Planet Canine

I have now been taking my pup on a sporadic basis for the last 8 months so ready to review my experience. 1st of all, no negatives at all. Every interaction I have with either of the owners or the daily caretakers working there has been very pleasant. In just the 1st or 2nd visit they determined what group of dogs my pup would best interact with. He is a Whippet puppy so they put him with the high energy dogs and it is great at the end of the day when I pick him up and he is nice and tired from playing with his friends.

Frequently they send me a YouTube link to a video of him playing with them. They have even sent report cards describing his day. As you may be looking at this review many years later, I won't bother putting the rates but at this time the rates are extremely low for what you get. It is quite affordable if you need to take your doggy there everyday.

During Covid my Standard Poodle Gus had been home with me for over a year since I was able to work remotely. I had to start going in the office once a week and sometimes more. Since I didn't want to leave Gus home alone all day, I decided to look into doggy day care. Gus has not been socialized in over a year which was a big concern for me. I contacted Planet Canine "Polly" and told her my concerns.

They worked with Gus and he is now completely comfortable being around other dogs. He gets so excited when he knows he is going to be dropped off. He even tries to get in the door before they open it. When I pick him up he's happy and tired from playing. I love it when they send me video's. Its a nice feeling not to worry about your dog and knowing they are in good hands. I have boarded him there and will again when I go out of town. Thank you Polly and Steve and the wonderful staff.

I have a toy poodle with separation anxiety and have tried a gimmicky, more expensive facility in the past. My dog cowering on arrival told me all I needed to know. At Planet Canine he's excited and can't wait for me to open the door! The staff are genuine and true dog people. My work schedule has changed so he's been needing to go to doggie daycare less often, but we wouldn't go anywhere else. They take great care of my high-maintenance little guy!

We love Planet Canine. Steve and Polly and all their employees. I have gradually added to my family over the years, going from one lonely yellow lab to now a full on pack of three dogs. The newer two are still pretty young but my lab is old as dirt now. All of them get the attention they need at the Planet. They all start howling on the freeway when we get to Francisco Blvd. they hop out of the car and impatiently woof and pound their paws on the door until they get let in, and they all come home happy and tired with big smiles on their faces. We've used other places and services before - honestly, I don't need my dog to have swimming lessons or a webcam so I can watch it sleeping all night or tearing up its bedding.

They have a YouTube channel if you really want to know how its going while you're gone, and everyone is very good about giving me text updates if I ask. Sometimes even when I don't ask I hear from them about how the "kids" are doing. I love that Planet Canine is much more like dropping your dog off at a trusted family member's house.

It doesn't feel like boarding or a kennel. I'm on vacation right now and they've been there for nearly a week and we're all perfectly happy. Am I'm happily thinking about how excited my sweet dogs will be when I come home. I'm editing to attach a screen shot of a text exchange I had with Polly this week about the two younger dogs. It's so indicative of how much they care and how they make each client feel like their dog is the most important one they care for! It's hilarious, and is a very good insight into the kind of personal care you'll get there. Polly attached a video at the bottom of this text so I could see them playing and running around.

We have been coming to Planet Canine since late 2014/early 2015 and it literally saved our marriage. We had recently adopted a 1 year-old dog who had serious separation anxiety and he was eating up our house from the inside out. Enter Planet Canine. We have been taking our dog to Planet Canine for all-day puppy care for almost seven full years now. almost every weekday. Osito (our dog) LOVES it. he knows when we're getting close by and he starts pacing back and forth in the car in anticipation. Steve and all of the staff at Planet Canine love the dogs and make sure they get what they need - to run around with other dogs and have fun and get exercise. It's absolutely fantastic. A number of other doggy daycare sites have opened up, but I wouldn't ever consider them - Planet Canine has won us over for life!

Hands down the best doggie daycare in Marin County. The ONLY place my dog is excited about going to. She used to go to other doggie day care places in Marin County. She was always unhappy to go to them--we often had to bribe her with treats to even get out of the car--and incredibly happy when we came to pick her up. At Planet Canine, she is actually EXCITED to go there! It's the best feeling to know your pet is not only being taken care of, but LOVED. Highly, highly recommended.

My dog loves Planet Canine, and it's clear the staff loves him back. At the vet or the groomer, I have to coax Murray out of the car. At Planet Canine, he's eager to get in the door. I'm really comfortable leaving him there for long periods of time.

