My dog loves Nelson and his team. They are extremely patient, gentle, and kind. Although my dog is anxious about baths and being blow-dried, she's comfortable with the caring team. Always a positive experience for both pet and owner. A personal friend highly recommended Le Chien and I'm glad they did.

Where do you even start with Nelson and his team! They are so kind, and knowledgeable, and I can tell my puppies were very happy in his care. When I brought them in they were dirty and matted. first time dog owner so I didn't know where to start with grooming but le chien truly knew what to do to make them shine and smell so sweet. Nelson took his time getting every mat out and then showed me which brush would be best since I didn't have the right brush which I was able to buy from him which made it easy for me.
Just overall we got a very warm and positive vibe from Nelson and his salon and my family will be back for grooming again. Pricing was good to for what I paid I got more than I could imagine two happy clean fluffy little snowballs. Thank you again Nelson and team!

Nelson is great. Friends of mine recommended him and I can see why. He took care of our dog Watson and returned him looking more handsome than ever. He gave me a lot of advice on daily care and brushing. He wants to work with you and build a relationship rather than just run an operation to make money. Thank you Nelson and his family!

Nelson is an excellent groomer and I highly recommend taking any of your furry friends here. Nelson is timely with his reminder texts and gives excellent haircuts to our little Simone. Le Chien is open during COVID and taking full COVID precautions. I would strongly encourage you to support Le Chien during this strenuous time.

I usually don't like posting negative reviews especially for small businesses. Our 7 year old dog has gone to Nelson every 5-8 weeks over the last 1.5 years. Before that he has had a similar ritual with other groomers ever since he was a 3-month old. Every one has only complemented him for his gentle demeanor and ability to stand still for the longest time (obedience training) Yesterday, he came back home trying to lick between his legs.
We checked and found the wound. As Nelson's store was closed and I am the primary customer, my husband waited for me to return. By the time I returned, the vets' clinic had closed for the day too. I sent the pictures to Nelson to check if a novice had done the grooming. Instead of acknowledging and apologizing, as another individual would do, he turned on the dog.
First that the wound was from licking - our dog doesn't- a difficult spot too. Second, he must have fidgeted which he countered himself by saying that the dog never even cried. Our dog, as I said before, is a gentle soul. Today we took him to the vet - he confirmed that the wound was indeed a grazed cut, he also found a couple of new nicks. We had found one yesterday, which Nelson said could be from scratching.
While our dog does not lick, he does scratch once in a while. These were in a different location - inner side of the leg joint - unscratchable. Nelson had also noticed some scars from older nicks. So it must have happened before. I am now really sorry for not noticing them before. Make what you can of this. I hope your dog is luckier. I am surely not taking our baby back to Le Chien. My biggest annoyance is the lack of remorse and deflection.

Nelson and Rose have the biggest heart. The love and respect they showed when grooming Sugar and to my family on her last day was incredible, thoughtful and so sweet. They are not just groomers, their humanity surpasses all with the love and respect they show to our fur baby! Nelson and Rose you are amazing and will forever be in our hearts.

I told the groomer never to cut the face hair too much and he still did. He never listens. The cut is choppy and uneven. My dog who is so adorable and cute when he checked in came out looking abused and sickly! I cried when I saw my cute little dog. His fur cut received a lot criticisms from family and friends blaming me for his kind of look. Will never come back here. It feels like I've been robbed of my money. They have no aesthetic sense of what's beautiful.

Nelson and crew are fantastic! I've now taken my doggy here three times, and I'm always impressed by Nelson's kindness, efficiency, and excellent work. My dog was a rescue who was likely mistreated at some point, so she can be a bit anxious. It's been touching to see her warm up to Nelson. She generally doesn't like men, so I think he definitely has the magic touch.
I really appreciate his patience and sweetness with her. Also, I find his reminder phone calls helpful as time can fly by and I can easily forget when it's time to take her in. Also, the space/salon is great!

I have been taking my dog to Le Chien Fortune for over a year now and I couldn't be happier with the service I have received. Nelson and his family are wonderful! My dog comes back in perfect condition every time. I have never been disappointed by the cut or condition of his coat. I highly recommend bringing your dogs to Nelson. He will even give you a friendly reminder call when it's time for a trim. They also have a teeth cleaning service that comes to the shop monthly, which I also recommend. 5 star service all the way! Thanks Nelson!

Very good place to take your pet! My Pompug looks fabulous and I even got him a Warriors jersey while there. The owner and his family are very welcoming and patient with your pet. My dog gets very anxious and I was afraid that would be an issue but the owner made us feel at ease and got the job done both professionally and safely. I highly recommend this business.

So I've been holding off on this review for a couple of weeks. What pushed me to write this review was Nelson calling me three times in one week to bring my dog in. which to me is a little pushy. I just moved to the peninsula and was looking for a new groomer for my yorkie. I thought I did good research and narrowed it down to two places. Here and somewhere else.
But Nelson could take my dog in sooner. I picked up my yorkie with a choppy cut between her eyes. It looks like someone unexperienced got a scissors and chop right across. Not very flattering. I wasn't going to say anything and just find another groomer for her next cut. Fast forward to a couple weeks down the road. Nelson calls me three times in one week leaving voicemails that it was time to bring in my dog for another haircut.
I figured that if he didn't hear from me the first time that he would stop calling and wait for me to call back. But he didn't. I got so irritated I ended up blocking his number so I wouldn't get any more calls. I never had a groomer call me to bring my dog in. and call me multiple times. After my negative experience I also notice in the negative reviews that he has a history of choppy cuts. Just be careful. If you do bring your dog in. good luck. I'm now on a hunt for a new groomer in the peninsula. I hate writing negative reviews.

The first time I brought my dog here, her cut was great. No problems. I brought my dog here a second time--her hair cut was choppy. I brushed it off. I brought her a third time--choppy cut again, and he cut my dogs paw. I'm guessing it wouldn't stop bleeding because he had to put some green gunk on it ( I forget what its called). My mom was pissed he cut her. & it's really upsetting to re-read other people's reviews and see it's not the first time he's cut someone's dog while grooming them. Needless to say, I haven't brought her back since.
