Bathing your pet at home can be a real chore without the proper equipment, product and know how! Following are a few tips to help you successfully bathe your pet at home with minimal frustration and disappointment. Always bathe in lukewarm to cool water. Using hot or very warm water can serve to open up oil glands in the dogs skin, producing an oilier coat, which in turn collects dirt and dust faster. If you are using a specialty, prescription or medicated shampoo, please follow the manufacturers directions.
The reason he's still matted even after you brush him daily, is because the brush itself is the wrong kind for his coat, or because you haven't been able to get to his skin to effectively remove dead coat, undercoat and/or tangles. If you can't get a comb through from the skin straight out, with no resistance, then you have a matted pet to some degree.

Walked in for the first time to get our dog a nail trimming. It was quick and you can tell they are animal lovers; they are really nice people. I truthfully felt ashamed for letting my dog'a nails get long and the lady who helped us told us the dangers of it. We did try trimming her nails on our own but our dog wouldnt allow us. We also really wanted to get only a nail trimming done before committing to a whole grooming package to see how our baby does since we have never brought her in the groomer, last place we tried didnt accept her saying our dog was too nervous, they couldnt work with her.
The woman who had helped us at Groomingdale said our dog was really good. Groomingdale is a place that accepts walk-ins for nail trimmings they have quick "ala-carte" services that you can add on to the nail trimming. The walk-in day and time worked with our schedule, prices were online, reviews were great so we gave this place a shot. After our first visit, they left a good impression with us so we decided to book our dog for a grooming session.
Its a cute place but pretty tiny and parking is a bit tight, I wish I can do 4.5! No one seems to answer phone-calls but my questions were answered by going on their website.

Will always be grateful for Groomingdale's of Austin for taking care of our little Lexi for almost 10 years. We moved to the area when she was around 6 and never looked back when we found them. (My little girl lived a very long happy 16 years) They loved her as much as we did (she was there every month) and Donna was such an angel to her. When I forgot to cancel her appt and had to tell them why we had to cancel even the receptionist almost cried with me. Can't recommend this place enough.
When my husband was deathly ill I didn't take her in for a few months (just forgot when keeping my head above water) and I cried when Donna told me about her matting and other issues. but this sweet woman comforted me and told me she would take care of it and to not feel guilty. This place was more than just a groomer, they truly love the animals they see and they'll always have a special place in my heart.
One of the main things I loved is the dogs are not crated. You leave the least and Lexi was always sitting on a little bed in the main area just waiting. Lexi passed away July 2021 and I'm just now able to write a review. I'm sorry I never did it sooner. Trust me, you want to try this place. I think Donna has retired, but we've had other groomers there tend to Lexi over the years and she was beautiful every time. We will miss this place so much but know we didn't leave by choice.

Love love love this place. I took a break from them and went elsewhere for a bit due to me always forgetting to schedule a couple of months in advance and then not being able to get an appointment when I wanted one (completely on me) and I was always disappointed by other places. So I came back and now I just make sure to schedule my dog's next appointment when I pick her up from the latest one.

My pup Rio is a 2 yo Toy Australian Shepherd On our first visit he was given a shorter cut than I was used to but it was adorable! He was a movie star at the airport when we traveled! So many ppl asked about him (but he tends to get a lot of love and attention anywhere we go! But especially after his cut). They also give side nail trims that are far more reasonably priced than closer into town groomers. You can drop in for the trim but check days and times. Definitely will go back!

I went into this place for the first time. I pulled in the parking lot. It was a tight space for the big truck I drive. The only space wide enough was very close to the front. I pulled into to park and there was a guy in the grass with his 2 dogs, so I didn't pull all the way up. He gave me a funny look. I got out, proceeded into the building. He rushed to get in front of me.
While inside, he snapped at me rudely, accusing me of pushing him out of the way when I parked. He said "I should have found another spot to park". I just took it as if he were having a bad morning. As he left, I mentioned to the lady that I believe to be the owner " he must be having a bad morning" At my surprise, she said "he is right, you could have parked somewhere else, he's a regular and a really nice guy" Anyway, I brushed it off, but found it to be rude. I went to pick up my dog later in the afternoon, and she looked beautifully groomed. I was happy with how everything turned out.

They do a fine job grooming. Staff is kind and nice to talk to. I'll be finding another groomer because in the two times I've been to Groomingdale's during this pandemic, no one wears a mask. Not the groomers (which to me might make sense, they are doing heavy work), or more importantly the front desk. The check in area is small and compact, I wish that at least those at the counter would checkin/checkout customers with a mask.
I caught covid recently, and groomingdale's was the only place I had been with 5 days of symptoms arising. I get when we're stage 2, being flexible with masks. But we are Stage 5 and to me this shows blatant disregard for customers safety or an ill-placed political statement. Or both.

This was the first time ever my 9m puppy getting a hair cut and you can imagine how nervous both of us was not to mention my puppy is Covid baby so she gets very intimidated round people! But they make it a great experience! The place was so quiet and they were very patient answering all my questions. The result was amazing. My puppy went home very happy with cute goody bag.

We have been taking our three dogs here for several years and we love it! Two of our dogs can be a bit difficult when it comes to grooming and nail trimming but the staff here are total pros and our dogs get very excited for their "spa days" every few weeks. Highly recommend this place to all my friends with pets.

We can't support the anti-masker attitude here. Sign reads "As we all know, the mayor has ordered masks be worn in buildings. However, if you cannot wear a mask due to medical or health reasons, as per HIPPA [sic], ADA as well as privacy laws, we cannot ask or insist on compliance" Additionally, a sign inside said groomer's cannot wear masks because (1) they are a health risk due to lack of oxygen intake and (2) dogs have to see their facial expressions for communication. We were regular nail trim clients, but once these signs went up we switched.

