So many of these online courses take hours and hours to complete. We are excited and have the best intentions when we sign up but then life gets busy and we have a hard time restarting where we left. This fun and interactive 6 week dog training session introduces the basic skills required to live with your dog, as well as discussions on how dogs learn and how we inadvertently reward or train inappropriate behaviors. Class meets for 60 mins for 6 consecutive weeks and includes the Personable Pets Dog Training Basics workbook and a Life Skills challenge on week 6!
During this 6 week class we will focus on the 3 D's - Distance, Duration and Distractions. We will also dust off Leave It alley, add in some new cues, and offer up new weekly real life challenges. Yes, let's go beyond the basics! Group classes can often be overwhelming to aggressive or reactive dogs.
Pet Therapy work can be very fulfilling. It is a great way to give back to the community while hanging out with your dog. If you and your dog enjoy interacting with people, then this just may be the perfect volunteer opportunity for the two of you. Pet Therapy volunteers might visit local hospitals, nursing homes, shelters for domestic violence, mental health programs, and treatment centers for youth, just to name a few.
Combine human parkour and dog agility and you have Parkour for Dogs. Teach your dog to get on, jump off, go over, balance, go under, through, and around, with no special equipment required. Turn your boring walks into dog parkour training sessions. Teaching your dog to pay more attention to you and requiring you to pay more attention to them.

We would strongly recommend Personable Pets. Our 7 month old, Maremma/Aussie mix pup has been a client in the puppy privates class for a few months and we have seen a remarkable change in his behavior and level of obedience. We saw a difference, literally, after the first visit from our trainer, Christiana. She is amazing. Her ability to see and catch the slightest nuances from our puppy and teach us how to fix them with positive coaching is remarkable.
Her gentle demeanor is a key part of her calm presence with our dog and he responds so quickly to her commands. We actually have a multi dog family and she has taught all three dogs how to live in, much needed, harmony. (This is something we never thought possible.) We would recommend Christiana and Personable Pets to anyone desiring results. Our puppy is becoming exactly what we hoped he would become when we brought him home to be a part of our family. Sharon and Dakota helped us wit our new puppy Renegade. We weren't used to a high energy puppy compared to our other more chill dog. They helped us understand how to motivate Renegade and how to interpret what she needs based on the "doggy cues" she was giving us. We were able to create a structure for her and now she's a part of the family. They did a good job training US, lol!

We're on our third dog using Personable Pets for training and it's always an amazing experience. Enjoyable for people and dogs, super helpful and we all learn lots of positive ways to have a great dog in the house and on a leash out in public. No harsh methods, I can't say enough good things about the fantastic training they provide. Highly recommended for puppies as well as older dogs like ours that we adopted as an adult.

We have purchased a second lab for our home, to be a service dog for our daughter. Getting him through the puppy stage has been VERY challenging. Sharon has been able to break it down step by step to help us not only get his energy level balanced, but to make him into a "thinking" dog, and not only a pet. We just finished our basics class and have signed up for the beyond basics class with Personable Pets. We loved the class and especially our teacher, Sharon. She is an awesome trainer and available fir questions when they come up. She does a fantastic job in educating pet owners and enabling them to train their dogs with patience and clear advice. I would highly recommend Personable Pets to anyone looking for a fun and energetic trainer that delivers results!
