We provide behavioral assistance, or rescue and place needy Chesapeake Bay Retrievers of all ages. We are a father-daughter team that has been involved with Safe Harbor for years and operate the rescue out of our home in Amherst, MA. Our fifteen year relationship with Safe Harbor began with our participation in the transportation of rescued Chessies and led to our adoption of multiple dogs from Jane over the years. The very nature of a chessie causes most to struggle in the ordinary shelter environment; thus it is not a safe place for the majority of chessies.

We are a father-daughter team who have been involved with CSH while it was under the guidance of founder Jane Peabody for over fifteen years. When Jane was looking to retire we felt strongly about keeping the wonderful work of CSH going. As a result we moved the rescue to our home in western Massachusetts.
We care for and equip every Chessie that comes through our doors. Our day to day needs don't present too many problems for us, by using existing supplies, or restocking when items get low. Collars & Leads are generously donated by Max & Neo Check out their excellent 'BODO' program. Bequests from Foundations or Wills, or any donations from generous patrons, multiply the number of Chessies that we can assist. They also server to boost our energy and bolster our belief in the kindness & decency of human beings :.
We read every application that comes in and should respond to you within 10 business days. Our adoption fees includes medical examinations, spay or neuter, vaccines and microchips for all dogs. Once you adopt from us you become part of the CSH family which means we are here to support you and your new Chessie with any comments, questions or concerns.
Still not working.? Ignore the photo attachment & type your responses, instead of using auto-fill. I have requested or accepted an offer of dog training assistance from Chesapeake Safe Harbor & Pitbull Safe Harbor, Inc., a Massachusetts nonprofit corporation, Roger Booth and/or Gabriella Booth, both individuals residing in Massachusetts (all collectively the "Released Parties" and each a "Released Party"). I understand that dogs vary in their temperaments, and that some dogs are easier to train and manage than others.

I was told over the phone yesterday you folks don't work on older bikes? I have a '79 xs650 with some electrical issues. I was told if you guys actually were to look at it would have to be dropped off in the winter and be "slowly chipped away at." As someone who has come to Valley Motorsports for many years (including buying a new KX250 in 2006) I was really surprised by this response. I have had a truly pleasurable experience every time I have done business with you folks. So it was just surprising the response I got yesterday.

I can't thank Roger enough! Roger reached out to me after a social media plea about my increasingly aggressive dog. In an hour, he had pretty much captured everything we were going through and put it all into perspective from a canine brain. He then gave us an excellent foundation of things to try to reestablish boundaries with our furry family member. The improvements were almost instantaneous when we put Roger's methods into practice.
