American Pet Spa & Resort

We have borded our dogs there since 2007. The main managers have come & gone but our dogs always come home with no issues. Our dog had not been there since Feb 2022. American Pet Spa has changed for the better. Check in was organized & fast. Today I picked up our lab after 7 nights. She came out happy plus she was very clean after her bath. They also washed her bedding.so nice & clean. Winnie has been very calm & no itching today. Excellent! Highly recommend you pay for the quality but it is well worth it.

We love American Per Spa! Mirena has been grooming our dogs for years and she's simply the best. The spoiled rotten package is our favorite.

My 6 month old mini-Schnauzer had received two "bad" report cards from Pet Smart groomers, and I was paying $60 for little more than a bath. Our vet recommended American Pet Spa. Debbie listened to my frustrations and promised she'd do her best to give my pup a much needed trim, and boy did she deliver! Many thanks to Debbie and her helper for your patience and for making the grooming experience more pleasant for my sweet Livy!

We had an express appointment for our 6 month old Australian Shepherd, Winnie, for today and we are so very pleased with the results. Our puppy is so fluffy and soft. The staff were friendly, helpful, attentive and very caring. We definitely recommend American Pet Spa & Resort.

The absolute worst care for dogs and their owners. Firstly, if you call no one answers. Even if you leave a voicemail, no one answers. When I finally got an appointment scheduled, I dropped my 50 lb Australian Cattle Dog off at 8 am and APS didn't call me until 6 pm to tell me she was ready. Keep in mind this is a short haired dog and all she needed was a bath and a nail trim.

Even when I picked her up she was still wet. All that time before her bath, she was kept in a kennel and very likely had little to no water or time to go outside for the bathroom because she came home extremely dehydrated and couldn't wait to go bathroom once she exited the facility. In addition, when I tried to call to check on her status in the afternoon, no one answered the phone (shocker).

I do want to say I had been using APS before, what seemed like some changes were made to management and personnel, and the service was MUCH BETTER before, but now its just absolute neglect.

My dog was brought in at 8 am for an 8:30 appointment. They didn't bathe her until 2:30, knowing she normally takes 6-8 hours to dry (she's double coated and when I scheduled the appt, they even said that and said I needed an early appt). They ended up brushing her when she was still wet, which every groomer knows you shouldn't do if they have a double coat.

She was still very wet when I picked her up, to the point the car seat was wet after driving her home and our carpet was wet where she laid. That is very painful to a dog to brush them wet. This happened here once before a couple years ago, and they assured me it would never happen again. When I spoke to the manager, she was very rude. I will not be going back and do not recommend this place at all.

Dropped my dog off Saturday am. Picked him up Monday morning. While in the office I was never told anything happened and even booked another date. Received an text and email confirming the date and asking me to pay a deposit. They brought my dog outside, not in the office and told me he bit someone. My dog doesn't like other dogs but deals well with people.

I left with my dog and have yet to have anyone tell me what happened. No one from this place has called to talk to me about the supposed bite. I would give them zero stars if it was option. When you care for someone's pet you should have better communication skills.

The desk staff were friendly and efficient. We met with the groomer as she wanted to know if we had any special requests or concerns. When we picked up our baby, she was clean and cutely groomed. A great experience all around and we would not hesitate to use them again

American Pet Spa & Resort is my go to boarding/daycare facility, the facilities are well maintained and offer all kinds of great activities for my pup. She's always excited to see and interact with the staff, which is always top notch. Highly recommended!

I had a great experience at American Pet Spa. I was able to book a reservation very easily and the prices were great. My dog got lots of space and was able to have his own bedding & toys. Everyone let me know how well my dog did and you could really tell they loved on him. I will definitely be using again.

Finally a Great Experience with getting my Dog Groomed. From making the Reservation to timely admittance of My Tucker Dog, it was all Refreshing. Reasonably Priced & Friendly Staff round out the First Class Experience. Tucker came out of the Salon a "Happy Camper" which is the Ultimate Measurement! We have decided to get him Groomed once a Quarter as this is the Best our German Shepherd has ever looked! Thank You & Merry Christmas!

I had an appointment set for my three dogs. I called to reschedule because I was very sick. The woman rescheduled me and I was expecting a confirmation message. I never received the message left three voicemails and called multiple times to try to find out when my dogs appointment was because I was so sick I didn't remember at the time. The grooming itself is wonderful. Don't expect service

I will no longer be taking my 2 dogs to them. The groomer Debbie is great but the people who run the place do not work with the dog owners. Do not expect them to help help you. They do not appreciate your business.

We bought a swim pass of 10 sessions for our dog which we only used 2 so far. Calling the place today to try to book a swimming time and was told that the new owner will NOT honor the remaining 8 sessions. Response to the yelp comment: The swim pass is not a discount codes or coupons -- it's 10 swim sessions bundle deal. In other words, we pre-paid 10 private swim sessions, only used 2 so far (given 2020 CVOID situation).

