Blue Ribbon Boarding Kennels was founded by Victoria Overton over 40 years ago. With the same passion for animals as the day that she opened the doors, she along with her daughters work hard to make sure your pets are well taken care of, whether your pets are being boarded, groomed, playing in daycare or utilizing our new Downback private dog park. Our entire staff takes great pride in the business we have built and the service we provide to your furry friends.
Services
We take great pride in doing a very thorough job on each pet. Every pet is completely combed out, has nails clipped and/or dremeled, ears cleaned, anal glands expressed, then bathed with top of the line shampoos, and conditioners, followed by fur being blown out and dried, then if needed, clipped and scissored to perfection.
When boarding in our kennel our individual runs inside are 3'x 10' ft. Each dog is given their own run, unless you have multiple dogs that you would want to board together. At least 3 to 4 times a day the dogs are individually let outside to a 20' x 80'ft exercise area (half sun & half shade). While they are outside their kennel is cleaned, water changed if necessary, fed, etc.
Times, they are a changing. With everyone in the house off to school and work now a days, who is home and has the time to let out, feed, water, and exercise the pup? Here at BRBK we prepare each pup to enter the appropriate group to which they can have the time of their lives. Our clients have been pleased with the results of having a very tired, yet more socialized pup. Everyone is happier, and when you are both tired from a long day at work, it's nice to know your pup is tired as well.
We require Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella. We ask that you please receive these vaccinations at least 14 days prior to boarding your dog with us. The Canine Influenza Vaccine is not required, but we recommend consulting with your veterinarian to determine if your dog would benefit from being vaccinated based on their individual needs.

Leaving your pet in the hands of someone else is never an easy thing to do. BRBK has gained my trust through great ownership, staff, and their large open-air facility. Your pet is in great hand with people who know animals. Every time pick my dog up, he is asleep within minutes on the way home. 5 stars!

The owners of Blue Ribbon have never been friendly but their staff has always been lovely and for those reasons I kept my dog there for 2 years. A recent incident where a staff member returning my dog home didn't follow usual protocol, led to a misunderstanding which was poorly handled by the owners. Who are not accessible in the event there is an issue/emergency.
They decided to kick my dog out of their facility due to this incident via text message not even a phone call. My dog has always gotten daily verbal praise and I was told she is a good dog. They said she is a risk to their facility and no longer welcome over this incident. The owner did not pick up the phone to talk to me and unprofessionally texted versus having a conversation.
I called their facility requesting a call to discuss. Once again they continue more texting instead of a professional conversation to come to a resolution. On my final attempt at calling Jessy picked up the phone. Jessy wasn't interested in having a conversation she began screaming, yelling profanities became completely unhinged and was unreasonable to deal with.
During our conversation she also twisted words and lied. I do not recommend this facility because they are unable to handle misunderstanding caused on their end without having any reasonable response. In the event this was more serious I don't believe they would have the capacity to be professional or responsible and would put your animals at risk. For those reasons I don't suggest this facility.

We have left our puppy here twice when we've gone on vacation. He has a chronic medical condition, so we were extremely worried about leaving him, but the staff went out of their way to accommodate his needs. They had no problem with us calling to check on him as many times as we wanted and when an issue came up, they called us immediately. In addition, I really felt that they cared for our dog beyond the essentials. I never thought I could feel so comfortable leaving him, but we would never take him anywhere else.

My beautiful St. Bernard Petunia attended BRBK "puppy camp" (daycare) twice a week and she loved every minute it of it. All of the staff took such wonderful care of her and treated her with love and respect. My girl was quite a handful at times and the staff took it in stride. She boarded there many many times and they were amazing about fitting her in on a couple of occasions when we had medical emergencies. BRBK has reasonable prices and offers a special daycare package that gives you 12 days for the price of 10.
They fed her the food I'd bring as she had allergies. I never once had her returned to me smelling of urine as a previous reviewer stated. This is a wonderful, loving, and caring environment. My husband and I lost our sweet baby girl to bone cancer 2 weeks ago. We are so thankful for all the fun and joy and playtime that was provided to her at BRBK.
It was, without a doubt, her favorite thing to do every week. When the time comes we will take our next dog there too. Please do not listen to the negative reviews and try BRBK! You will not be sorry. Thank you to all of the staff and the owner.

My dog was attacked at a puppy and was very timid around other dogs, Blue Ribbon was fantastic at introducing him to other dogs and now he loves to run and play with them. Daycare has been a lifesaver with the amount of excess energy my dog has. We board Toby here on vacations and he loves it. Toby is always so excited when we pull into the parking lot which is reassuring for me. I highly recommend them.

Conflicting information was given by 4 different people at this place. It stinks of urine in the fenced in areas so the dogs are going to come home smelling like it. The owner is very pushy and talks over you. The staff is extremely nice however. They charge twice as much as up to date facilities. This facility has been around a long time and needs seriously updating and to try to keep up with the times. You might want to treat customers like the Alpha if you want new clients Instead of leaving them pushy voicemails.
