In 1987, Tim and Lauren met and began their education in dog grooming at New York School of Dog Grooming. Upon graduating from dog grooming school, Tim opened Bark of the Town on Sunbury Street in Millerstown. After marrying and moving into their home, Tim and Lauren added Bark of the Town Kennels onto an addition attached to their garage, then just six kennels, in 1991.

After being consistently being booked to capacity and having waiting lists each summer, they built a new 24 run boarding kennel behind their house that opened in the fall of 2004.

Regular grooming is an important part of keeping your pet healthy. There are five major areas to focus on when caring for your pet: coat, teeth, nails, ears and eyes. While this care requires effort, it will pay off in a pet that stays healthier longer. It is important to start these activities as early as possible - preferably around eight weeks - to get your pet accustomed to and comfortable with these activities. When you call us to make an appointment to have your pet groomed we will provide the best, safest grooming experience for your pet.
Now you can get away and relax, knowing your pet is receiving the care, love and attention they would receive in their own home. Bark of the Town Kennel is located in Millerstown, Pennsylvania and offers a healthy atmosphere with personal attention to the needs of each pet.
It is not meant to be a substitute for a visit to the vet but to make you more knowledgeable concerning these common issues and their vaccines. We take many precautions to prevent these diseases at our kennel, including attending various continuing education seminars with pet health and kennel management to stay up-to-date, and always using disinfectant when cleaning and frequent hand washing for staff. This is a contagious infection that causes upper respiratory signs - mainly coughing - in dogs.

I have been coming ho for 7 years and have always been pleased with the quality of service given to my Golden Doodle Colby. Tim is a great groomer and his prices are some of the lowest around.

The entire staff at bark of the town is incredible, they always do everything within their power to accommodate our boarding needs for Boaz. The facility is top notch with cameras for folks, like my wife, that need to check on their baby every two hours. :-) Many people are intimidated by our dog but not the staff at "Bark of the Town!" They always give Boaz and bath and cut his nails before we pick him up (extra fee for the service.) Thank you to the entire staff!

They are great! We like them especially because they open early at 6:00 a.m. which works good for our schedule. They are great with our pets too!

Have been taking my dogs to Bark of the town since I was little. Tim does a great job and my 3 dogs always look and smell great. He is very nice and he cares about animals and the animals he works on. Great place and definitely best groomer.

Bark of the Town gave my pup a wonderful grooming experience. Normally, he is stressed and gives the groomers a run for their money. After Murphy's grooming session he was calm and appeared confident. Not only did they make him look great they also did not stress him out! Would highly recommend!

We have been bringing our dogs, both past and present, to Tim for almost 20 years. Great kennel with a wonderful staff. We are very relaxed when we are away and our pets are in Tim's care. We moved to Mechanicsburg a few years ago and we still use Bark of the Town Kennels and Grooming service. They are the best. We highly recommend them.

Because they are the best. Great hrs. Very good with your pets. My dog won't even let me bath him. He lets them do everything. Gunner was so scared when he went they were so nice with him. I love them.

This is a pet groomer. I had heard nothing but good things about this place and this groomer. So we set up an appointment which took about two months to get. Our dog is rather large and hairy, we took in there to get him cut down to a shorter more manageable haircut. He told us not to wait so we went back 45 minutes later to pick up our dog. When we got home I noticed that my dog's testicles were bleeding, he shaved them with something too sharp and had taken the top layer of skin off.

I then looked at my dog all over and he had cuts behind both ears, he had a large area beside his anus was bleeding also. I immediately took pictures and texted the groomer. I never got an answer. I have another appointment scheduled, I will cancel that appointment and never take my dog back there again. I don't understand how this could not have happened to other people also. He's a butcher. I thought it my duty to make other future customers aware of this horrible person and his grooming abilities.

The bark of the town was literally the best groomer I have taken my dog to ever! Not only did I like him, but my dog loved him. I will have to try boarding him sometime. Very friendly and easy to get in and out.
