Services
Due to the varying of size, coat, temperament and age of dogs, prices are always given as a quote and are not set in stone until completion of groom. We have a price board in our lobby that states the starting prices for many purebreds. Mix breeds (Goldendoodles, Cockapoos, Teddy Bears, Cavaschons etc.) can range anywhere from $50-$120 especially without meeting your pet first.
Prices for dog grooming varies based on breed, size, temperament, coat type and coat condition, so please inquire for a quote. Additional special handling or matting fees may apply. Calling our salon is the best way to schedule an appointment, although we can answer any questions you may have immediately via our Facebook/Instagram page.
Our clients love our Bath & Tidy's! We encourage Bath & Tidy's to help maintain your pet's coat in between full haircuts. Many of our pets receive this service to space out full haircuts and help eliminate knots, especially in the Winter, when owners like to keep their pet's coat longer. This service includes our base package, as well as trimming of the paws and feet, sanitary area, and hair above the eyes.
To get your new baby started off on the right paw, we recommend to bring your puppy in for grooming before 3 months of age. Waiting any longer is not recommended, because they need to get acclimated to the sights, smells and feelings of the grooming process. Jimminy Clippers knows the importance of 'Table Training' your pup early in life, and we do not recommend a full haircut for their first grooming experience.

This review is for the new owners. They butchered my dog's backside cut and charged me double for services that I was getting her for the last 6 years! Beware and stay away!

THE GOOD RATINGS ARE FOR THE PREVIOUS OWNER - NOT THE CURRENT ONES My husband and I have taken our two mini Aussies and one blue ASH to this place for years. Never any problem, never any complaint. During covid, our trips were fewer and shorter in between, not their problem. I just brought them in today without knowing the business was sold to aussholes.

Not only did the woman (who couldn't take care of her own hair and is currently looking for a roommate) do a complete hack job on my dogs BUT SHE HANDED THEM BOTH BACK BLEEDING WITH HUGE RASHES ON THEIR BODIES AND NEVER SAID A WORD. SHE PUT A 1/4" DEEP CUT WITH A RAZOR BLADE INTO THEIR PAW PAD. DEEP ENOUGH TO WARRENT STICHES THAT SHE ADMITTED TO USED TO CUT THEIR PAWS WITH.

When my husband called, the man at the front desk just made excuse after excuse for the "groomer" and made no attempt at apologizing nor remedying the situation. Now i get to spend another +$200 to fix the +$200 screw up these people made. This place used to be the best. I could trust my loved ones with them. Used to. Btw these photos were after the bleeding stopped.

Cocoa Puff and Lola came back today from Jimminy Clippers looking great, smelling wonderful and as happy as two dogs could be! Amy was terrific and they loved her!

Best clipping service my dogs have ever had. Our dog Irish is usually impossible to get clipped but Jimminy handled it like a pro. Great pricing, will be returning!

My neighbors recommended Jimminy to me after taking their 2 mini doxies numerous times. My girl Katie has been there a few times now. She always looks cute coming home, but more importantly, she is a little scared upon arrival but always seems fine when I pick her up, which tells me they take time to keep her calm. With a 10+ year old dog, that is very important. I recommend Jimminy!

First time visit for Walter Decker! Molly was the lucky groomess. She did an amazing job In April we moved to Wheeling from Indiana leaving our groomer of 4 years. However knowing Walter is a tad Grumpy (werewolf mode), we decided to make the 4 hour drive each way to keep the relationship. With the Chicago winter weather approaching we decided to seek out a new Grooming Company, I called a few found on yelp and a few from our new Vet.

A few were not taming new clients and a few were not keen on taking temperamental guy like Walter. Long story short - Jiminy too k him no questions asked and quickly! Molly did an amazing job of caring for Walter and making sure we were all comfortable and safe! Very happy with the outcome and that they were willing to let him keel coming back.!

The groom was ok. The customer service leaves something to be desired. I was a first time customer to this establishment. On Monday (8/2) I had received a text message stating that I needed to confirm my appointment for "Tomorrow, Tuesday 8/4". I hadn't looked at the numerical date and simply went off the other two indicators for the appointment date.

I had to make arrangements for someone to bring my dog at the new time as I assumed I screwed up the time and I had to work. The place was closed upon arrival. No sign was posted of their closure despite their voicemail and door sign stating they should be open. I called and left a voicemail indicating the different information on the text message and asked to get a confirmation about when the appointment actually was.

No call back at all. So, since I didn't want to get hit with the $25 fee that they threatened in the text for a no show appointment, I brought my dog the following day at the 1pm appointment time. No mention of the incorrect confirmation text or my voicemail until my boyfriend brought it up to the receptionist and was met with a very passive apology. $65 later, I my dog got an ok groom and I received absolutely no mention of their screwup.

