Pets for Protection provides professional one-on-one dog training in the Intermountain Western United States for a variety of dog training applications and breeds. This training program is designed to teach both dog and owner the basis of understanding how we get the dog to recognize and react to a threat. Tasks included: Recognizing and reacting to a threat, and command response to protect.

Our Behavior Training Program is designed to establish or reestablish appropriate behavior in your pet. Your time spent with your dog is broken down into attended or unattended time and the importance of both.
Services
Pets for Protection was founded in 1971 with the idea that far too many dogs of good temperament were losing their homes. Poor behavior seemed to be their common bond. Whether it be simple puppy exuberance or down right viciousness it was and still is costiing many dogs their homes and even their life.
Our protection training program is broken down in to three levels that will take you and your pet from basic threat recognition to advanced to developing confident off-leash commands. This training program is designed to teach both dog and owner the basis of understanding how we get the dog to recognize and react to a threat.
Our Behavior Training program is broken down in to four sessions which are designed to establish or reestablish appropriate behavior in your pet. Each session is broken down in to your attended time spent with your dog, unattended time spent with your dog, and the importance of both. Session one gives instruction on how to use the equipment leashes, collars, crates, kennels, that will be part of early education so that they are not a "life sentence" but merely the tools we need to complete the work.
Pets for Protection combines classroom training and hands-on experience to help attendees successfully develop the skills to prevent dog attacks and serious injury in the workplace. Pets for Protection's Bite Prevention course offers hands-on training for those that consistently enter areas where off leash and on leash dogs may be present. Learning to identify and react appropriately to dogs showing signs of aggression is key for staying safe in these areas.
