AAH has been taking care of my pets for years, 20+ to be exact. Since I was a little girl, this facility has kept my animals safe and healthy. I am forever grateful for the staff here.

Had our cat chipped, claws trimmed, and annual shots. Also informed us of gum issue. Very thorough and have implemented COVID protocol so you can wait in car and receive a text when it's your turn to come in.

Have been here multiple times over the past 5 years. I missed an appointment for the first time and they sent me a $50 invoice for not canceling at least 24hrs before. Impossible to speak with anyone on the phone everything is online forms. We won't be using their services any more. Is the $50 really worth losing a client?

I LOVE Ardmore Animal Hospital! Nothing makes my tail wag as much as seeing Dr. Peters and the nice technicians (and the treats they give me)! I know that I am well cared for, and I leap from the car with joy whenever we go there!

I cannot recommend Ardmore Animal Hospital enough. We've had 3 pets seen there now and they have always been helpful, compassionate, and understanding. They have answered my wild questions, always given great advice, and were honest and transparent about what they do and suggest. Would not trust our pets with anyone else.

Ardmore Animal Hospital provided excellent care to my dog and the vet had helpful information for my pet in his senior years. She informed of the products available for his flea/tick maintenance. It would be helpful to provide payment information prior to the appointment. The amount was higher than I expected, but other than this, the place is a great place to take your animal for their medical needs.

Our 5yr old German Shepherd had an acute weight loss. The front desk staff was attentive to get our girl in to be seen asap. So far testing has been negative. Everything was explained in detail so that we understood the results and the plan. We have used Ardmore Animal Hospital for over 30 years.

We recently moved to Ardmore, and decided to use this place as our cat's new vet. We are not going back. Our cat Lincoln was quite old, and over the past year or so we had noticed he was drinking a lot more, eating less, and was increasingly lethargic. We expressed these concerns to the technician when we brought Lincoln in for his annual checkup.

The hospital's evaluation found that he had lost a couple of pounds but was otherwise in fine health. A stool test performed by the hospital was inconclusive. Sixteen days later, we woke and found Lincoln in obvious pain, straining to urinate, and peeing on the floor, which was something he didn't do. The Ardmore Animal Hospital couldn't initially see him, and then gave away an emergency appointment to someone else.

We took him to BluePearl Specialty emergency pet hospital instead. BluePearl immediately diagnosed Lincoln with a massive bladder tumor that had completely blocked his ability to urinate. And without any reasonable treatment options, we had our pet cat put down about an hour later. I don't blame the Ardmore Animal Hospital for the cat's death. A bladder tumor is not something a cat is going to survive.

But what is upsetting is that because I believe they failed to catch this tumor, we couldn't prepare the children for their pets passing. It was shocking to us and devastating to them.

I am so appreciative of the care they give my fur baby Annie. She just had a very difficult dental done and the doctors, technicians and office staff were amazing. I cannot say enough about how caring the staff at Ardmore is. They truly love our fur babies. Annie was a high risk dental and I am glad I took that risk knowing she was in the care of amazing people. Thank you Ardmore Animal Hospital!

I was a little nervous about leaving Pepper. He had not been away from me other than during day. FROM the moment we walked in the door I felt he would be ok. Everyone was warm and you can tell they are people who love animals. While I was away it was noticed he was having a little issue and took care of him. I lost 2 of my babies and Oepper is my last ao I am very protective of my 11 year old. I recommend Ardmore Veterinary to all who are in need of good care for their fur baby.

I've used Ardmore Animal Hospital for the last fifteen years and have been happy with the care that all three of my dogs received during that time. Over the years, I've likely had an appointment with every vet and they are all knowledgeable, professional, and caring.

We've taken our dogs here for seven years. Largely, we've been satisfied with the care we've received; however, we have occasionally supplemented their care with Penn Vet when we didn't think Ardmore's recommendations were well informed. When we first started taking our pets here, we had an excellent vet, but he soon left the practice.

Since then we've had at least 5 vets, so there's almost no continuity of care! Our only other experience with vets in the area is Penn Vet, and we would choose this as our primary vet if the wait time there were more reliably reasonable. I think the prices here are quite above average. An annual well visit was about $425/dog. It can be more depending on the timing of vaccinations. With the exception of continuity of care and cost, we've been fairly satisfied. And, they've always been good to the dogs!

