Our facility is 5000 square feet of indoor, climate controlled space set on 2 acres. Our play room/training floor is fully matted with 3/8 inch thick rubber for traction and shock absorption. All of our daycare staff are not only avid animal lovers, but are also trained in canine body language and social interactions to maintain a safe (and fun!) play time for every guest.
We support continuing education by sending staff to pet behavior and health seminars annually and have each staff member complete the Knowing Dogs program developed by The Dog Gurus.

Services
Your dog will spend the day playing & socializing with other dogs which will strengthen their social skills and make them an overall happier dog! Our large indoor and outdoor facility provides lots of space for your dog to play & relax. Our staff is trained to provide quality supervision for your dog while they spend the day with us.
At the Good Dog Spot we offer a variety of ways to meet the needs of our clients. Our trainer, Marilyn Marks, has over 30 years of experience training owners to communicate with their dogs with clarity and kindness; her positive training techniques will give you skills for a lifetime of success with your dog.
Play is supervised by staff, dogs are selected based on ability to socialize appropriately, and indoor and outdoor play areas provide a place to play no matter the weather. Owners stay while dogs play! To join us please bring proof of rabies, distemper/parvo and bordatella. If you are wondering about your dog's potential compatibility, please call first (860-243-5500). The play group supervisor has the right (and responsibility!) to refuse access to any dog at any time during the hour.
Grooming is available by appointment only on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Pets should be dropped off no later than 9:30 AM. Pick up times will be advised by the groomer. If you have special time requirements please let us know at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate. Cara. A There's no misunderstanding about " prepaid policy or new/old groomer, ok i book appointment and cancel but I made a courtesy call. one of my dogs had diarrhea and also it was " raining cats and dog " so I'm Not taking my pets outside. What really ruffled my feathers is Lauren I'm explaining and she said that neither here nor there prepayment is need to book appointment, and my thoughts are I don't being " polite " read between the lines mess with her man don't mess around with my dogs.
Because at the end of the day my dogs still leave your establishment with skin tags, nails bleeding, ohh and also you guys gave my dog Kyle an anal bleed. THIS IS THE TRUTH THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.and I'm FINISHED with the bad dog spot. u got the right one baby!

I love The Good Dog spot. I have had my dog groomed there for years now w Emily. We continue to get wonderful compliments every time our baby is spruced up. She goes daily for doggy daycare and is well loved by the staff. I used to use a different groomer, but since Emily has been there, we began using her. I was surprised to see a negative review for such an outstanding groomer who genuinely cares about our dog, and other dogs she comes into contact as well.

I was very worried about bringing my three dogs anywhere because they haven't had much experience around other dogs, however my worries quickly diminished after bringing them to the good dog spot. The staff was wonderful and my dogs LOVED it! When I went to pick them up they were so happy to be there and didn't even want to come home. I would highly recommend The Good Dog Spot to anyone.

Totally agree with the previous reviewer. My dog is not high energy, but he is "high maintenance" in that he is shy and fearful and can be aggressive when he feels threatened. They are SO good with him here. He comes home happy and relaxed and tired. I have "interviewed" my dog at many of the daycare/boarding places in the area, but the Good Dog Spot and the Dog Cabin in Middletown are the only places I feel comfortable leaving him.

We have been trying different places in the area for doggie day care and boarding our high energy dog and after leaving our dog for boarding multiple times I am very happy. The staff are extremely experienced with dogs, including high maintenance dogs (and I am not talking grooming maintenance). They keep the dogs in line, make them sit before going in or out a gate, and always seem to be in control (pack leaders).
A huge plus for me on the boarding is the dogs get to run around and play with each other on the weekends rather then just getting let out for a couple of potty breaks a day. This place makes dogs happy!
