Man's Best Friend - North Dallas-Carrollton

Man's Best Friend is a lifesaver! We took our Great Pyrenees puppy in for a two-week training and it was a game changer. Our trainer Mandy is so knowledgeable and practiced. We all learn more with each weekly appointment. I highly recommend their training and boarding services if you want a well-adjusted, well-behaved, and happy dog.

We took our two small dogs to get groomed here for the first time and we had a great experience! The groomer took his time talking to us about how we wanted their hair cut, someone met us at the door to help us in and make our dogs feel comfortable, and we were very happy with their cuts! Everyone we dealt with here acted like they really cared about our dogs and made sure that we all had a good experience. It's a little pricier than what I'm used to, but the great customer service was worth it, in my opinion. I would def recommend their grooming services!

They are second to none. A great staff. Very caring and it is always good to get a training in during your pets stay.

I was looking for a new place because my usual place just closed due to the owner retiring. She had recommended going here so I gave it a shot. Plus, my dog was a shaggy beast by the time I took him in. The staff was helpful, friendly, and engaging. I knew kind of what I wanted and they were able to pinpoint what I meant. They followed up with clarifying questions and, since I have an older dog and this was his first time, told me it may take a little longer so he could ease in and develop trust with the groomers, who were simply amazing.

His nails were done, he was shampooed, and the shaggy beast was transformed into a beautiful happy dog who very proudly pranced for the rest of the day. I will be back. I know it's hard taking your pet to a new place, but I am sure glad I found these folks. I just hope I tipped enough. Grateful for the experience. Cheers, y'all.

My Pug Poppie has pretty bad separation anxiety but that doesn't stop her from having the best time when she gets to Man's Best Friend. We have boarded her here for a full weekend and I could tell she was well taken care of! She also gets groomed by Caden, whom I HIGHLY recommend. He gave me tips and info on things I never thought of. When I take my girl to them I feel as if they love her like I do. MANS BEST FRIEND FAMILY LOVE THESE ANIMALS MORE THAN ANYTHING AND IT SHOWS IN THEIR BUSINESS! 10/10 I have never had any complaints, just positive feedback.

Just like with any hair stylist it's hard to find someone who does a good consistent job. Caden is a groomer here at mans best friend and by far my favorite! He's been cutting my dogs hair for a couple of years now and I refuse to go to anyone else! Not only has he built a bond with my dog to where I feel comfortable enough to only go to him - he's always consistent with cutting his hair just how I like and always doing such a great job!

We took our Corgi for his first grooming and had an amazing experience! The communication we received from the staff was plentiful and they took great care of our boy. Will definitely be coming back for future grooming appointments and for training!

The trainer Taylor is a great trainer. your dog will love him to death. He takes the time to really get to know my dog, and taught her well. I have classes coming up and I can't wait to learn more about my dog behavior. He is a great teacher! Recommend definitely

I have used MBF's boarding and grooming services and have been very pleased with both. The staff is friendly, informative, professional. They obviously care about both the dogs and their owners I was especially pleased with the grooming service. The groomer listened to me about how I wanted my standard poodle pup to look, offered ideas and delivered a very handsome poodle puppy when I picked him up. Thank you. Will definitely be returning for boarding, grooming and other services in the future!

Angry and disappointed. Time and time again I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but after they "lost" my grooming reservation for the third time this morning, I am done. I called yesterday and was told by the manager Jerry that they could take my dog for today. This was also not the first time I made Jerry aware of the problems I was having with having scheduled appointments getting "lost, " grooming not being properly done, grooming my dog with a cut that I did not ask for, not grooming my dog at all, etc., etc.

I continued to stupidly take my dog here and pay the high cost of grooming fees while not getting what I asked for. After my last groomer retired, I decided to use this location because they are close to my house, but after the experience today of having yet another "lost" appointment after I had rearranged my entire day to get the grooming done, I am willing to drive halfway across town just to avoid the hassle of this location ever again.

Our family has used Man's Best Friend for years and we would not take our babies anywhere else. The staff (who are more like family now) truly love and care about our four-legged family members, as much as we do. We are always greeted with a smile and the pups get so excited when we are close to the facility. These are good people doing a hard job because they love what they do and it shows.