We had to put our 7 year old sweet cat down this past weekend due to a possible congenital kidney issue that this practice never caught. A simple blood test would have possibly caught it earlier and he could have had treatment to extend his life. I was always told the $300 blood work wasn't deemed necessary because he always "looked great ". Now I am concerned about my 13 year old dog and other cat.

To add insult to injury, when I called and told the receptionist that we lost our cat over the weekend and I needed all the medical records, the only response I got was "do you want them emailed?" No "I'm sorry" or anything resembling compassion. Stay away from this place if you love your pets and consider them family. This place does not and it operates as a money making business, not a healing facility. Disgusting.

Over 15 years of my experience, all staff at this veterinary establishment are/ were competent, friendly and totally focused on my my two cats' health. Let's face it, if you want a pet, you need to budget for good health care. At Ardmore Animal Hospital, you get the best care at a fair price. Highly recommended!

Do not bring your fur babies here. They have no idea what they are doing. Just look at the reviews from this year alone. They need to shut down or find new compassionate workers.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Do not bring your pets here if you want them thoroughly and compassionately cared for. I had to put down my sweet 7 year old cat this past weekend due to a chronic kidney issue this poor baby had possibly since birth. When I called and explained this to the receptionist and asked for their medical records, all I got was "ok, do you want them emailed to you?" I've been going there with all my pets for 13 years!

I am terribly concerned about the health of my other two pets now that this has happened. I can't get over the coldness and disrespect to the fact that our pets are family members. This place should be shut down.

I have had wonderful experiences here and am so thankful for the wisdom of my primary veterinarian, Dr. Christine Seelaus, and one of her colleagues, Dr. Janine Gillin. The care has been superb and compassionate. I also want to commend the administrative staff for their patience, professionalism, and for preparing notices, etc., that are highly polished (no grammatical and/or spelling errors). My only regret is that I didn't start coming sooner with my cat.

I have been taking my two cats to Ardmore Animal Hospital for few years now and we have been provided excellent service! I find the staff very professional and empathetic. Both my cats had invasive oral surgery at the hospital and I was provided detailed information about the procedure, the impact on the cats during and after the surgery, and the staff did their best to assuage my anxiety.

I have been a client since the later 80's. They have been invaluable to me, helping me care for my beloved doggies. They care and it's obvious EVERY time you call on them. All my dogs LOVE going there which is a great comfort and makes things so much easier. The BEST, simply a fact.

AVOID. Yes. Robbery, as some other reviews have stated. This review is for Radnor Veterinary Hospital. Owner and Practice are money driven versus compassion for the animal and you. I used to go here loyally years ago to their original, smaller (and more welcoming/intimate) location. But since they've moved to a fancier location across the street, the compassion has changed dramatically. It's very much about the money now.

Recently I had a house rabbit with a chronic bacterial ear infection. She was not improving with the first Vet, who did not specialize in Exotics. I brought her here for a second opinion, with *ambivalence, due to negative past (owner) experiences or their 'money over animal' style. I needed a 2nd opinion from an Exotics vet. Again, I returned to Radnor for the SOLE benefit of my sick house bunny.

I was scared for her, as she was not improving. I just wanted her to get well. Long story short, she needed a CT scan. Bunnies can often perish from anesthesia, so I learned that a different hospital in Mt Laurel, NJ had a special attachment to their CT scan that would eliminate the need for anesthesia. Because I went to this other facility totally out of concern and love for my House rabbit, owner 'banned' me.in an actual email to tell me not to come back! Choose another Exotics vet. There are multiple other excellent choices for probably LESS money. Good luck.

If I could give this vet a minus one or more I would do so. When Dr. Bianco was There he was amazing with our two dogs he left and we have had nothing but a horrific and horrendous experience and have changed vets, run as fast as you can From them. I I had a sick dog and they told me to take him to the hospital at Penn, I said well I just need you to look at him he has a very bad cough and they said sorry we can't fit them in for almost 90 days a day gurl very rude girl at desk. Narberth animal hospital fit him in the same day and were amazing, compassionate turned out our dog had a heart murmur.

The people at Ardmore are rude and the doctors are snappy and nasty and they overcharged us for our other dog by $600 to get shots and bloodwork and I didn't really understand but I thought it was a bit high until I went to Narberth and it was half the amount of money, do not use this vet they don't care about your pets they don't care if your pet dies or is ill.