I can't say enough about how awesome Planet Canine was for our dog Butch while we were out of town. He stayed for 6 nights and had the best time! The treated him sooo well and made us feel so good by sending us videos and photos with a little note about how he was doing almost everyday! Butch was totally loved and cared for and it gave us the abilty to relax while away. It is obvious that the people at Planet Canine love and care for the dogs there. I can't say enough about this place. Butch LOVED it! Thank you so much Planet Canine!

I can't say enough about Planet Canine! Steve, Polly, and all of the staff are wonderful! My dog buddy is a pain the ass to say the least.they take the best care of him! He gets so excited to go to doggie daycare that he will push the button to roll my car window down and jump out to run in to see his friends!

Our dogs always come back from Planet Canine happy. The people who work here really love dogs and give them the attention they need. Their prices are great too!

Had to find a new kennel for the 4th of July holiday after my regular one closed unexpectedly, and chose Planet Canine based on reviews I read online. I am beyond satisfied with the facilities, the staff, and how much my pup enjoyed his stay. I liked that the application was detailed, the facility tour was thorough, and the staff experienced. Will definitely board my dogs here again.

The love of my life goes to daycare at planet canine whenever I work or stay long hours in the city. Need I say more? She doesn't know she's a dog, so does best in the solo yard or snoozing mid day in the large floor crate. Kevin and Kelley are great with her, quirks and all. She bounds out of the car to the front entrance in the morning. She's happy and safe, I'm happy too.

Staff was very good and appeared to really love the dogs. Our dog did go in and out as we took him for walks in the park. He never hesitated to return.

I love Planet Canine! My Bo gets so excited when he commutes with me as he knows he gets to have a play date with his friends. He rushes into the building and happily greets Steve or Kelly! It's been such a comfort knowing that Bo is genuinely happy when he is at Planet Canine. It makes my level of guilt a lot less when we leave on vacation as we know he too is on a doggy vacay! Thank you, Steve for having such a dog friendly environment at a reasonable rate in Marin!

I love this place for our 55lb.playful labradoodle "puppy". We were in a bind during Christmas break unable to find a place to board our dog and Steve responded immediately and made it easy for us to set her up and bring her in. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and I loved that they offer dog baths as well. She was there for over a week and we noticed she was better behaved when we got her back. This is our"go-to" place for dog boarding.

I left my dog, Chewy, for day care before heading to school. The owner, Steve, along with his staff, took really good care of him for me. Chewy barks excessively. He is quite needy and requires a lot of attention, but when I came back around 6 pm to pick him up, he was very happy and tired. He got a lot of playing time with other dogs. Thank you Steve and Planet Canine! I will definitely come back!

I moved up here from la and I saw on Yelp all the great reviews so I came by for a tour and I couldn't have been more wowed by the facility and the people working there for the accommodations for my dog. They went out of their way to accommodate my dogs needs. When I picked up my dog he was happy and looked like he was well taken care of.

Our little guy Mak has a great time and is exhausted when he gets home! Steve is great and we always checkin with each other when I pick Mak up. Thanks for taking care of him while we're away at work!

We love Planet Canine! Our dogs love Planet Canine! We have been using PC for day care, Monday thru Friday. Steve and the team go out of their way to welcome my furry babies. When we travel for up to 10 days, sometimes, I know the dogs are safe, happy and well cared for and most importantly, LOVED! J.C. must be thinking of another doggie day care, my dogs are never in cages, it is not dark. Just check out the Instagram account for pictures. As stated in the previous review, the only down side we found to boarding our hounds with PC is that they smell like they've been living a wild dog party pack life while they're there--which is pretty much how it works at PC and why they love it. But, boy howdy, they morph into two odiferous, frankly rank canis domestici--as disgusting as 5 day old chicken bones left to fester in the kitchen garbage.

Two pee--uuu pups! Luckily, Matthew T., one of PC's former employee's tipped me off. If requested, PC will bathe your blissed out but stenchy friend(s) the day you pick them up so you don't have to make an immediate stop at the dog wash on the way home. After being gone for 5 days the last thing we wanted to do was have to schlep the dogs over to Pet Food Express for a bath. PC did a great job with their care and our olfactory bulbs sighed a sniff of relief when we got them back clean and newly washed.