Friendly, TALENTED, thoughtful, organized and do an AMAZING job. I have been going to Petco for years (17?). It has been so refreshing to deal with the staff and their booking/reminder procedures. I read the review claiming that they are "anti-masker" and wish I could leave a "10" (Do u understand what a "1" will do to a rating?) Not only is it overkill and mean. It's simply, UNTRUE The signage outside is for people who have an emotional (ie claustrophobia) or medical (people on oxygen) reason for not wearing a mask.that other arrangements could be made.
And after the mask mandate lifted, they were nice enough to EXPLAIN why it's dangerous to work with dogs with half of face covered even though they are well within their legal right to handle their business however they see fit. IZERO to do with the quality of their work. Looks like the reviewer need to get a hobby.

Was actually taken aback by the Covid reviews. I was recommended here by a friend and probably wouldn't have showed up if I saw this first but alas I am posting about my experience which was positive. Everyone had masks on at drop off and pick up and I didn't see the signs pictured below. I'd imagine they at some point realized being anti maskers was just not going to get anyone to bring their animals to them.
But to my experience very friendly service and thoughtful/ reassuring. I brought my giant fluff ball in for her first grooming and was nervous about leaving her in a new place "would she get to goto the bathroom, would she be scared, etc" when I went to get her not only did she look amazing she was just sleeping on the floor waiting for me. Completely relaxed and happy when I took her home. I'd trust them with your dog.

I have read some of these reviews on here. Every time I go in there the staff has a mask on and go by the CDC guidelines. The owner keeps up some great information on Covid. I didn't see or read anything about death totals or anything of the sort. I am very happy with my groomer. She is always very polite and wears a mask when I see her. Groomingdale's is a wonderful and SAFE place to take your fluffy family member.
I trust them and appreciate the fact that they do wear masks to protect the community. Thank you Groomingdale's for being so up to code and AMAZING! Special shout out to the groomer (Kate). She's amazing at what she does! She always takes wonderful care of my furry baby. Thank you to all staff! Some people just get off on writing bad reviews, and look for things to gripe about. ABSOLUTELY recommend this place!

Such a bummer. they are anti-maskers. Multiple flyers posted inside and outside the building stating that the mayor's ordinance to wear masks is a "rule" not a "law", and states that the groomers will not be wearing masks. It also claims that wearing a mask can make inhaling oxygen difficult. This has been scientifically debunked. It may make you hot, but you're getting all the oxygen you need. As someone who works with Covid patients, and has watched many die, I cannot risk bringing my dogs here, and I will no longer support them.

I was a little nervous about Groomingdale's mask policy during COVID after reading some recent reviews. However, all customers and staff wore masks and maintained social distancing. My puppy was welcomed by friendly staff and was clean, fluffy, adorable, and exhausted after playing all day with dog friends.

Huge signs saying they won't ask you to wear a mask if you aren't wearing one, passive aggressive signage about the mayor's "orders (not laws)", and signs saying they don't wear masks with pets because masks impair oxygen intake. Are you kidding me? First and last time giving my money to a business that doesn't believe in basic public health measures.

Like at least one other post, I am sad to write this, but in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, I was astonished to discover that Groomingdales not only doesn't practice the guidelines, items on their bulletin board actively discourage use of the mask and downplay the seriousness of this disease. I have been going to Groomingdales ever since Tomay opened it 20 years ago and have always valued the quality of care that my cats have received. However, since they have decided to believe the incorrect information about mask use and don't think that it is important to follow the city requirements, I will no longer use this business.

Really sucks writing this since I've been coming here for a few years, but they've decided to take a stand against.public safety? Not only are employees not wearing masks in close quarters, but large signage encourages customers not to wear them either. The bulletin board looks like it was curated by Fox News. I don't care about your politics, but don't put your workers, customers and your community at risk. The numbers are low in Austin because we've been taking the measures we have, not because the danger is no longer there.

I've had my long haired kitty shaved a few times here, and they've never done anything but the best for him. I walk in with him in his carrier and almost all the employees came out to coo and talk about how pretty he was. Although he isn't a fan of the wet bath that they provide with the grooming, they always make sure to at least attempt for me! and then go in with the dry bath instead. Absolutely never had an issue with anyone, and they've always been prompt with follow up on appointments. thank you groomingdale's!

My pup has had bad experiences with grooming before and we recently visited Groomingdales based on a friend's suggestion. I was so happy to see that Allie the groomer followed my instructions to a T, loved on my pup and took great care of him while he was there. I loved that when I picked him up at the end of the day, he was lounging out in the open in a pet bed instead of crying in a kennel like I had seen at other groomers. He was happy, clean and handsome and we will return. :

I brought my two dogs there for a flea bath with and some extras like trimming the pads of their paws. It was around $60 total which is a good price. The only thing I wasn't anticipating was it taking all day. You drop your dog off in the morning and they won't be ready until around 5. But the service was good for the price. I'll definitely go back.

I usually take my Maltese Yorkie to petsmart because they always have openings but they do a crappy job so I came here. We were surprised it was only $35 for how great he looked afterwards! Only reason it didn't get five stars is because we have since then tried to schedule weekly appointments but they haven't answered any of our calls our emailed us back on the contact forum from their website.

LOVE! If my dog could write a review he would give it 5 stars too. We used to go to Petsmart because it was so close to us (I know, I know bad parenting moment). I was a little nervous about bringing my dog here, he's now been here 2 times, because my dog used to loathe hair cuts but he's a yorkie mix so he needs it. They're so good at making both you and your dog feel comfortable, and they know exactly the style your dog needs! He gets so many compliments on his hair style. Wish I had brought him in sooner! Thanks Groomingdales for offering such a good service!