I love Ms. Tina! She is amazing and all of the staff follow suit. They're great people who love dogs and my baby always is happy & healthy after every stay! I recommend Man's Best Friend to any & everyone. I trust my baby with them and not only that, but they are kind-hearted and understanding. 10/10 would recommend

I hate to write this review but want other dog owners to be aware of what happened to my sweet Millie. We boarded her for a few days and when we can to pick her up she was covered in pee. Like her belly, legs were drenched in her own pee. Seemed she had been sitting in her pee all day. Our dog can hold it for a long time so this is really disappointing. Wanted to give everyone a heads up - go somewhere else for boarding. they may neglect your dogs needs (they claim to take them out 3-4 times). Will not be returning. Millie is 3 years old and fully trained.

We have used Man's Best Friend for training and/or boarding for almost 20 years and have always found their services to be professional and reasonable. We have left our pets from a few days to a month. They get to know your pet; the service is personal to them. In other words, they care. They understand that they are caring for a family member who is to be treated with dignity and concern. We have never encountered one issue and always know that our pet is safe and secure in their hands.

I moved to Houston a few months ago, and my brother recommended Man's Best Friend. I couldn't be happier. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and professional, and they truly care about the animals. I can leave my dog there for daycare, knowing he is being taken care of. Now I'm recommending them to everyone,

At first when we dropped our dog it was supposed to be more for boarding. But we decided since we will be away let's get her trained. She was fine when we got home with her. We practiced with her. And now it's like she doesn't stop jumping on us she doesn't stay put when we ask. She jumps the gate for the stairs. Spent so much to train her for nothing

Wont be back. 2nd time going. Terrible customer service. Made an appointment for both of my dogs on Saturday for Monday grooming. Showed up to be told no appointment was made and the groomer says he has 20 dogs to groom and did not seem like he want to take them. As I was loading my dogs in the car he chased me down and said he could take them. At this point why would I pay for a questionable rushed groom so I left and will not be back. "Decent" grooming and bad customer service is not worth the headache.

Mandy at Mans Best Friend is the best! I have a rescued miniature pit bull, we needed guidance and she has come such a long way in a very short amount of time. My dogs connection with me is the biggest difference, Mandy taught me how to be clear with my commands and habits with her and it changed everything. I would recommend Their trading services to anyone and I have also boarded my dog and she's completely happy when. I pick her up and when we go back for training sessions again, it's obvious everyone makes her feel comfortable and loved!

We keep going to Man's Best Friend because of the quality of the people that take care of our pet. They have earned our trust and have been using them 18+ years.

They leave dogs in horrible conditions. The dogs have concrete crates in the boarding rooms. NOT pillowed areas and beds. Before you leave your dog here, check how much you love your fur baby first. I wouldn't even let my rat stay the night here. Their employment overturn is very high as well which should tell you something about the company overall.

Went for some protection work with Mandy. She is a great trainer! She has my Rottweiler, Zeus, on point! He knows his commands so well and I have no doubt that he will always protect me and our home. The staff always greets us with a smile and they are always so helpful. We (Zeus and I) love our visits at Man's Best Friend.

When I first brought Diamond to see if she would pass a socialization test she tried to bite Mandy the trainer, even though Mandy was very good with her. So we started one on one obedience training. Mandy's style is strict but low key. No yelling, just quiet commands. Show, do, practice. We added a training collar which gets Diamond's attention without hurting her.

The training is great. Diamond has learned basic commands including waiting for me to give her permission. Most importantly Diamond has learned to trust people and socialize with other dogs and (sort of) with a cat! Mandy has also done a great job of teaching me how to continue the work we have done. The receptionist Brenda is very friendly and assists Brenda as well. Diamond loves getting belly rubs from Brenda and sitting in Mandy's lap. I highly recommend Man's Best Friend for dog training.

I took my dog here and he stayed for 2 weeks for his obedience training. We were told that we needed to continue to coach him with his commands, which we did as instructed. Our dog was so terrified of everything. A hand being raised, a roll of toilet paper, loud noises. The only command he continued to listed to was "sit", which he already knew prior to going to his training. We've heard many similar stories before brining him here but we trusted the positive ones.