I understand mistakes however no followup to a voicemail asking specifically for a call back to confirm a mistake they made is unacceptable. A simple groom threw two of my days into a confusion due to garbage customer service. Onwards to the next groomer.

Unless you'd like to be belittled, condescended, ripped-off, and made to feel like a completely horrible human being for trying to support a local business, DO NOT GO HERE. Please keep in mind that my family and I have been going to Jimminy Clippers for 30+ years. The previous owner, Kathy, was one of the most wonderful people on Earth. All of that changed with the new ownership and today was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I brought my 2 girls for a walk-in appointment to have their nails trimmed. After receiving attitude from the male receptionist that I didn't have an appointment, he begrudgingly took my girls back to have their nails done; one-by-one. While he had 1 of my girls in back, I asked if I could pay him before I had my hands full of dogs. He told me it'd be $30 for the 2 girls.

I thanked him and handed him my credit card. He said "Ok, $34 on your card" and started to insert my card into his machine. I asked him to stop and asked why the almost 15% increase for using my card. In a very degrading tone, he asked me if I knew how credit cards worked. I explained that by trade, I'm very familiar with the credit card processing flow, but he interrupted me and started to lecture me in a way that can only be received as having the intent to guilt me as a consumer about how he loses money if I pay with a credit card.

I asked him if he had any signs posted about the additional fees if I pay with a credit card or cash and why he didn't say something to me when I walked in today and he said that he does not have to as this is his business (which I'm not even sure is lawful). I asked if I could go get cash and come back to pay him and he said no. I explained that I have never *to my knowledge* been charged by Jimminy Clippers for using a credit card and am very surprised that he is starting to do so without telling the public.

I asked for the owner's information and he said he is the owner. I asked for his name and he said "Why.". I then cancelled the future appointment that I had made for full service and told him that I'd be taking my business to Wee Little Paws, down the road on Rand. They do a great job and charge a bit less. He asked why I even came there today then and I told him that my family and I had been supporting Jimminy Clippers for 30+ years until today; that I'd be making sure to tell everyone I knew of my experience with them. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! PLEASE SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES THAT ACTUALLY RESPECT THEIR CUSTOMERS. THERE ARE MANY OF THEM OUT THERE!

They did a fantastic job grooming my big, fluffy malamute! The groomer seemed very knowledgeable about grooming dual coat dogs and was very accommodating to my requests! Massive props to them for the tremendous job of pulling all the shed undercoat out of my dog as he feels sleek, smooth, and so so soft now! We'll probably be back, hopefully next time with a less dirty, matted dog!

They were nice but I didn't like the grooming my dog received at all especially since the prices were rather high. I expected more paying that price. My dog was also shaking when he came out. Not sure if it was because they basically shaved him down too short (not what I wanted) or because he didn't like them. Not going back.

We have been taking our Standard Poodle here for some years. She is my emotional support service dog so we take her everywhere with us. No matter where we go people are amazed how wonderfully she is groomed, and especially other groomers. Barbie Doll is their best advertisement.

After our visit, I realize we had been settling with our last groomer. The dogs looked phenomenal. I was out of town, so I emailed them the info about each dog - cut, temperament etc. My husband said the handoff in the parking lot was seamless. They were professional, courteous and careful, due to our new normal. And, most importantly, the dogs looked amazing! I'll upload photos later.

Recently took my dog for a deshedding process I was very pleased with price and service. Until 5 days later when my dog was ill turns out the deshedding brush they used was either dirty. Or used to hard or wrong. My girl has abscesses all over her skin. They are popping and she needs antibiotics oral and spray. Also shaving her Again no offer of compensation When I told owner they apologized but no offer to refund my 40. Not to men my bills from Rand Road Animal hospital she's been 2 times in 2 days. Perhaps they need to use better sanitation

Wow! What a wonderful place! We are new to the area and I am very cafeful about who I take my five year old samoyed, Nora to. As soon as I called up I knew I found the right place. They were very knowledgable about the breed and their coats complicated needs. She came out looking gorgeous and a few fur pounds lighter, and even put on two beautiful bows and a bandana! Fantastic service, have definitely found my new groomer!

Been taking my two dogs here for over 5+ years, and always been great up until recently with the new owner Pat. My pops dropped off the dogs for their routine grooming and I called in to let them know that I couldn't pick up at 5pm that I needed them by 4pm because I had to work. Pat told me that only one would be done by 4pm and that I could bring the other back in the morning for them to finish.

I paid $120 plus left a $20 tip (this is what we normally pay for two) never once did he mentioned that there would be extra charges etc. The next morning I brought my other dog to be finished. At noon I went to pick her up and Molly told me I owed another $65 because she had to be washed again and that the girls were extra dirty this time. Mind you, never once was this mentioned to me the day before or even on the day via a phone call etc.

