I've been a very loyal member, patching holes in fences with zip ties and bungee cords for 4 years now. Overlooking gates being left open for mowing because my dog absolutely loves this park. But I will never go back! The owner and I got in a disagreement about a misleading coupon I received in the mail. And the disagreement could have been smoothed out with some time, but the owner threatened to post my personal information.
I mentioned that I would post this situation on social media and she retaliated with threatening to dox me so angry members could call and harass me. Because she's no longer going to send out special offers.

It's a huge dog park that is a lot of fun for dogs of all sizes. Everyone who brings their dogs is super friendly and so far all dogs have been friendly as well. You would think for the amount of money per dog or visit. That the park would be kept up a little more. Especially the seating options. The lake is a great swim area and there is a hiking area as well. There are also washing stations here for when your dog gets a little too dirty like ours.

This was my (and 2 of my dogs) first time at a dog park. They loved it and I loved watching them have a good time. One of my dogs is an escape artist, so I'm always very watchful of him and fences- this was great for him. There are 2 gates that lead in/ out of the fenced in area. The areas that might have a slight gap in the fence had additional fencing. I would most definitely bring them back here again if we're ever in the area again.

My pups love coming here because they can swim but the glass and trash on the trails is concerning. We've been coming to this dog park for about two years now and the trash and glass have always been an issue. It's disappointing that after all this time I haven't seen any of it picked up and the safety risks remain. We will be going to Poochies Park from now on.

As a new resident I am ecstatic to find this massive dog park for my high energy German Shepherd. She had a great time running, swimming and playing with the other dogs. The hiking trails are great for dogs and humans alike. The $11 one time fee is a great value for everything offered. I will be back and most likely be getting the annual pass.

I used to love coming here with my dog but the last few times have been rough. The water is covered in dog hair and the property is full of trash and glass on the trails. For the money we all spend they should use it to maintain the property better. I see from past reviews that the glass has been an issue for a while so I have a feeling none of that will be resolved. Shame because there aren't many dog parks in my area.

I visited this park several times when in Jacksonville. The first time, about 4 years ago, was an incredible experience. The last 2 times (2-3 yrs. ago) were major disappointments. The park was unkept with poop everywhere, the driveway was a series of car wrecking potholes & the front desk attitude was a turnoff. Also, attended a large meetup & the place was filthy & unprepared for the scheduled event(which will not be held there again).

Amazing dog park! If you're anywhere nearby it's worth visiting! If you live here get a membership! This dog park goes above and beyond all others. it's got 42 acres fenced in.with 10 acres of walking trails and a dog lake and a night time section that stays lit up til 10pm. in addition to a section for just small dogs. 10/10 I definitely recommend

Our pride and joy, Tazz, passed away unexpectedly in the night one year ago due to a really painful flesh eating bacterial infection. This could have been caught by our vet at the time but unfortunately he did not examine him properly and now we have to spend forever without him. We decided to honor his memory by dropping off baskets filled with all of the things he loves for the other dogs that come to Dog Wood to enjoy!
Our two puppies, Pretzel and Meatball, both really enjoyed the park and even played with all of the other dogs in the water. It was a great time had by all and we will definitely be back! In loving memory of our boy Tazz

This dog park is my favorite place in Jacksonville. My dog adores running in the wooded trails, sniffing, wading into the pond and meeting new friends. I found this place on google over a year ago & immediately purchased a membership. I love the easy access key fob and huge open spaces for exploring. Couldn't have asked for a better spot for my doggo to spend energy!

My daughter, her boyfriend and I took their dog, Jonah to Dogwood Park today. We were greeted by 2 wonderful ladies. They asked if we had ever been there before and I explained that we were bringing Jonah there because he was going to doggy heaven on Monday. Jonah was diagnosed with lymphoma carcinoma and was only given a week at most. These sweet ladies not only let us in for free but also gave Jonah a free ice cream.
He seemed so carefree trotting on the trails. Even though it was pretty cold we let him walk around and explore as much as he wanted to. I just want to thank the 2 ladies that were working today for allowing Jonah to have some fun playtime.

I have been going to this park for years. My dogs and I love coming here. The set up is perfect. You can walk wooded trails and you can go to the open fields with a pond. There is so much space for the dogs to run free. My dogs are done for the day after this. Theres just one thing that it's stopping it from being a 5 stars. They require for pets to be vaccinated and male dogs over 1 year to be fixed.
However when you get there they are not checking for this or even looking at the dog. One would think ohh it's not a big deal until there is a dog fight. Which is what happened last time I was there. A male dog who looked way older than a 1 year was intact and showing aggressive behavior. I immediately left the area because I knew something would happen. Surly enough 10 min later this intact dog attacks another dog in the midst of 10 plus other dogs. It was very scary and I felt this could of been prevented. It would just be a little more safe if they did check.