I cannot remember the name of the trainer but she was definitely very aggressive. She kneed my dog in the face a couple of times while showing us what he "learned". She was trying to show how great he followed her at her left side while she walked in circles in the room. I'm not sure how they do their training but it seemed to me as if he was mistreated. There's so much more I could say but I'd rather just leave it at that. $1800 wasted. For this training, you may as well take your dog to petco for the $30 training.

Took our two dogs to get trained and when we received them everything seem fine. After a couple of days having them we noticed how the pups would coward down and shake at any movement of or hands even if it was to scratch our neck. Also when they are in their crates we would use a rod to push their dog bones back to them when they got stuck and now when we do that the dogs yelp and do anything they can to get out as if they're expecting us to start beating them with the rod.

This seems as though the dogs were mistreated and we've heard from other families how the same happened to them but didn't take their opinions to heart since we took a dog here previously and everything seemed fine. It's safe to say now we won't be going back

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place but I really LOVE MANDY! My sweet boy Max went to the 2 week training course last year and he was a whole new puppy when he came home. She did an amazing job but that's not it! We go back for training all the time with Mandy and just love her. Max is a full fledged service dog now and it's because of Mandy's guidance that he is. She's always ready to improve on old tasks as well as incorporate new ones. She's got the answers when I've got the questions!

I can't say enough about MBF. We had adopted our first dog, a gentle giant Great Pyrenees. We were recommended to train him at MBF and we were so happy. They did an incredible job. The whole team is special. I love now in California but I'm serious, I miss them a lot. Such amazing good heart people that truly love what they do and love animals.

My dog was already 1 year old, not an easy task, but they were able to give him good manners and specially trained him to let me take him for a walk and not him take me for a walk. Brenda is a precious soul. Zeca loved her. Helena and her mom I miss too. Always with a good word and letting us feel comfortable in leaving him for daycare. God Bless this company! They deserve way more than 5 stars.

Our trainer Mandy has literally changed my dog and I's daily life. She has always had my dog's best interest in mind and is always catering to her needs. After just 4 sessions, we went from a completely wild pup to the most obedient and well behaved dog I've ever owned. I was never able to take her into public places but now she comes with me everywhere I go.

People are always complimenting her good behavior and I couldn't recommend Mandy to enough people if I tried. If you want a dog that listens, obeys and isn't stubborn anymore, this is truly the only place to take your pup. I highly recommend the individual sessions as they really focus on you and your dog. I am forever grateful for Mandy and Man's Best Friend for giving me the best behaved dog in the world!

Where do I begin. I originally took my Staffordshire Terrier puppy "Django" to Man's Best Friend and though I was not happy with the price/cost of the training I can not speak any higher of my trainer Mandy R. She is AMAZING, not only as a trainer but as a person. When I walked in I had no clue about training a dog other than the basic sit and come.

By time she finished with my boy he was a new dog but more importantly I noticed how passionate she was about her work and the product of her work. Even my dog lite up like a Christmas tree when he saw her (If I didn't think she was such a good person i would have been jealous.lol). She single handily made my experience a positive one. I talked and worked with a few of her co-workers but didn't feel/get the same welcome, joy and excitement as I did when working with Mandy.

Not to be mean, but they just seemed to go through the motions and get there money. If you are ever at this location and you are looking for someone to treat your dog as if it was theirs all while putting some GREAT obedience on them at the same time. MANDY is your girl. Ask for her directly. You won't regret it!

This place is beyond amazing and I will always recommended it for boarding and training! I adopted my 5 year old dog in May and had her here for the 2 week program; they keep her an extra week bc she litterally had no training in her life! And they have helped me so much! My little Betty is a changed dogggggy for the better, so thankful! I recommend the lifetime help though! Just bc its unlimited training! LOVE THIS PLACE!

I really wanted to like this place from the reviews and the people at the desk, but. I boarded my dog here for a full week in August, and when I picked him up he had a fresh scrape on his nose, his muzzle had gone from sort of white to completely white, and he had a lump on his head above his eye. I also brought his food with him and had to remind the people at the desk to give me his leftovers. He didn't seem traumatized or anything but I definitely would not be comfortable bringing him back again.