I used to respect and love this vet. Last night my 8 year old lost a tooth and has been mopey and licking. I brought her in for dental expecting that they would Xray or do blood labs in prep for a dental, and all they did was charge me $91.00 and tell me that she lost a tooth! They gave me a phone number of a dentist, that is booking two months out for cleaning. I would have felt better going through a dark alley and being robbed at gunpoint. My dog is still mopey and licky and my wallet is empty.

My family has taken our dog here for 17 years, his entire life. In the more recent years, AAH has become more concerned about making a profit and less compassionate towards our dog. I understand the need to make a profit, but at the same time, the staff should not be working at a veterinarian hospital, if they cannot be compassionate towards the pets and their families.

Our blind and deaf dog needed an appointment ASAP, but not only were they uncommunicative about making an appointment, we had to wait a couple months for an appointment to open up. I understand it being a difficult time with Covid, but with a disabled, senior dog that was going there for 17.5 years, one would think they would prioritize differently.

After his appointment scheduling, they wanted us to bring him for another appointment for unnecessary blood work. This was unnecessary as he was 17 years old (was going to pass away in a couple months anyway), but also, he hated going in the car due to him being blind and deaf. We found it concerning that they could not understand this, and that they were just trying to milk our money.

When a family has to make the difficult decision to put down a family pet that has been with them for 17 years, of course, they would all want to be with their pet in his last moments. However, apparently (according to the staff), they only allow two people in the room with the pet as he or she is put down. When it was time to put down our family dog, we went to a different vet (who were not only more compassionate, but also let us all be in the more with our beloved dog).

In addition, the other vet hospital gave us a free plaque with our dogs paw and name in memoriam. We thought this was so kind and a lot of vet places do this, but not AAH. Recently we got a sympathy card in the mail from AAH about our dog (which we appreciated), and they spelled his name wrong :/. He went there for 17 years, but they couldn't even verify on his records that his name was spelled correctly on the card. Frankly, after 17.5 years, we are hugely disappointed with AAH.

We will not ever again bring any of our pets there, and will never ever recommend the place to anyone. Not only was this place not compassionate towards our blind, deaf senior dog, they consistently tried to milk our money after us being with them for several years. We recommend that AAH re-examine their current priorities as an animal hospital.

Beware! Save your hard earned money and dont go here when you can spend 75% less down the street. I followed Doctor Peter's here because he is the best! However, they schedule me with random vets eventhough I mention Doctor Peter's is my vet. Plenty of smiles and lip service but that's probably because they know how ridiculously high priced they are.

I went in for my annual canine visit which included all her shots and tests. I was quoted 400 dollars which i thought was high but I was already there.it really cost over $600. Others would have charged $200. Also got the fulll court press to buy their annual plan.once I read it when I got home I called them to cancel it which they did and charged me anyway. Robbery?

If I could have given a lesser review I would have! We hired Brie a technician at AAH to stay overnight in our home with our cat over the holidays. I left specific instructions and times to feed and a lovely room for her to stay in. Just a few ground rules, such as your boyfriend can't stay over ignored. The times to feed our cat, ignored. Hang out with him a little while as he eats, ignored.

The amount to feed our cat ignored! Our cat is on a medically prescribed diet and is supposed to eat 4 cans of the food per day. We came early because we could hear the cat crying via our ring door bell, it was so upsetting. But we were also able to see times Brie entered the house and left. Lastly, I left out the exact number of cans our cat needed to eat. Brie only fed him 4 cans of the 12 she should have! Cruelty beyond belief!

I have the photos to prove it! I texted Brie to check and she responded " I am an animal technician and will let you know if there are any problems"! Well, I don't care what you are, I am paying you to stay in my home and care for my cat, provide updates! Ardmore Animal Hospital recommended Brie, she is after all one of their employees, to stay in our home to care for our cat she is a monster. I cannot stress strongly enough to avoid this place at all costs!

We have been clients of Ardmore for 16 years. We were just dismissed by their office manager for an appointment issue. I asked for my pets records which they copied promptly but they were going to release Waldo's to a new vet but Waldo had passed and they performed the procedure. When I tried to point out the error I was interrupted. When I asked. not to be interrupted my husband and I were told to leave.

