Everyone was very nice and friendly! It's a very nice clean place. My cat was surprisingly very well behaved, loved them, and ate all the treats. They go over ALL prices with you and explain everything well. I feel like they are very reasonably priced. They let you choose what you want to do along with guidance of what they think you should do. I was very pleased!

I was couple times with my dog at this vet hospital and each time I was stressed and disappointed on how they treating my dog( teacup Pomeranian). Today June14/2022 at 9:50 I took my dog for annual check up. They said that they need to take dogs blood. They start doing that right in front of me. They was not able to get dogs blood from one leg and started poking her other legs.
After many unsuccessful tries I told them to stop torcher dog. So they took dog away from exam room and brought it back 5 min later saying they are done. This is first time in my life when vet trying to take a blood in front of owner. I would never bring my animals there again!

So my dog which I have a Bernie doodle mix puppy when I got her and when we would feed her food and water right afterwards she would Throw up every time and we something was wrong. So we bought her to Shawsheen animal hospital and then they took X-rays and so on and told us she had something in her guts and she would need to do emergency surgery someplace in Lawrence emergency somewhere and it was going to cost us 8,000 and then we told them how much to put her down I know she's a puppy but at that price we can't afford it so there like let me check something we can do the surgery here in Shawsheen animal hospital going to be 2,500 and she will have to stay overnight then guess what after they call us telling us it's on her way out the Object and doesn't need surgery but they keep her overnight and shaved her leg to put IVs on cost us around 1,800 and to top it off we bought her to another vet in a different town and they told us she doesn't have nothing in her and never did.
Her problem is she can't have anything cold. Everything she eats and drinks has to be warm. We had to wait until January to get insurance for her. So please everyone Avoid this place all they want is your money. Also they gave meds and she didn't even need it. Now she's fine and nothing wrong doesn't even throw up and a very happy dog it's unbelievable some place can do this to a dog and to owners of a dog. They took advantage of us and we will not go to lawyers but just want everyone to avoid this place and hope it goes under and out of business.

Kind and professional even when they were very busy. They communicated clearly about policies throughout the pandemic. I always felt in the know. Honestly though, my favorite feature of this business is how clear billing is. I've had other clinics that couldn't give me a line breakdown of a bill that felt too high, or a vet that offered me a service that sounded free (checking my grogs ears) only to get a $35 charge.
This vet is not like that. They tell me pricing as we go and I always feel recommendations are because my dog needs them. I clearly found them after some bad experiences elsewhere, and plan to stay with them for life. So happy with them

We switched from Banfield over a year ago and have been very happy with the service and care from the employees here, HOWEVER it would be GREAT if anyone dealing with the animals stopped wearing perfume. More than once my dog has come home from a short visit, smelling like a whole perfume counter, so I can't even stand to be near her, let alone pet her, for hours after she gets home.

Caring vets and staff. Great with nervous animals. Very communicative: the veterinarian called both before and after the procedure and answered my questions. The vet tech took a great deal of time to explain the doctor's notes and after care instructions. I have heard that this practice was more expensive than others in the area. I don't know if this true or not.
I've been so happy with them that I haven't looked at any other practice. If they are more expensive than average, then I hope that it's because they pay the support staff well. I can't say enough nice things about about the veterinarians, vet techs and people who work the front desk. Awesome, awesome group of people.

Very disappointing to say the least. They are more interested in making money off of you than the well being of your pet. After getting the results from a very reputable Vet Hospital stating what the possible diagnosis could be they decided to run a test which was dollars short of $1000, then tell me that my pet needed to be tested for what we thought anyway.
The first test was $900 and needed to be tested two weeks later which was another $400. After the last test I got a voicemail telling me that although the levels were in the normal range there was something "FUNKY" and needed to retest in two weeks which would of cost another $400. When asked what "funky" meant the tech couldn't explain it! After researching what my pet had and was told by the people at Shawsheen that they had never seen anything like this, I found that it was a very "COMMON" thing and that there were many things you could do to help alleviate the animals pain.
Every time I called to ask a question the response was let me ask the Dr. and get back to you. Every single time they called me back it was to say that this would work better and would cost another $190. Simple questions as to medication interaction because I was new to this. We had to call and ask for pain medication and ask what would work best.
Never once did they call to see how our pet was doing. Only to keep scheduling more appointments that were always costly! In my opinion Shawsheen Animal Hospital is more interested in ripping the pet owner off and taking advantage of those that love our pets and would do anything to help them rather than getting to the nitty gritty of what is best for the pet.
Since rebuilding their hospital I feel that they are ripping the pet owner off to pay for their debt. I ended up going here because my vet of many years retired and this was close by to where I lived. Unfortunately, it was the biggest mistake of our lives! Please do your due diligence when looking for a vet for your beloved pet! In response to the answer, given by Shawsheen. never once was I presented with "MULTIPLE OPTIONS" nor payment options.

I took my dog here as I needed to come in with him as he is nervous at the vets (during Covid most vets not allowing owners in). I was super impressed with how my dog was handled and cared for. They did not take him out of the room to do various things to him and they had a calming plug-in in the room which seemed to relax him somewhat. My dog is a very confident boy except at the vets.
They offered choices of what I could do and how much extra the options cost, and what they would recommend. I would highly recommend this vets to anyone looking for a caring practice for their pet.

So happy I took my kitty to Shawsheen Animal Hospital. Great staff, very friendly and doctor was great at explaining treatment and actually treating my cat. I was taking him to Bandfield at Petsmart and they were not good at all. Happy I got a flyer in the mail about Shawsheen because it's actually closer to my house and makes me feel better about taking my cat somewhere they actually know what they're doing.
