Also owned by Central Pet & garden, This was once a great distributor until it was bought by central and they installed an evil regime to run it. if you want to know more about the quality just look up SunPet (their) sister store)ltd and check out the reviews. Now segrest is just as bad. The guy who is over it all is Steve Hughes who is solely responsible for all the sick animals from sunpet as well as the videos of the lady bashing the guinea pig to death b/c it was returned from a store.
If you complain or return animals then they blacklist you and cancel your accounts at both places. This is Central Pets dirty little secret. If it werent for the big money of Central neither of these places would still exist. Ask anyone who owns a shop! Steve Hughes would be better perhaps running a carwash instead of overseeing livestock. He could care or less!

After 1 order that mostly died in quarantine in the first 48 hours, I gave then a pass, but the next 2 orders had the same result so I call to ask questions. I was told they keep all their community fish in cold water (71) to avoid bacteria growth. That should tell you enough. No other supplier does this, no retail stores would do this, and no educated hobbyists would do this.
I was told I would get a call back from customer service and from their "lab tech" and never received the call. Buy from them at your own risk. No longer will segrest farm fish be sold in my store.

I purchase fish at stores in the local area, and have been in the hobby for years now, so I knew of this place beforehand. It is awesome that the company and staff conduct tours of their facility and operations. It is very interesting to see the processes and how they fulfill orders. It was a great visit and experience!

We ordered Bettas from here, I can not begin to describe how unimpressed I was. They put each beta in a tiny bag, smaller then my fist. My hands are pretty small. If I were to guess, there was 1-2 tablespoons of water in each, and some were extremely dirty. When we got them into bigger spaces, they were swimming around looking really happy. This makes me wonder what conditions they're kept in in the farm itself.

I got to go on a tour with my class! It was very fun, if a bit hot. (There was very little AC.) The guide was friendly and answered all of our questions, even if that meant asking other people when she didn't know the answer. We got to see all kinds of fish: both freshwater and marine. We got to see corals and other invertebrates, too. If you get the chance to go, do!

This place is MASSIVE, guys! If you are into the aquatic scene, you definitely will like this place! It's on about five acres and you can tour the operations to see how it all works. It's probably a good thing you can't buy the fish directly from them when you visit, otherwise it would have been a very expensive trip because of all of the diverse types of fish here. Their free tour was about an hour and well worth it. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Come check it out!

My wife and I showed up unannounced late one afternoon and we're very graciously given a tour that lasted about 1 and 1/2 hours. We expected to see breeding programs and grow out of the livestock. That was not the case. They appeared to be buyers / importers of tropical fish and livestock worldwide. The livestock is shipped in and then shipped out as quickly as possible. Understanding their operation and all of the distribution problems they deal with make you appreciate the price that you pay for your tropical fish.