$11 entry for one dog, plus $1.25 for a second. The pond is fantastic with a fountain, but the trails are COVERED in broken glass and run down. Looks like hogs wallow in them. We were attacked by a very aggressive dog with an owner who refused to control it or leave. We heard the dog attack two more times a d told the manager who was very, very friendly.
The small dog areas seem pleasant and shaded. I am very disappointed by the lack of upkeep on the place: no new obstacles, run down trails, no sitting areas for owners, dog wash area always busy (costs extra). I am only rating this two stars because of how friendly and professional the one staff member was who was not able to leave the office to handle the bad dog owner.

We are annual members of Dogwood Park and go at least once, sometimes twice a week, rain or shine. We live in an apartment complex and it's a great thing to have when you don't have a yard for your dog to roam freely. The 42-acre park is complete with walking trails and Lake Bow Wow, a 2-acre swimming lake that our dog Lily loves to swim in.
There are usually tennis balls and sometimes frisbees laying around that you can use to entertain your dog. Luckily, when none of these are available, my dog will fetch a stick. Conveniently, there are two hoses at the exit of the park to rinse off your dog at and you can buy a bath in a tub inside the trailer where the office is located. Though, it's been super muddy at both hoses lately defeating the purpose of getting cleaned off to walk through mud again.
Now to why I docked a star. There are some significant potholes in the parking lot and entry way which make for bumpy ride in and out of the park. They recently filled some of the holes in the middle of the driveway but there are still other major ones at the front that are hard to avoid. I've also seen trash and broken glass on the trail before and they've been out of poop bags when I've needed them. I enjoy going to Dogwood but want people to be aware the park has some renovations that need to be made throughout to enhance the guest experience.

My dog looooved this place. So much open room for her to run off leash. They had different terrain like grass, dirt and rocky areas. My favorite part was the little beach area and watching all the dogs play in the water. All over they had obstacles for the dogs, water bowls, poop pick up bags and a place to hose off your dog. We paid $11 for the day for 1 dog but they also have membership options.
We only stayed for about 30 minutes due to time constraints but my dog could have prob stayed for hours happily. Also, all the other dogs that were there were so well behaved and socialized!

We recently adopted a dog and found Dogwood Dog Park to be a very nice place to take her that is close to home. It's a beautiful property, different off leash areas depending on the size of your dog, trails throughout the woods and a huge pond in the back. We've been a handful of times and we have a blast every time! This time however, while walking through the woods we stumbled across a ton of trash in the wooded area. Luckily I spotted it and not our fur baby.
We notified the owner and she stated that when it rains a lot the dirt washes away and the trash comes up. She said that she would be sending her staff out to clean up the trails. We really hope they do clean it up. We love to visit but are a bit hesitant now.

This park is about a 20 minute drive from where we live in North Jax, but we love it so much and it is absolutely worth the trip! Our pups have a blast in the pond and we will usually do a few laps around the trails as well! The staff is always very friendly and helpful. We will usually spend around 3 hours at the park and then follow it up with baths inside the office which has everything you need before heading home. Sometimes we will even grab a quick bite from food trucks that are there on some weekends. So thankful we found the park!

Unfortunately, this place is not at all what are used to be. We've been members for years now, but every month or so it seems like there's more and more decline. The development of this parcel occurred over a trash site and unfortunately there has been no upkeep or maintenance of the trail area. The trail section is full of trash so every time a tree falls or heavy rain happens it I'll uncover some more trash.
The fencing is not maintained so we can't take one of our dogs that escapes all the time because we've literally had to try to get her back from the office park next to Dogwood. The other dog that CAN go gets sick every time we go. If you choose to go during peak times like weekday evenings or weekend nights, that's the only time it's worth it.
Otherwise you better be vigilant and prepared to run away from a dogfight. People don't clean up after their dogs and don't supervise their dogs so behavior gets out of control. There are no official attendants anywhere on the property except the front desk. So go at your own risk. IMO if you're going to pay to take your dog anywhere, go to K9 social or brew hound out on the beach. This place is Not worth the money. We paid for an annual membership for two dogs, but won't be back again until a change of ownership or any drastic.

This was our families first trip to the Park. After two months of home arrest for Heartworm treatment, this was a nice treat for our furry child Jack. Overall a real nice experience. The place is a real nice treat for dogs to run off the collar and mingle with other furry friends. The park is broken up into three sections. One section is especially for dogs 25lbs or less, a good place to start for our 14lb Jack. Jack is a mix Italian greyhound who loves to run!
And run! And run! We advised the staff that it was our first visit. She took us through all the options and amenities at the park, gave us a tour of the different areas, and explained everything to us. Why four stars: The first thing you will notice upon arrival is the driveway is not paved, so your going to rinse off your vehicle when you get home.
The grass was a bit tall, I would like to see the grass cut and the ant hills treated without being a danger to pets. Yes, I stepped in an ant hill. They have bathing areas for your pets, but then your pet has to walk on the lime rock base, or be carried. If you don't want lime rock powder all over your dogs paws, and on the inside your vehicle, you will carry.
I carried Jack. They have daily, monthly, and yearly membership. We paid the day price. Maybe a annual membership is in the future. This was our first, but not last visit to the park.