This office was recently sold to new management, all their previous vets have left for "other" opportunities and they scheduling practices leave a lot to be desired. Two families which I recommended also recently left for other practices. I have recommended them my other clients but that will be no more. I will also discuss my experience here today with my other clients and recommend they find other facilities

Top-notch animal care in the lower Merion area. We spent an entire day talking about our experience in a positive light every single time we leave Ardmore animal Hospital. The staff there and the professional staff of veterinarians are so sweet to us and our little cat. I wouldn't trust any other vet with the care of our calico.

This is my trusted Veterinary hospital. I referred a family member who actually switched and experienced the difference for themselves. From the friendly, caring and professional staff to the extraordinary veterinarians, my experiences have all been great. I rescued a precious, senior, miniature poodle who had serious health issues from CHF to dental disease. Ardmore Vet worked through her issues and helped me provide her a wonderful 3 years of quality life.

We recently had our sweet family shit zu fall gravely ill to Lymes disease etc. He belonged to another local veterinary hospital but his owner made the switch to Ardmore and they aided us through a tough time. They are honest, respectful of budgets and tailor intensive health plans that are right for you and your beloved pet. They have health care plans now with a yearly fee that cover all the basics so that your babies can stay healthy. I can't say enough good things about this hospital.

Recently had to take our cat to Ardmore Animal hospital for one of our first vet trips. If you are not experienced in what to expect from a trip to the vet, please be aware that this place will not hesitate to take advantage of your trust and your wallet. I recently found out that they receive commission on surgeries performed, and it motivated me to write this review.

The commission factor explains why thousands of dollars in surgeries (or putting our 3 year old cat down) was recommended instead of the $50 prescription food option that we were able to find with a quick Google search. The fact that $ is more important than your animal's well-being will keep me from ever returning to this place of business. Additionally, they either are not aware of standard pricing for surgeries or enjoy playing dumb so that you do not have the appropriate information. A few quick phone calls to the surrounding area vets and we quickly found that they mark up surgery by at least 50% (did I mention it sounds like they get commission?).

We took our cat here after he was urinating in places other than his litter box. Vet could not figure out what was wrong and told us it was stress related and still charged us an arm and a leg for the visit. A few weeks passed and we still thought something wasn't quite right with our cat. We noticed his urine was now starting to become bloody.

We then took him back to the same vet and they took an X-ray and found bladder stones. We were told the only cure was a bladder surgery that we would've had to have sold our house, car, and souls to afford. We were also told that this is the cheapest we could do this procedure for and we shouldn't bother with a second opinion. Unfortunately we could not find a way to get that amount of cash and decided we were going to put the cat down so he was no longer suffering.

After a few days we called the vet back and told them we were going to put the cat down. The vet then reluctantly offered a piece of information that he seemed to be withholding when a multi-thousand dollar surgery + commission was on the table. It was simply change his diet to a prescription wet food that would break up the bladder stones. After being on the diet for 3-4 days our cat was back to being happy and healthy again. Doing some simple math, the diet change was THREE HUNDRED times cheaper than surgery and more effective.

To say I am upset with Ardmore Animal Hospital is an understatement. They improperly diagnosed bladder stones as stress the three weeks later held us at gunpoint for surgery on said bladder stones. I will never bring an animal back to this facility and am extremely disappointed with the integrity of the vets here. P.S. We ended up calling other places to quote the same surgery and it was 25-50% cheaper than here.

They are great with our two very nervous rescue dogs, and we have found everyone there to be professional, kind and great about follow up. I have seen a number of negative comments about price, but we have found them to be both transparent about costs and also very open about what is necessary versus what we might want to consider and why. Our experience with this vet clinic has been nothing but positive.

I took my cat there a few months ago for a cough/sneeze issue & they were great, gave me meds for him, general exam, everyone was awesome. Took him back last week & was told to go to building C, where I'd never been & as I was walking up to the wrong door, a woman ran past me up the stairs, ran in the door, slammed the door in my face & yanked the. shade down. Furious but still keeping my cat the priority, I found the correct door. Picking up his meds on Monday, I explained to the wonderful receptionist Kim what happened, told her I'd be taking my business elsewhere & she told me the practice manager would call me.

Here it's Wednesday, still no call & when I called them, Kim told me that the manager said it's fine to send me my cat's records. Without a single inquiry as to why they're losing a client. I'll never recommend this place to anyone because I have a pretty good feeling that the woman who acted like a 5 year old is, in fact, the practice manager.

