At Canoe Ridge Kennels, we promise to treat your pets with loving care, just as if they were our own. Please make summer and holiday reservations as early as possible. Email reservation requests are accepted, but not guaranteed until you receive a confirmation by return email. Please provide us with a copy of your pet's vaccine record. You may contact us by email at crk@netins.net or by fax at 563-382-6310. You will be unable to check-in without up to date vaccines. Please contact your veterinarian to make sure that your vaccines are current.

Since 2003, Canoe Ridge Kennels has provided reliable and honest pet care and pet grooming services for busy residents from northeast Iowa and southern Minnesota. As pet owners, we understand how pets change our lives and are a part of the home. That is why we provide such loving care - we know your pets mean the world to you. We thank you for trusting us. Nearly 6,000 pets have called Canoe Ridge their home away from home.
At our canine pub, the safety and comfort of our canine guests is foremost. The boarding kennel features Priefert 4' x 10' interior kennels. We do have ten kennels with an attached 4' x 5' covered outdoor patio. You must request the indoor/outdoor kennel in advance and your dog must not be an excessive barker.
Our primary concern is the welfare of our guests. For this reason, our minimum boarding age for dogs is 4 months. It is generally recommended that puppies get their first round of "adult" shots at 12 weeks, and the second round at 16 weeks, including rabies. Additionally, in any kennel environment, a young pup could possibly be exposed to air-borne viruses with an immune system not quite developed to fight it off.
First, our computer software calculates your charges based on overnight stays. Secondly, it will look for partial day charges. A partial day charge only applies if you check in during our morning hours of 7-10 am and check out from 4-6 pm on another day. The system makes the adjustment for the 12 hours of service we provide between our business hours.

I'm so grateful for Canoe Ridge Kennels! They've been a real life-saver when I've needed last minute help for our dogs (Warning: book early for holidays and during the summer because they fill up early). I appreciate how easy they are to work with and how knowledgeable they are with dogs. Dietary requirements weren't an issue, I pack a bin for each dog with instructions and that's it.
They also worked easily with my vet to get vaccination records. Most importantly to me is whenever I've emailed for a status update, the information they give me tells me they really take notice of my dogs and have taken the time to get to know them. Also love that they get groomed before I pick them up. When our dogs come home, they're always really happy!

We have taken our pets to Canoe Ridge Kennel since we moved to Decorah in 2013. Deb has always treated our pets very well and she is always kind and respectful when we drop off and pick up our dogs. Our lab, Charlie, was elderly when we moved to Decorah and had to be kenneled because our daughter was getting married in CA. Deb took him in and treated him with such a caring heart!
We called several times just to check on him and she was always very sweet to let us know he was doing well. The newest edition to our family, Daisy Mae and her cousin, Mia, LOVE to go to the "puppy spa" for a weekend when we have to travel. They knows right what to do when they get there and I always feel like they are known and loved when we walk in. Thank you, Canoe Ridge Kennel, for all you do for our fur babies! Merry Christmas!
