Michael and Sally are wonderful with my spirited Airedale 2yo. They hand strip him and he looks like such a stunner! Unfortunately, the grooming is closed for a few months due to weather destroying their spa room. I'm very much looking forward to their reopening!

They are not currently offering grooming services. The profile for this business should be updated.

These folks were SO nice. We weren't sure what to expect. Our dog was pretty nervous when we dropped her off, but the man who took her clearly knew what he was doing. He walked around with her and took her in and out of the play area a few times while we were leaving. We were still pretty nervous when we were leaving, but they sent us a wonderful video of our dog playing with a few other pups. I would happily return here and would recommend to anyone in the area!

I brought rocky to Aberglen Pet Resort in Sonoma for his summer haircut after my previous groomer who did amazing lion cuts on my Kitty went out of business. The woman on the phone said lion cuts were no problem and to bring him in at 11. I pulled into the parking lot and saw an adorable little Victorian house with a separate garage. The garage portion had yellow caution tape around it, so I went to the front door of the house and opened it.

There was a man in there and I said "Oh hi I have an appointment at 11!" He puts his hand on his hip and yells over and over and over get out of my house get out of my house get out of my house. I absolutely froze like an idiot and felt like I needed to explain myself since it was an innocent mistake. (Mind you I wasn't even inside the house I just opened the front door). Anyway, I turned around and there was a woman who started leading me to the little garage that was surrounded with caution tape.

She takes my cat carrier from me and proceeds to lift up the tape and go under it. I am thinking to myself I need to go in and explain what I need done to my cat, right? So I said "am I supposed to come in?" she says "no Ill just call you when hes done". Because of the fact that I had already had a conversation with her over the phone about what I wanted, I just reiterated everything while standing outside, and I left.

Fast forward 3 hours. I'm thinking he should be done by now. I give her a call and she said he was a really good boy and his hair is off and hes just waiting for his bath. I didn't ask for a bath, but OK, That's fine. I let her know that I was far away from home so I was staying in the area until he was finished. She told me to come get him at 4:30. Here's where things get crazy.

I get back there at 4:30, And I see a sign that says call us when you are here and we will bring your animal out to your car. She answers the phone and tells me he's not done and to give her 15 minutes. I wait. Here she comes. she opens my car door, puts the carrier down and says its $75. Well I want to see the job she did, so I start opening the carrier and she tells me not to.

She said hes gonna run away if I open it. Since my cat is such a mellow dude, I told her hes fine and I took him out. My heart sank to the floor and I could tell exactly why she didn't want to me to see him. I will let the pictures I am posting speak for themselves. She could see on my face how devastated I was and again asked for her $75 check.

I was in such utter shock. Looking back I wish I would have asked her if she was really charging me for this hack job. All she said was "yeah, he really lost patience with me, so I couldn't finish". (Remember hes had beautiful lion cut in the past). I really believe she didn't even start on his haircut until I was in the parking lot. The whole day from beginning to end was an absolute nightmare.

Oh I forgot to tell you, when I asked her if she was associated with the man in the house she said "hes my tenant and you shouldn't have gone there, cant you read the covid sign?" Apparently there was a covid sign by the caution tape that I missed. She was so ugly about it which made me feel even stupider. I said ma'am, yellow caution tape is universal for do not enter so I am sure not the 1st person to do that.

She did admit that I wasn't the first. It took me all night to shed the icky feeling I had from that place. Like my mom said, "animal people are supposed to be fun and nice, not ugly and bitter." I know this was a long review. Thank you for reading, and when it comes down to it, the emotional turmoil was just a byproduct. main point is she did a crappy job, and actually charged me for it.

Love them, great with my dogs. And she breeds brussel griffon puppies on the side (the dog from As Good As It Gets). They are so cute and pre covid you'd see them from time to time

I recently moved to Sonoma, and found good reviews on Aberglen to get my Sheltie washed and brushed. I originally left a voicemail, and received a call back soon after to schedule within the next few days. I thought the price was a little high to what I'm used to($65), but this is Sonoma so I went anyways. To my delight, Micheal at Aberglen simply went above and beyond.

Even thought I just paid for a wash and brush, Michael cleaned up his ears (which I had been asking my previous groomer to do for months) evened his trimmings out (even thought he had just been groomed 10 days earlier), clipped and smoothed nails, and more. In conclusion, I'll definitely be back. Top-notch care; thank you!

Sally is my Hero! She took our little pain in the butt who won't let even his family wAsh his face without trying to bite us HOWEVER even though he has NO teeth his bite is worth avoiding cuz it's STRONG!(He's a mix Lassa Apso)BUT~Sally is one Super Woman because she gets him groomed like no other; cuts nails too and makes our little monster look like a sweet, innocent puppy like he used to be.

Normally he's NOT like that but if he doesn't want something done to him well~~~ Sally is simply our special HERO! And we love her for what she is and does! She loves her clients!

I took my 21 year old Siberian cat in to have some awful mats removed from her ear area and other difficult areas. The mats were up against her skin and I was too nervous to do it. I have been to this groomer before and was very impressed. This time as well. Very professional and they knew when my cat just could not tolerate any more. I will definitely use their services in the future.

I took my australian shepard here for the fist time. They take you in the same day which is the good thing but they charged 85 for everything including his nails trimmed, ears cleaned, bath, and cut they didnt even clean his ears which are extremly dirty thats the one thing i was expecting. They also missed some long hair on his behind. There nice but wont take my dog here again.

I've been taking my dogs to AberGlen Kennels for years, like almost 20 years! I love going there because my dogs have such a good time. Between snacks, balltime and walkies by the time they get home they're pooped. Not only do they have fun, they come home smelling clean and fresh. I've had my Westies groomed at other places but AberGlen is far and away the best cut in town, hands down! If you've never been by AberGlen Kennels give them a call you won't be disappointed

We have been taking our 3-year-old Portuguese Water Dog to Aberglen for boarding and grooming ever since she was a pup. We never worry when we leave her in Sally's capable hands. She's a caring and extremely competent handler and a master groomer. Compared to other Bay Area boarding facilities, her rates are very reasonable -- we pay for extras like country hikes and pet and play sessions to keep our active dog busy while she's there. She always comes home happy and healthy and looking great when she's been groomed! Sally and Aberglen are the best and worth the drive!

We have been taking our Portuguese Water Dogs to Aberglen for both boarding and grooming for more than 10 years. Sally George is one of the best groomers around and she was show handler for many years placing championships on countless dogs. Well worth the drive from the Bay Area - and a wonderful family to get to know! http://www.aberglen.com/