We have been patients of AAH since 1998. 8 pets over the years. All the docs are wonderful!

Aug 08, 2017
Our 2 cats were patients here for approximately 5 years. Their prices are INSANE and, considering the docs get paid a commission, they aren't conservative when suggesting treatments. One of our kitties needed fluid injections each week to help his chronic kidney issues. Instead of taking him in for a technician to do it, we purchased the supplies from them and did it at home.

After switching to a new practice and comparing the cost of the fluids, IV line, and needles, we were being charged 3x more for the same items at AAH. They also never seem to look back at a patient's chart to review what has been done in past visits. Took my other kitty in for a dental cleaning and to have a growth in her mouth removed. They sent a sample of the tissue out for pathology and it was thankfully not cancerous. Took her back in for another cleaning the next year and a different doctor (who took no efforts to review her records) had another sample taken from the remnants of the growth and wanted us to spend another several hundred dollars to have the same test re-run.

When I informed him of what was done previously (you don't forget spending that much money!) he agreed that it didn't need to be rechecked. They also had no recollection of the teeth that they had extracted during the previous cleaning, reporting instead that several had just "fallen out". I don't expect the docs to remember each patient's full history year to year, but a quick flip through their chart would be appreciated. Save your cash and find a different vet!

Ardmore Animal Hospital is located in a pleasant Victorian house on Athens Avenue in the heart of Ardmore. I have used their facilities several times for general checkups and vaccinations for my yellow tabby. Each time we were fortunate to be seen by the lovely Dr. Montgomery, who was thorough, caring and compassionate. This review has nothing to do with her or with the fine staff at Ardmore Animal Hospital.

Twice after taking my cat in for a diagnosis, surgery was recommended. In both cases, I was able to have the surgery performed FOR SIGNIFICANTLY LESS THAN HALF THE AMOUNT quoted by Ardmore Animal Hospital, and I eventually selected Caring for Cats in Manayunk as my primary care veterinarian. Unfortunately, he passed away in May of 2016 after suffering a series of strokes.

He was a beloved member of our family for over 16 years. If you're reading this review, you no doubt have a pet and know how much they mean to us. I notified Ardmore Animal Hospital of his passing when I received the first email, alerting me to the need for me to schedule his checkup. I notified their office again when I received the first of three postcards (unfortunately bearing the image of a kitten who looked like a kitten version of my boy). Still, I am receiving their marketing communications.

I then wrote directly to Dr. James Bianco, the owner of Ardmore Animal Hospital. And, of course, no response whatsoever - only another postcard letting me know that my cat needed a checkup. When my cat passed away under hospice care, I received a beautiful card from the doctors at Caring for Cats, as well as one from the hospice vet, and a note from his previous vet, who has moved out of the region.

But from Ardmore Animal Hospital I get tasteless reminders that our beloved cat is no longer with us. Clearly all about the money. Bad bad business. I'm a marketer myself and it occurs to me that they should fire their expensive marketing company. Especially since, judging from their exorbitant rates, they could lower their prices if they weren't overspending on marketing. This veterinarian is outrageously overpriced. You can find comparable care for far less elsewhere. If you have a cat, I highly recommend Caring For Cats.

I haven't taken my cats to the vet in awhile as the last experience I had was so stressful for me and my cat. At home they are the most wonderful cats, they love everyone. However, when I took my cat to the vet a couple years ago for a check up he was insane. I've never seen anything like it. The vet only made things worse. At the time I thought it was just my cat, that nothing could be done about it.

I have avoided the vet as I didn't want to cause them that stress again. I recently took my other cat to the Ardmore Animal Hospital and they were so great with her. They let her get acclimated with the room first and settle in before touching her. They had Kevlar gloves which with her you need as she is quite strong. They were able to examine her and get her somewhat calmed down.

I was thoroughly impressed. Everyone there was so nice and they really took their time to allow my cat to get used to the room rather than dumping her on the examine table right off the bat. They were also great at talking me through what I needed to do for her and wrote down additional information. If you have cats like mine who are not fans of the vet (which I imagine is the norm) I would highly recommend taking them to Ardmore Animal Hospital.

I will be taking both my cats for their future check ups. One negative I had was the price of the visit. It was $85 which I was not expecting at all. However, given how much time they spent speaking with me and the care they took with my cat, I would gladly pay that again so they have a better experience as opposed to somewhere cheaper that will just stress them out completely.