What you offered initially was 2 private swim sessions for our 8 unused private swim sessions. Response to the phone call: Thank you for honoring the remaining 8 swim sessions. Change rating from 1 to 4.

Our doodle is very skittish of groomers, due to a bad experience in another city, so I was very nervous about finding a groomer in our new home. I found this groomer from recommendations online. When I arrived, the groomer came out and listened to my concerns, and asked how I wanted my sweet girl to look. When I came back a few hours later, she was very happy, and looked adorable! I was also pleasantly surprised by the price for the excellent service. We will definitely be back!

We brought our pup here for a swim once, and loved it so much that we booked a room for him to spend his Christmas there! He seems to have had a great time, and came back exceptionally clean after his grooming service that we added on for him. They even administered his medication for us while he was there. We'll definitely be bringing him here again!

After being a loyal customer for so many years I was completely shocked how things are being handled. Our dog stayed there for a few nights and when we picked up everything came home reeking of urine. Our dog has never had an issue going to the bathroom inside God for bid on her actual dog bed. When I called up there to try and get clarity they swore up and down that no other dog was in her cage but I find that confusing because she's never had an issue holding her bathroom break.

So either she was not let out to go to the bathroom in a certain time. Or they had another dog in there as they were rotating cages. Either way that's completely unacceptable and it blows my mind that they thought it would be fine to take all of her belongings throw it in a trash bag and send her home with it like it never happened. I see this dog as my child and see this being handled as if you were to send your child home from daycare in this current situation.

Even if in a worst-case scenario she was the one that wet her bed why would nobody note that or God for bid own up to it. Completely ridiculous and unacceptable, when I try to talk to management they completely shrugged it off. There is no room for businesses to be operated like this.

My small dog has her "beauty" appointment every 4-6 weeks and has been going to see Morena for three years. Definitely pleased with the service. Not so pleased with the drive in.the street has been torn up for a year.not American Pet Spa's fault but it's still a pain. Can't wait until the mess is finished. It's fun to see the other animals that they have rescued as you drive in. The whole place looks like an old time western town.

Best place to groom and board your dog! I brought my German Shepherd in and he loved it here! The staff is so friendly and dedicated to taking care of your pup! When I picked him back up he was freshly groomed and looked so good! He is excited to come back every time! They always know him by name and greet him as soon as he walks in!

Kendra Angel's name suits her perfectly. My dog loved her and she does the best work ever. I'd recommend her to anyone.

They are absolutely the best! Kendra always takes the best care of our dog. She loves to get groomed here, and I can leave her with peace of mind knowing that she is being pampered. Highly recommend!

I went here for another separate service. i used the ranch hand rescue therapy that operates out of the resort grounds. Well the only place for us to use the bathroom was inside the kitty house. 1 thats not helpful if you have cat allergies. 2 i didnt realize when i was there the first several visits that the cats inside were peoples pets there for boarding. they allowed me and others to pet them like therapy cats. and we are going in and out of the building while cats are roaming and also trying to get outside.

So you can be there using the bathroom for therapy sessions and accidentally let out someones pet cat! and nobody that works there will even know! Little crazy. I walked back to the cat kennel area and they had birds back there with the cats. like pet birds.idk but cats and birds are a weird combo to put in the same room even in cages. seems like it would stress the birds. I have a dog and thought about this place since i went here to see the horses and ducks and chickens. but now im not sure.

Ok so I get my long haired Doxie groomed to look like a smooth short haired doxie. Don't hate me for this. It's a great look for summer. This is the place that can do it.

I have taken my dog here many time and more recently she has been scared didn't want to go back there. Anywhere else she does not act this way. Her "report card" states she was happy and didn't mind the nails cut but they didn't even cut them. I paid for the service for her nails to be done and they weren't even touched. They looked awful and where so long that the underneath looked almost hollow. Had to take her to her vet and pay to get them done the right way. If a customer pays for a service it's expected to be done. Especially if not doing it can cause pain to the dog.

I had a horrible experience at Petco (US 377 Rayzor Ranch) and I was looking new groomers, this place is amazing! The people that work here are super sweet! I felt very at ease leaving them. I went to pick them up and the price it's super affordable for all the services they provide. My 2 dogs came out perfect and smelling like oatmeal and honey (which I love), they get report cards and a cute bandana. Ill definitely come back for grooming and maybe other services. I'm super pleased.

Unbelievable place. I have two house dogs and two yard dogs. All loved this place except Rocky the male house dog, but he doesn't like anyone touching him except family. I knew he would be a hit or miss but the other three were a hit. Thanks and I like the report card and neck scarf after the spa visit. The wife thinks it's a bit expensive but a wash and wax, trim while I get chores done hits the spot. The little pet town is cool too. Thanks American Pet Spa for being in Argyle.