I was livid to say the least $185 plus I left a $20 tip the day before so $205 to bathe and give haircuts to two cocker spaniels?! Molly told me to call and talk to the new owner, Pat. I called Pat today and explained to him the situation and he was willing to lose a great customer of 5+ years rather than make it right. We will not be returning to this rip off establishment. Buyer BEWARE! Terrible business especially in our small community. Be careful!

We're so happy with the full grooming services provided for our 4 month old puppy. She's a little white Malshi and we like to keep her well groomed. The team in this shop is so professional and they really care about dogs. They take their time for each dog. The shop is clean and organized. Our puppy came home soft & fluffy and smelling great! Well done, Jimminy Clippers!

I came here to get my dog's nails trimmed. She is very timid and the staff was so kind and patient. They let me come back with her to help calm her down. I have had very bad experiences with other groomers who have quickly become frustrated with my dog because she squirms away and is afraid of the clippers. Unlike at other places, she was so calm here and let the staff clip her nails. I think it is because THEY were calm and knew how to react to her. I was very impressed and we will be back.

We love Jimminy Clippers! My cat comes home looking adorable and clean and is uncharacteristically relaxed about the whole experience. The staff is VERY friendly and it's so obvious they love cats.

I love this place. They are clean and professional. I am always hesitant on where I take my Persian cat and Jimminy Clippers is the spot. They are fast and my cat always comes back with a perfect cut and smells sooooo good.

Positives: I got on a waiting list for a Saturday and they called and got me in. Very friendly. Fast: dropped dog off at 9:30 done by 12:30. When I asked for touch ups they did on the spot. Negatives: don't like my dog hair cut, her nails are super sharp after being cut. She was full of her hair and other dogs and cats when I picked her up. (Both me and my son are allergic to cats and dog fur, why we have a dog with hair). Thank goodness I was just in workout clothes.

Thank you Jimminy Clippers! As always you have done a great job. This is the third year in a row I have taken my cat to you for grooming. I don't know about these other negative comments but my cat always looks great never choppy or uneven. She's a cat of course she is going to be angry being around strangers but she comes home and seems to purr even more than normal as if she is saying thanks mom, I needed that, I feel better, and look great! Anyway, I highly recommend Jimminy Clippers / Kitty City Salon. :-

I took my cat here to get groomed with the lion cut. They kept him there for hours and finally they said he should be done soon so I waited in the lobby and happened to peak through the window into the grooming area and what I saw absolutely broke my heart and disgusted me. The groomer had twisted his poor arm all the way back in an unnatural way to shave the underside.

She kept jerking him around. I regret putting him through that torture, I just had no idea they were so violent with the animals especially since they came highly recommend. If it was difficult to shave him they should have told me and I would have just taken him home without the cut. He was traumatized for days after that experience. The cut was not even good.

Very choppy and un even. You all might think you are getting a great groom for your pet, but next time you are there I highly recommend looking through the tiny window to see how they are really treating your pet. No pet should be treated the way mine was. Maybe they are good with dogs, but if they can't handle grooming cats they shouldn't accept any more clients with cats.

We've been using jimminy clippers for about 15 years or more and always remain more than satisfied with their services friendliness and the fact that the dogs really do like the Clippers. One time we brought our little dog to Petco and they were so hard on him they actually cut his puppy unit. Do your pet and yourself a favor and use jimminy Clippers all the time

*****The five star treatment***** Cathy is a gem and Jimminy Clippers is hands down, the best dog salon in town! My husband and I were in need of a place that was well educated and trustworthy. Kathy's 20 years of experience set my mind at ease, as well as, the customers coming and going, appeared to be more than pleased. I decided this was the place for our new 5 month Pomeranian puppy to learn the ways of "being groomed".

I approached the desk for check in and the friendly receptionist had me out the door with my pick up time faster than you could blink (Even with it being a busy, busy Saturday morning). Cute waiting room, quick drop off/sign in, quick pick up, friendly & accommodating receptionist, great shampoo, great brushing, great cut and yummy scent! Our pup smelled delish long after it was all said and done. Thank you and definitely won't see the last of us :)

They are the best groomers in town. I have taken my puppy here since he was born. They care about my dog and know the perfect style to make him cute. The interior is very good and clean. My puppy have loved here!

My poor Himalayan had become horribly knotted with pelting developing on his coat after while my wife was out of town and I was overwhelmed with a hectic work schedule. We had made an appointment at our regular groomer, which was put off for a week as they do not have a person on staff full time to groom cats. Within a few hours of dropping him off they had called and said they could not do him as they did not have enough experience. Luckily for us, one of the employee's recommended Jimminy Clippers and even called them for us. Cathy took SmokeyBear in immediately as an emergency cut, which is almost unheard of with most groomers today. Jimminy Clippers has a new customer for life.

Thank you Cathy, I cannot tell you how much gratitude I have for taking in SmokeyBear. He was so happy last night he spent a good hour on my chest just purring and wanting attention.
